Chapter 14: The Apocalypse!
The rising sun cast a rosy hue across the morning sky. The blue sky was dotted with fluffy white clouds that drifted lazily in the gentle breeze.
The just-risen sun shone softly on the city streets, bringing with it a flurry of early-morning activity.
Strolling happily, enjoying just another day of their lives peacefully, not knowing that hell was coming soon.

Akito and Saeko exited the house standing shoulder by shoulder. Saeko was wearing her school uniform while Akito stood next to her with a metal bat in his hand, he was wearing black track pants and a black t-shirt.
"It will be starting soon," He said while glancing at the DCG.
"Mmm," Saeko hummed in agreement.
She was carrying a long bag that held Muramasa within it. As long as she claimed that she had her wooden sword in it, no one would bother to question her.
"I'll be heading off then,"
Saeko said while smiling towards him before turning around and leaving.
Akito stared at her back for a few seconds before heading off in a different direction. There was still in an hour or two before the apocalypse truly began.
He believed Saeko would be enough to handle anything that happens in the school.
As for him?
He was going to scout the area once again.
Akito did many things in these 7 days and one of them was scouting the surrounding areas for any markets, supply stores, malls, temporary hiding places, etc.
Now he was headed for another check just in case he missed something and also maybe encounter 'them' early on.
He didn't know why they called zombies 'them' or 'they', zombies were fucking zombies.
As he jogged around the area he felt sad in his heart, soon the world would be filled with chaos and mayhem.
Pain, Misery, and Death.
Everyone would soon face them.
Akito shook his head and cleared his mind of any bitter thoughts.
He wasn't just a 'normal' teenager anymore.
He had to adapt.

15 Minutes passed.
As Akito was walking past the grocery store he heard a commotion from the inside.
Looking through the glass he saw a woman trying to pull a man away but he wasn't budging. The man's head was lowered and swaying slightly.
The angry yells of the woman caused quite a bit of onlookers.
But suddenly the man raised his head, Akito could only see his back but he saw the woman's face turn pale white from fear. The man bit the woman's neck and caused blood to splatter everywhere.
Horrifying shrieks echoed in the grocery store startling everyone.

A frightened child wiped the blood that splashed on his face and turned towards his mother who was wriggling on the floor with a pool of blood under her neck, "M-mama? P-papa? P-papa, don't h-hurt MAMA!"
The father lifted his head and looked at the child with his lifeless unfocused eyes. His skin was extremely pale, bordering greyish and blood dripped from his mouth along with pieces of torn flesh.
The child took a step back in fear and stumbled before falling,
The people around were stunned silly since it was around 9 am and most of the customers were women or women with little children, they hadn't seen such a gory scene before and blanked out while some tried to run away.
The father took wobbly steps toward the child leaving a trail of blood on the floor.
He opened his mouth wide and charged at the trembling kid.
The kid shut his eyes in fear and suddenly heard a loud bang!
Bang!
Opening his eyes he saw a big brother with slightly long black hair and black eyes holding a metal bat dripping with far more blood than his father.
He turned his head and saw his father stuck in the grocery cabinet with a half-destroyed face!
He immediately vomited and he wasn't alone, the surrounding people finally started coming back to their senses.
They couldn't understand what just happened!
"MURDER!"
"RUN!"
"S-SOMEONE CALL THE POLICE!"
Shrieks and yells filled the grocery store. A woman that was a friend of the couple immediately ran towards the child, "M-Masato come with me!"
She didn't wait for his consent and picked him up before rushing out. The 7-year-old was still horrified and confused, he wanted to tell Aunty Kira to help his mother too but all he saw was the big brother from earlier smashing the metal bat on his mother's face.
Tears flowed from his eyes, he cried loudly but they were drowned in the chaos among the people.

Blood splattered on Akito's clothes as he lifted his metal bat. His eyes were firm and filled with determination but his hands were still trembling a bit.
The moment he saw the pleading look in the woman's eyes he knew he had to end it.
He stood alone with two corpses around him and the smell was extremely nauseating.
The grocery store was now filled with silence.
The silence was deafening to him but he increased his grip on the bat.
There was no room for hesitation.

Saeko walked to walk school just like every day with a stoic look on her face as if there wasn't an impending apocalypse.
The students swarmed around her when they saw her asking various questions but what amused her was that a rumor had spread about her.
The rumor said that Saeko Senpai was living and spending time with her secret boyfriend while skipping school.
Ayako's image flashed in her mind, the red-haired girl was someone with a loose mouth and extremely gossipy.
Well, it wouldn't matter soon.
She didn't bother rebutting them and naturally greeted them before heading towards her class.
Seeing her not rebutting anything caused the girls to shriek in excitement while many male bystanders felt their hearts shatter.
Who could capture the heart of Saeko Senpai!?
Soon the students settled down in their class.
...
It had been 10 minutes since the teacher began teaching when Saeko suddenly stood up.
"Yes, Bujishima-san?"
"Sensei, My health isn't currently the best and my head hurts. I would like to rest in the infirmary."
"Uh, okay if that's how you feel then take care and since you've missed a week of school don't forget to catch up with your studies."
"... Studies?" Saeko had a weird expression but didn't say anything and nodded.
She left the classroom and first headed to the kendo club and picked up Muramasa after which she started walking towards the infirmary.
When she knocked on the door a bubbly but sleepy voice came from within.
"Come in~"
Saeko opened the door and headed in, there she saw Shizuka sitting at her desk twitling the pen in her hands while yawing and mumbling something.
Shizuka was a very tall buxom woman with ridiculous curves and her physique was most pronounced by her humongous breasts. She had waist-length blonde hair that has several bangs coming down into her face and hazel eyes.
Shizuka looked towards the entrance and saw Saeko coming in, she immediately asked with happiness, "Do you not feel well?"
Not knowing why she sounded happy Saeko responded, "I just feel a little headache and would like to rest for a bit."
"O-Oh, Okay..." Shizuka visibly deflated and looked sad. As she was feeling bored she started dozing off while Saeko took one of the empty beds.
Shizuka didn't even bother to ask her why she was carrying the Kendo Club's shinai bag.
Saeko saw her sleeping and sighed before sitting in a mediate position. She cleared her mind and relaxed her breathing.
...
Just like that, an hour passed and suddenly an announcement spread in the school.
"Attention students!"
"Violence has broken out on the campus!"
"Students should evacuate the campus according to the teachers' instructions!"
"I repeat!"
"Violence has broken out on the campus!"
"Students should evacua- ..... N-No! Help me! Stay away! Please hel- AAAAAAAAHHHH...."

Saeko immediately opened her eyes with a cold look and saw the airhead nurse raise her head with a drowsy look and tilt her head in confusion.
But this wasn't all, Chaos spread among the campus and terrified screams were heard every second.
Saeko looked out of the window and saw students running everywhere as pale-looking humans with numerous wounds chased them!
Anyone caught would be bit several times before they got up and joined the swarm of zombies.
Seeing all this Saeko got up and took Muramasa out.
Shizuka saw Saeko take out the sword but still held the same confused look.
"Get up, we have to leave."
"Eh~?"
