Chapter 34: Discussion

Chapter 34: Discussion

It was a 16x16ft room with a medium-sized wooden bed placed at the center, a table near the window, and a wardrobe. There was also an attached bathroom on the right side corner of the room.

After looking at the room's interior, Abium moved towards the glass window, looked outside, and saw the people roaming here and there on the next street road.

He looked outside for a while, checked for any anomaly, and covered the window with a silver curtain.

Then, he turned around, shifted his gaze towards the attached bathroom, and muttered inwardly.

'I should go and take a bath.'

Abium nodded his head as he saw how sweaty he was and stepped ahead to take a bath.

A few minutes later, he returned from the bathroom, changed his cloth into casual ones, and lay on the wooden bed.

He felt drowsy due to his long adventure, closed his eyes, and fell into a deep sleep within seconds.

He slept safely without any rush after a long time.

By the time Abium woke up from the deep sleep, he had noticed that outside was shrouded by darkness and was surprised a little.

'It seems I slept for too long.' He muttered inwardly, stepped out of bed, and moved towards the bathroom.

Once he walked in, he washed his face, brushed his teeth using a herbal paste, and cleaned his mouth.

As he looked at his reflection in the opposite mirror, a sudden knocking sound came from outside and brought him back to his senses.

Abium let out a yawn, walked out of the bathroom, and hurriedly moved towards the room's entrance door.

He then unlocked the door from inside and opened it.

In the meantime, Helena stood outside his room while holding a large plate with lower-end bread made of barley flour and rye.

Pea's pottage, sorrel sauce, and wine steamed chicken were near the bread.

"I brought you some food, Mister!" She said with a smile and signaled him to move away.

On the other hand, Abium showed a stunned look on his face and backed away before nodding his head.

"Come in." He said calmly.

Meanwhile, Helena walked in, moved towards the wooden table, and placed the plate.

"What about you? Did you eat?" Abium asked as he walked towards the wooden table, pulled the chair a little, and sat on it.

"Yes, Mr. Abium. I knocked on your door a few times, but you didn't wake up. So, I thought of bringing the food to the room itself."

"Just call me Abium or Abi." Abium waved his hand, stuffed the pea's pottage inside the bread, and took a bite.

At that moment, Helena nodded her head, sat on the nearby wooden bed, and asked cautiously.

"Umm. How many gold coins do we need to participate in the Orchid Auction to get my sister back?"

Abium raised his eyebrows at Helena's cautious question, making Helena freeze slightly.

He then shook his head and continued to eat. After some time, he finished the dinner and turned to look at Helena.

However, Abium's amber eyes looked so deep that she could not see the end.

As Helena looked back into his calm amber eyes, she heard his gentle voice.

"We need a large amount of money to participate in the auction."

"I have 100 gold coins in the adventure's guild card, Mr. Abium. Also, I have this artifact."

Helena took a bracelet from her hand as she spoke those words and gave it to him.

Meanwhile, Abium picked up the bracelet from her hand and tried to examine it using Azolla's scan function.

...

[Name: Green Bracelet

Type: Magic Artifact

Rank: Low-Tier

Abilities: A Nature-Elemental Spell called 'Poison Spikes' is engraved deep in this bracelet. As long as the user activates this artifact, they would be able to cast a First-Tier spell and control the spikes under their will.

Cooldown: 1/week

Caution: To cast this spell, the user must be an official Mage and should have 12 Spirit Points.]

...

'Not bad. But this won't be enough.' He shook his head.

With Azolla's scan function, he could tell that this artifact might fetch a hundred white gold coins. (Mostly, Mages use the White Gold coins.)

It was 1000 gold coins according to the regular currency of the Peral Kingdom.

Many Low-Rank Nobles might show interest in this artifact.

'But it's is not enough.' He sighed.

Abium knew that even if they held a large amount of money, they wouldn't be able to enter that auction house without a noble's seal.

His worry was not about the auction but about how they would protect Camilla after the auction. If they walked one step out of that royal city, he knew countless enemies would come for a Fairy.

'Fairy's blood is very precious and could extend a human's lifespan up to 5 to 10 years. I wouldn't be surprised if some official Mages comes after us.'

After thinking deeply, Abium took a deep breath and spoke solemnly.

"First, we have to befriend Baron Auguinare and then get a Noble seal from him."

"Befriend him?" Confusion appeared on Helena's face.

Meanwhile, Abium nodded his head and spoke.

"Something big will happen in this town during the next few days. If things get worse, Baron might die in the hands of some mysterious assassins."

"Are you sure?! Isn't it better to alert him now?" Helena asked in a surprised tone.

On the other hand, Abium shook his head and disapproved of that idea.

"That would be the stupidest thing to do. If we alert Baron now, he will make preparations and kill the mysterious assassins like nothing. I wouldn't be surprised if he used this incident to arrest all the powerful Warriors hiding in the town and force them to swear their allegiance to him. That's including us too."

"Impossible! No noble would dare to do that." Helena widened her eyes in shock and refused to believe his words.

"A noble has the authority to do it during special circumstances. You can go to the Dewsummit City and check the Royal Laws Book on the third floor. You'll find such law on Page 453." Abium spoke as if everything was in his head and then added.

"Baron Auguinare might be a good Noble, but we can't rule out the possibilities. So, it's better to act cautiously."

In truth, he doesn't care much about whether Baron lives or dies. But what he cared about was a precious sword hiding in his armory.

If he goes there now and warns Baron Auguinare about the impending danger, he would reward him with 10 or 50 white gold coins and send him away.

But if he managed to save Baron when he was in a precarious state, he would feel grateful to him and might even think of him as a savior.

At that time, the reward amount would be much higher!

'But I will decline his offer politely and ask him to give him a suitable sword for him from the armory.'

Currently, a High-Tier Sword was sleeping there along with other rusty metals.

Baron's successor managed to find out its actual worth years later and achieved great things in the past.

'I heard that sword has some sword insight hidden in it.' Although it wouldn't be compared to any Legendary Sword, it could be helpful during his early stages.

Meanwhile, Helena was momentarily stunned by his response and asked.

"What should we do then?"

"We should rest in this Inn and increase our strength. At the same time, I also want to meet a few people in this town." He said with a mysterious smile on his face.

"You mean the person named Claude?" Helena asked.

"Yes. Claude is a third-tier Warrior and also a trusted ally of mine." Abium added.

Although Helena couldn't understand his thought process, she realized that the young man in front of her was turning more mysterious and powerful day by day.

'He also seems to be planning something big.'

"What about Watson and that Apprentice Necromancer? Will they come after us?"

Abium chuckled and spoke casually.

"Watson will never give up on us. But he will not make any rash actions in this town. Moreover, I don't even consider him and that necromancer as my enemies."

"Oh? It seems you have so many secrets." Helena grumbled inwardly and then asked.

"What if they decided to act rashly and storm into this city to capture or kill us?"

"If they storm into this town, it will alert Baron Auguinare. Although Baron may be an old man, he is still a fourth-tier warrior."

'Well, he was the first to die in the past, though.' Abium sighed inwardly.

When she heard his response, she breathed a sigh of relief and relaxed.

Then, she stood up from her seat, picked up the empty plate, and walked out of his room.

On the other hand, Abium moved towards the entrance door, locked it from inside, and took out two empty scrolls from his space ring.

After that, he moved towards the wooden table and wrote down the [Quick-Step] cultivation technique on the empty scroll.

Then, he drew a strange, unique circle with mysterious engravings on another scroll, infused all of his sword insight into it, and created a unique 'Royal Sword Technique' manual.

Once he did that, he took both of those scrolls, walked out of his room, and gave them to Helena.

Although she was hesitant to accept those scrolls, she soon agreed when he brought her sister's matter.

A few minutes later, he returned to his room and decided to explore the strange spiritual realm.

Like the last time, he sat in the cross-legged position and started to chant a strange incantation.

Before long, he suddenly found himself in an empty void surrounded by complete darkness.
