Chapter 9: Chapter 9. You Should See a Doctor.

Soon, everyone emptied their bullets, and all those monsters were riddled with holes. But somehow, two shots rang out, and the soldiers beside them didn't hold back their laughter.

With the addition of the three points, Noah was proficient in shooting, and his Beretta M9 proficiency had reached 100%. Now he was no weaker than these people with their M9.

The soldiers had a ridiculing smirk when Zed came over and asked, "You two, may I ask why you thought little Tiffany deserved to die?"

Noah answered first, "Because I don't think all monsters are that bad. For example, this guy is hanging from the street light. He's probably just working out."

Jay, beside him, added, "Yeah, how would I feel if somebody came running in the gym and busted my ass while I'm on the treadmill?"

The several other soldiers couldn't help laughing.

Noah ignored the ridicule of these people and continued, "This, snarling monster. I noticed he had a tissue in his hand. I realised he wasn't snarling; he's just sneezing."

Jay laughed, "It's also possible that he's going to the bathroom or a little constipated. You know, ain't no real threat there."

When the several soldiers next to them saw the tissue, their faces changed. Were they wrong?

Zed looked at Noah and Jay with great interest: "Then why did you kill Tiffany?"

Noah continued answer first, "An 8-year-old white girl walking alone in the street full of monsters at night, holding a quantum physics book. Frankly speaking, I couldn't understand quantum physics even when I went to college, and those books are way too advanced for her."

"Yeah, I can't read those kinds of books either. It's too weird. There must be something wrong with this little girl. I think she's up to something, so I shot her. It looks like Noah and I are thinking the same thing. My man...! "

"And for this bullshit reason, you two shot a poor little white girl?" Malfoy shook his head. 'This guy didn't even know the basic principles of avoiding hostages and civilians. No matter how good they were before, it was no use.'

K looked at the two people on the monitor. 'Their thinking was excellent, unlike those soldiers who were all rigid.' Just what should he do with two people when he was only going to choose one partner?

Zed walked to K's side, "You don't like those soldiers? These two really have a problem with authority."

K smiled, "So do I. But these two ran down a Cephalapoid, on foot, boss. That's got to be enough."

Zed sighed. K was really difficult to manage, but he was the best agent. Moreover, K wanted to choose his partner, and he had to respect K's choice.

"Let's hope you know what you're doing."

Back at the shooting gallery, Zed smiled and looked at everyone, "Gentlemen! Congratulations, you're everything we expect from years of government training. And now, if you will just follow me, we have one more test to administer. An eye exam."

Everyone else quickly walked out, and Noah followed Jay. Jay swaggered out, "We really work well together. I think we could be sports commentators together. And, when did you learn to shoot? Did you learn in secret?"

"Mostly luck, but I never said I didn't know how to shoot."

The two continued to walk outside, but at the door, K was waiting, holding a file.

K passed the folder to Jay, "Back in the mid-1950s, the government started a little underfunded agency with a simple and laughable purpose of establishing contact with a race not of this planet."

When they walked past a room, Noah saw that the six soldiers were sitting inside. Zed pulled out a neuralyzer, telling them all to look directly at the device.

He turned his head, a flash of light flashed behind them, and all six people were doomed to forget everything that happened. 'I thought there would only be one person? Why is K introducing the M.I.B to the two of us when they only need one?'

"Everybody thought that the agency was a joke until the aliens made contact. March 2 1961, outside New York. There were nine of us that first night. Seven agents, one astronomer, and one dumb kid who got lost in the wrong back road."

Jay leafed through the information and looked at K with disbelief. 'Is this guy kidding? This is not some sort of ET movie! The kid offering flowers to the alien should be him, right?'

He looked at Noah, hoping that Noah would laugh at the old man with him, only to find that Noah had a serious expression. 'He's doesn't really believe this old guy, right?'

Kay pointed the way, "This way. They were a group of intergalactic refugees on a mission to establish Earth as an apolitical neutral zone for aliens without a planet. Did you ever see the movie Casablanca? It's the same thing, accept no Nazis. We agreed, and we concealed all evidence of their landing."

Jay muttered in a low voice, "So... these are real flying saucers in the World's Fair. It's just a cover-up for their landing?"

Noah suddenly asked, "Can we see a UFO later?"

K turned to look at Noah, "After joining M.I.B., you might get a chance to see them in person. More non-humans arrive every year, and they live among us in secret..."

Jay suddenly said, "Um... I'm sorry, not to change the subject or anything... When was the last time you got a CAT scan? Do you want me to refer you to a doctor?"

"About six months ago, it's company policy."

"Right... you should make another appointment." Jay patted Noah on the shoulder with a ridiculing expression, "Did you hear that? Aliens? haha..."

"Jay, we should respect the man," Noah said seriously.

"All right, all right, I'll respect him. I'll try not to laugh. No, I really can't help it, hahahaha..." Jay covered his mouth, but his laughter could still be heard.

"Ah... look, tell your boy Zed I had an absolutely wonderful time, and thank you for everything. But ah... why don't you show us the door. Noah, for the sake of making me so happy today, lunch is on me."

"What kind of company would test their people on shooting? You shouldn't take this job. Let's go back, and I'll get one of my contacts to find you a real job. With your skills, you can join the police academy. We'll be partners in no time."

K thought about the people had interviewed before, and each one of them didn't believe him. 'Let's give them a glimpse ...'

"Alright. I'm gonna get some coffee; want some coffee?" K pointed to the office pantry.

"No, thank you, I'm fine." Jay waved his hand and whispered to Noah, "Be careful. Might be spiked, that why he's a little coo-coo ..."

"I'd like one. Jay, come on, I didn't eat anything this morning. I'm hungry, too."

In the office pantry, several aliens with tentacles and tails are sitting together chatting, and some are drinking coffee. Some were drinking tea, and some were smoking.

When they saw K, they greeted him, "Hey, K! Is this your new partner? Want some coffee? But there's no cream."

Noah made a 'shocked' look and accidentally knocked over a plate at the table.

"Hey, watch it! You have to clean that up. K, your new partner is kind of clumsy." An alien, about as tall as Noah's knee said so after he caught the plate.

"Hay! Aliens are real!!" Noah said without pretending. He was really excited. These kinds of aliens were much more shocking than the Cephalapoid.

Jay was waiting outside the pantry and heard Noah's voice. He looked inside. When he saw those aliens, his mouth was wider and wider, and he stared without blinking.

K was satisfied with how they were acting. One was calmer than the other, while the other was stunned in disbelief. Everything was just as he had expected.
