Chapter 105: How Long Has It Been?
"…You didn't raise me at all though,"
"Do you know that I woke up early took a long bath to prepare myself and got into my best clothes for you, and you just kicked me out of bed?" Apophis continued ignoring Yuuya's words.
"You were in your underwear," Yuuya didn't know how that qualified as clothes.
"The Best One!" Apophis emphasized while glossing over some details like always.
"Do you even need to take a bath?" Yuuya questioned he was sure she didn't, he took one because at one point he used to do it daily since he had led a normal life before, so he still has that habit.
But Apophis was a god from the moment she was born, so does she even need to take a bath?
The answer was No, Yuuya was sure that she didn't take one for the long time he knew her, since there was never a need for it.
The same is true now but…
"Like I said it was for you, I need to be at my best at all times," Apophis wriggled her eyebrows and Yuuya once again started to ignore her.
Grayfia was now in deep thought; she had just sat down with her food after giving some to Hati.
'This is the difference between us,' She looked at Apophis who was sitting beside Yuuya shaking him while he is eating and herself who was seated across the table.
Even though it wasn't a clear distinction but for Grayfia it was more than clear.
Just take a look at the stunt Apophis pulled this morning, Yuuya had only pushed her away from the looks of it.
And now Grayfia wondered what'd happen if she had done that.
'Yeah, I am certain I'll be punched,' Grayfia thought while eating, there was no doubt in her mind.
"Grayfia," She looked up at being called by Apophis.
"Do you have something to talk about with Ash? Should I leave you guys alone for a bit?" Apophis asked with a small smile.
"…No, nothing of the sort," Grayfia shook her head and Apophis looked at her for a few seconds before turning.
"I see, I might be overthinking it, Anyway Yuuya back to where we were..."
'She is awfully sharp at times even if she acts like an idiot, I guess that is because she only acts like an idiot,' Grayfia thought and continued to eat, Apophis in the meantime kept on talking to Yuuya and he was just letting it in from one ear and out the other.
It was a special technique he learned from someone.
Just like this, it was soon time for school as the three left the house and picked up Marin on the way, but…
"Marin-chan, what happened?" Apophis asked since Marin's condition looked a little bad.
"Didn't eat a lot for breakfast," Marin answered while sprawling on the backseat.
"If you were running late you could've told us, we would've waited," Apophis said looking back.
"No, it isn't because of that," Marin shook her head and explained the reason.
"Oh, so it is a diet," Apophis understood but not really since she had never experienced it before, but you can say she got the gist of it.
"Yes, it is all Yuuya's fault," Marin looked at Yuuya who blinked silently.
'What did I do?' Even without him saying anything they could easily hear his response.
"It is because I am coming over to your house and eating a lot of food lately," Marin cried like she was wronged.
"And how is that my fault?" This was confusing for Yuuya as well, like which part was his fault here?
"If you had come to my house I wouldn't have that problem, so it is your fault," Marin said and Yuuya just looked out of the window, he didn't want to be bothered by this.
"Marin-chan, aren't you going to be in a worse state then?" Apophis said a little too suggestively.
"Ah! Yeah, you are totes right!" Marin could already picture it, but a bit differently from what Apophis said.
"Here Marin I made this omurice just for you~," Yuuya placed a plate of omurice in front of her, and it wasn't just any omurice this one had a heart made of ketchup along with the word 'Love'.
'No! No! No! No! I'll get fatter a lot faster that way!! I won't be able to control myself and eat everything he cooks along with the plates!' Marin waved the hand above her head to shake away her imagination, the mere thought of eating the food Yuuya cooked was more filling than actually eating.
Marin might not be able to control herself if he cooked for her at her house.
"Marin-san did you pack anything for lunch?" Grayfia asked making her look up.
"Ah! No, I was thinking of eating some salad at school," Marin's face was already scrunched up just thinking of salad let alone eating it. You can't blame her since she has been eating a lot of good food lately.
"I see, I made this bento for you, you shouldn't worry about the calories it is properly balanced and won't affect your diet," Grayfia gave Marin a bento box and later was overjoyed.
"I love you Grayfia, if I was a boy I would've married you right this instant!!" Marin hugged Grayfia by leaning forward in the car, she was really happy.
"…It isn't anything impressive, also please sit down or you might bump your head," Grayfia said to pacify Marin into sitting back down before quietly looking out of the window again.
"Umm! This smells so good, I wanna open it right now and finish it all~, Ungh~ Must resist!!" It took Marin all of her self control to not open this bento right now and finish it.
But she resisted and kept the bento in her bag.
"Apophis-san can you give me some tips for dieting and exercises to be in shape," Marin's energy was running out because of the lack of food inside her stomach.
"Hmm? I don't have any," Apophis said plainly.
"What? You don't do dieting?" Marin's energy was back up, no it was forced out of her because of what she had just heard.
"Nope," Apophis said flatly.
"Grayfia?" Marin turned her head in shock toward the next person.
"I have been studying about the nutritional balance of food and the subject, but I have not done anything of the sort for myself," Grayfia shook her head and Marin looked like she was broken.
"…How…can you two ...look like that without ...…any dieting and exercise?" Marin was questioning everything in existence right about now.
"Well, that is because of him," Apophis pointed at Yuuya while driving kick-starting Marin into top gear once again.
"Yuuya, what do you do to them for them to burn so many calories? Do it to me as well!!!" Marin knew that she could eat a lot but Apophis and Grayfia were on a whole nother level when it came to eating.
They ate more than her whenever they had a meal together, but for them to maintain that physique without anything was absurd. There has to be something here surely, right?
"I didn't do anything to them," Yuuya answered plainly.
"Well, isn't that the biggest problem here?" Apophis said that with a grin while looking at Yuuya through the rearview mirror.
And she found that reaction quite funny.
"Yuuya tell me~~!!" And so Yuuya was pestered by Marin for the whole first half of the day, or more like until she had energy since she stopped functioning in the third period because of hunger.
And as lunchtime arrived the first thing Marin did was take out the bento and chow down on the food.
"Delish~!" Marin's delightful praise echoed in the classroom getting everyone's attention.
"Yikes, she really looks like she hadn't eaten anything for days," Rin smiled wryly coming towards Yuuya's desk.
"Hmm," Yukine nodded her head with a slight sound as affirmation while taking out her packed lunch.
"You guys won't understand my pain, Delicious!" Marin cried but when she had the fried chicken she cried more because of how tasty it was.
"What happened to her?" Rin asked Yuuya who had just placed his bento on the table.
"A diet," Yuuya didn't speak further but it wasn't needed.
"Ah, that must've been hard," Rin said as she sat on the empty seat before Yukine and opened her bento.
"Yeah diets are no fun," Ryou who come over with Shingo said with the face of someone who was reminiscing.
"Hmm, you were in the football club for middle school right?" Rin asked and Ryou nodded explaining his fight with the devil knowing dieting.
"We had a tough manager at the time, I remember I had to go without anything sweet for nearly half of the league's duration,"
"Sounds tough, and it looks like it is finally starting to affect Marin as well," Rin shook her head then turned to Yuuya "How long has she been on a diet?"
