Chapter 4: Hearing a melodious voice
Lu Thassakpu got up in the morning and dressed up, he wore a green shoulder free shirt with blue trousers. He combed his brown hair into an afro wavy hairstyle. He looked so striking at that moment. He walked downstairs. His mom and dad were seated having breakfast.
"Morning dad and mom", he greeted them and joined them.
"Good morning sweetheart, how are you?" his mother asked in a loving voice.
"I'm great mom", he responded and took a fruit into his mouth.
"Where to?", his father asked him as he also placed a fruit in his mouth, it had been long since his son had gone out apart from attending school.
"I'm going to the beach with my friends"
"Your brother and your sister would be coming tomorrow", his father announced
"Hmm" He didn't seem to care about them
In the ocean^^^^^^
"Wang Peng don't put me in trouble okay?" Fang Lang held her hands as he pleaded with her.
"Let me go, Fang Lang, I'm going no matter what", She pulled her hands away from his grip.
"Wang Peng I'm not only your guard, but I'm also your best friend as well, you should listen to me", He pleaded once more.
"If you claim to be my best friend, you should support me instead", she shouted back at him
"I can't support you if you could get into trouble, it's a bad idea, you and I both know the consequences", he held her wrist and turned her to face him.
"Fang Lang, I know you are worried but I need to go so badly", she calmed down seeing that he was just worried about her.
"You know I've always supported you but this is...what should I put it....it is risky", He spoke stammering a bit.
"Pal, don't you worry about me, I can take care of myself", she assured him with a smile.
"What if those humans...."
"I can protect myself okay?", she interrupted him and continued to convince him. In the end, he could only agree to her plans, she was going to the surface in the afternoon.

Lu Thassakpu sat on the ground at the beach as his friends run about having fun, he wanted to swim but was scared, he checked the time it was 1:00 pm. He removed his shirt leaving only his shorts down as he rushed into the water, that side of the river had merged with the Atlantic Ocean so it was considered to be part of it.
He swam deeper and admired the fishes, he even made friends with some of them. As he swam deeper, he saw a reflection of something far away, was it the creature? he wanted to swim towards it.
Meanwhile Wang Peng was playing with some fishes, she saw singing with her melodious voice and it attracted them. The King knew that his daughter had a very melodious voice, but she didn't like to sing in public.
Lu Thassakpu swam closer but he never got there, the thing seemed to be really far. As he got closer, he started to hear a faint melodious voice, was there another human in the ocean as well? he saw a lady's naked slender waist, he was shocked, he couldn't see any legs. Still curious, he swam closer.
Mer-people could sense a human's presence no matter how far the person was.
Sensing a human's presence, Wang Peng dragged a huge statue she had stolen from the shore and behind a sea almond plant and waited to see who would appear, having sharp claws she would surely scare the person away.
Lu Thassakpu reached there only to find a statue floating, he was disappointed. If there was no human here, where had the melodious voice come from? maybe he was hallucinating again. He swam away as his breath was drawing away.
Wang Peng had waited until the person was near, she was ready to attack when she saw the boy, she immediately froze.It.It was him, the one for whom she had waited for five years, he had come back. She just hid behind the plant and waited for him to leave before coming out of her hiding place. She stared at him and smiled. Her tail moved slightly.
