Chapter 2: Chapter 2 Dungeon Raid

Soon as Simon logged in he could see the once barren village, was filled to the brim with players. Simon could see the results of his efforts.

He could find all types of players some who were curious about how the Stellar worked, some who were trying to find ways to exploit the game, there were quite a few professional gamers, some were trying to explore the new world.

Simon, glanced at a few player and could sense the aura of players and predict their levels, so he could precive that the highest level reached by players was level 3.

It might sound like the leveling speed of other players was rather slow, since most players joined Stellar by the 5th day still the highest level was 3, the reason for that was rather than a game Stellar is a training ground, so it made players focus on skills, techniques and control, rather than using brute strength to overpower the foe, although it wasn't applicable to some hidden classes.

So the even level 1 mobs could use and change strategies, though Simon did exploit them, and used their tactics against them, it was possible because he has a lot more experience than any other player.

Of course, in the future most players would be able to fight normally after they get customised to the game.

However, in the last 10 days the players earned reputation points by completing the quest, some quests or dungeons had a certain requirements like reputation points, class, or sometimes even money, reputation points were one of the most common requirement.

Simon who didn't log into Stellar for the last 10 days had been lacking reputation points, so he began completing quests like killing foxes, following a hunter, collecting berries and many more.

The players who noticed Simon who had been completing quests non-stop nicknamed him as the quest maniac.

Many tried to ask Simon whether he triggered some hidden quest or something. Simon simple ignored them with a indifferent expression.

Simon then moved to the outskirts of the village, there stood a dungeon, Simon had been collecting reputation points to enter dungeon, he simply sat there and waited outside dungeon, as it required one to have at least a party of 4 members.

Shortly, Simon saw three players approaching the dungeon, as the players saw Simon, they sent a invitation to for the dungeon raid, Simon accepted the invitation soon along with Simon the other players teleported inside the dungeon.

As they entered the dungeon, jne of the three players said arrogantly to Simon "hey, you just stay here and let us do our work"

Simon didn't mind him and followed them as the raid continued

the dungeon consisted of goblins.Though goblins were quite agile, the three players did fight them quite efficiently among the players there was a mage, priest and a knight.

The knight would kill the goblins and protected the other two players, the mage used mana missile on the goblins and made a shield when required to protect the either two, meanwhile the the priest healed them. They were interdependent, although if one of them was killed the others would most likely wipe out, still it was a smart tactic.

After short while their raid progress rate was at 60%, the goblins changed their strategy and now instead of confronting them upright they started using long range weapons, which made it hard for the knight to attack them since he aced in melee fights he couldn't attack the goblin.

Shortly the mage who had been fighting alone and was the sole long-range damage dealer, was exhausted of his mana, just as the other two learned about it, they abandoned the hope to clear the dungeon and were waiting to die.

Seeing them give up, Simon finally decided to step in.

The priest said "hey what can you do? Even we were defeated, what can you do?"

Simon ignored him, though he had been arrogant babbling, Simon didn't mind him since his arrogant words were backed up with his skills and strength.

Simon, unsheathed his sword, seeing him the trio was confused, wasn't he a mage why is he using a sword? Is he trying to show off since he saw our skills and wants to please us? No matter what they thought it just didn't make sense.

The next moment they were flabbergasted. Simon who they considered a small fry killed 10 goblins in an instant, wasn't his control over his movements too perfect. Every swing Simon made killed a goblin without exception, even the projectiles fired by the goblins were blocked by Simon's sword.

Soon the priest thought of his words of mockery towards Simon, wasn't this magician better than him, the priest felt ashamed, the others weren't much different though they didn't mock and were quite humble, they didn't considered Simon could help them.

Shortly after they recovered from the shock, it wasn't because they were shameless, rather it was because they had long accepted the fact that there would always be someone better than them.

They started observing Simon as he moved, as he connected his attacks, how he dodged the attacks made by the goblins. If one saw carefully they a see a small mana shield on his arms which he would use to block attacks, the trio had been terrified to think that someone could use a shield so small to defend himself, to achieve a feat like that one would require extremely sharp senses.

Simon had been able to play the mere tricks in front of them because he use his sword domain, to be able to precive another's domain one himself needed to comprehend a domain. So the trio had no idea that Simon was using the abilities of Domain.

Simon who mastered it could finish the battle in a extremely short time but he tried to push himself to the limits rather than using other abilities of the domain Simon used one of its most basic ability, it was enhanced senses, it allowed Simon's senses to be heightened to the limit, due to this Simon could feel everything within his domain from the goblin's attack to their grunt while being pierced by Simon's sword.

Soon, 5 minutes passed, one could find all goblins beheaded, Simon decided to behead them since they had a weak defense, it would allow him to kill them in one swing rather than having to repeatedly attack them.

Meanwhile, the trio had recovered their mana, they thought with Simon's help, they could clear the dungeon.

Seeing that Simon seemed to have stopped or more like the goblin's were annihilated the knight approached Simon and said bro, let's go kill the dungeon boss. Simon nodded. The trio noticed that Simon was not very interactive, so they simply followed him to the boss room.

As they entered the boss room,

the trio were imprisoned in a mana shield, soon the trio thought they had been betrayed and were about to be killed. They had seen many similar player who were rather pleased to kill player than monster part of a reason for that being since they wished to fight against experts and gain fame while the major reason being simply their wish to kill others.

To their suprise Simon rather than killing them he was approaching the the dungeon boss, isn't he a bit too self confident?, Even though he has the skills, he couldn't be thinking of soloing the boss on top of that it was at level 5, although Simon leveled to level 4 after slaying the goblins, the difference between stats of a player and a monster were different.

If a level 3 player has 13 base strength, meanwhile a level 3 monster has 18 strength

A boss at level 3 would have 30 strength.

Simon had originally intended to kill the boss by using the trio but Simon felt the goblins were too weak to be test his domain ability and he couldn't precive the limit of domain's enhanced sense ability, since Simon's stats were superior to them in all aspects. Simon happened to have a opponent worthy to see the limits of the enhanced senses.

The boss monster of the dungeon was a Hobgoblin, it resembles a large, muscled human, it had a skin tone similar to dull yellow. After analysing the surrounding for a split moment, Simon entered the hobgoblin's AOD (area of detection), the hobgoblin raged it swung his axe towards Simon ducked a little and the axe swung past him. The hobgoblin didn't pause and kept assaulting Simon continuously Simon didn't fight back instead he kept avoiding the hobgoblin's repeated onslaught by moving as little as possible.

The hobgoblin was utterly enraged when he saw that Simon kept dodging his strikes, due to it, the hobgoblin entered in a berserk stage and had his stats increased by 10, at the cost of losing control of his body, right now it had simply one goal in its mind that was to slaughter the one who has humiliated him.

Simon who now had been satisfied by abilities of the domain, it was now time for him to finish off the hobgoblin.

He fired a fireball towards the hobgoblin, the hobgoblin lunged out of its way and hit a stone pillar behind it, Simon had been aiming for the the pillar to fall on the hobgoblin since it would immobile the hobgoblin and would provide him some time to deal damage to the hobgoblin.

Soon as the pillar fell on hobgoblin, Simon started using fireballs one after another right after the continuous assaults of Simon's fireball the hobgoblin's health depleted by half. The hobgoblin freed itself and once again attacked Simon, Simon parried the hobgoblin's strength attribute was much higher than his and caused his counterattack to be useless, the hobgoblin's axes slashed one-fourth of Simon's heath.

Simon leaped back, he could feel the difference between his and the hobgoblin was huge, Simon was stingy, extremely cautious and would push himself to the very limit. This personality was the reason why Simon didn't use the free attribute points he gained, he depended on skills rather than brute strength, he trained himself to be a plain canvas, whatever the challenge is he will adapt himself to it.

It was quite obvious he couldn't defeat the hobgoblin with his current stats, he clenched his stats and increased all stats by 5 points all his all stats right now were 29.

Seeing that Simon had retreated, the hobgoblin charged towards Simon. But opposite to his expectations Simon who could seem to block his assaults was now able to parry his attacks. Simon, disappeared from the hobgoblin's front and appeared behind him and swung his sword towards the hobgoblin's neck, the hobgoblin's health once again felt, but Simon didn't stop and pierced his heart and the hobgoblin's health reached 0 and it fell.

Killed a Hobgoblin + 100exp

After the defeating the hobgoblin, Simon leveled up by three levels and reached level 7. The trio leveled up to level 5.

The body of the hobgoblin started to disappear and what was left behind was the loot. At the same instant the shield imprisoning the trio had dissipated.

The trio were astonished as they saw something unbelievable. However, Simon approaches them and said "I have taken the magic skill book you may have all things left in the loot".

The mage did wish to ask for the magic skill book, but since he didn't contribute in slaying the boss, he didn't have a skin thick enough for him to shamelessly ask for the magic spell book.

Soon the knight said hey bro do you wish to join our guild?, as long as you accept, no matter the price we will pay for it to recruit you.

Simon politely declined and said I have no plans of joining any guild for now, I might think about it in the future.

The knight looked quite disappointed and he said then would mind accepting my friend request.

Simon nodded in a few moments he received the friend request.

Sword buster sent you a friend request do you wish to accept?

Yes/No

After seeing their name Simon realised who they and why their skills were better than the other players at this stage of game

The trio in far future would be known as war artists the were named so because the trio had an amazing compatibility and their classes made up for each other's weakness. The fights with the trio with their coordination felt more like a art rather than a battle. They were ranked among the top 200, although it might sound like a small feat but being able to enter the top 1,000 meant they had enough power to massacre masses.

Simon accepted their friend request then departed Simon felt his leveling speed had been quite slow, though it was fast compared to others, it was just that he couldn't wait anymore and wished to level to level 10 and unlock his first spirit ability and have his class promoted.
