Chapter 3: Not Exactly What We Wanted

Slate slowed his descent, his metal feet clacking on the asphalt road, the heat from his jets melting it behind him. Once he had landed on the ground, he shut down his jet system and began to slowly walk forward.

~Myrion energy levels are in process of being restored; current energy level: eighty-seven percent.~ Indra spoke.

"Good. There's plenty in reserve, then." Slate responded. "Anything on radar?"

~Nothing that I can pick up as of yet. Stay alert, the Ligrass can hide themselves quite well. There is also the possibility, no matter how small, of there bing another Utopian here.~

"Do you think the blast from the Myrion cannon could have drawn any of them here?"

~It is not likely, though, it is plausible.~

"Hmm."

Slate saw a strange level-bar that seemed to represent some kind of reading, but he didn't know what it was for. It was strange, he could see all this information, data and graphs as though they were right there in front of his face, but at the same time, he could clearly see everything around him in the physical world. It was like he had two separate pairs of eyes each gathering information separately.

"What does this graph mean?" Slate asked.

~That is the Myrion particle level in the area. I actually do not know the reason as to why it is spiking as it is, this area should not have such high levels of Myrion.~ Indra spoke.

Slate stopped walking, peering around the city. Massive buildings reached high into the sky all around him. Once upon a time, he imagined they had been dazzling sights to behold, their countless windows shimmering in the sunlight and the genius art of architecture in its prime. Now most of the buildings were in ruin, collapsed into heaps of rubble and shattered glass. The city was completely devoid of life, which was unsettling considering its seemingly endless expanse.

His eyes rested on the skeleton of a deceased human. He walked over to it, his metal feet clacking across the asphalt as he walked. He crouched down beside the skeleton, placing his hand on the skull.

"Do you think it is because of how many people died here? You said Myrion comes from organisms, so-"

~Incorrect. Myrion is unique to only the organisms of this planet, it is not possible for humans to contain it in their chemical make-up, as Myrion is an extremely toxic chemical to humans due to its immense energy.~

"I see.. then do you think it's possible there is another Utopian here? That's the only conclusion I can come up with." Slate asked, standing back up.

~As I stated before, it is plausible.~

Myrion particles began to drift from Slate's jets as he slowly rose into the air, ascending above the buildings. He began to scan the city his system being able to zoom in and scan different details and sectors of the city at an incredible speed.

~There.~ Indra said suddenly, zooming in on a figure sitting atop what was left of a crumbled building.

"What is that?" Slate asked.

~A Utopian, although, I cannot determine which unit it is from this distance.~

"Well, then we should go great them." Slate said, flying over the buildings towards the other Utopian.

~Do be careful, as there rogue units that could pose a threat to us.~ Indra warned.

"Rogue? I doubt it. It isn't very likely."

~It is more likely than you would think.~

Slate slowed his flight, hovering above the target as he descended down to the ground before the other Utopian.

The other unit was a deep red with a thin frame-design. Skate assumed it was for agility. It's shoulders were formed in a sort of diamond-like shape and hooked, blade-like wings extended from its back. It's head was thin and narrow, two long horns pointing back extending from the crown of its helm. It had two thin gold eyes. The Utopian's hands were larger than Indra's, each finger ending in what appeared to be black talons. It's legs were more similar to that of the hind legs of a dog and what seemed to be a spiked tail like a dragon's hung from its back side.

The most intriguing thing that Slate noticed was the large gash along the unit's head and torso. It had destroyed the unit's right eye and severed off the end of it's horn.

~Slate, we need to retreat immediately. I do not advise engaging this unit.~

"Why? He's one of-"

*KRA-KOOM*

In a sudden blur of motion and speed, the other unit flashed forward, it's body lighting up with red energy as it seemed to teleport in front of Slate, it's palm extended towards him as a blast of red energy slammed into the Indra, sending Slate's frame exploding through the air before crashing through three buildings and skidding to a stop on the road, slamming into the side of a car.

"Damnit.." Slate cursed, his vision blurred with static as he forced himself to his feet. "Why did I design sensors in my unit? I can feel pain as a robot! What the hell is this? Why did he attack me?"

~That is the Kumara unit, a rogue Utopian. It was critically damaged in battle, resulting in the mainframe of the conscience to be damaged, resulting in a wrathful berserker of destruction. We need to leave, you are not ready for an enemy of his level.~ Indra insisted.

The sound of hissing thrusters came as the Kumara unit descended from the sky, staring blankly down at Slate.

"I don't think that will be an option, Indra." He said, standing up.

~You cannot fight him, Slate. Even if you are victorious, the Indra unit will sustain too much damage and the Ligrass will be drawn here by the battle. This unit will not be able to resist them and we will be captured.~

"It will be fine," Slate said, shaking out Indra's limbs, "Trust me. I got this."

~I have gone through the data and reran it multiple times over, this does not end well. Please retreat.~

"Again, I highly doubt he will simply let us walk away." Slate spoke.

The Kumara unit landed in front of Indra, turning off it's thrusters. It held open both hands, red Myrion particles gathering into it's palms.

"Turn up the power to the shields. We are going to fight."

I did not get the names from Naruto by the way. It is Kumara not Kurama lol. Also, Indra is the god of lightning in Hindu lore, while Kumara is the Hindu god of war.
