Opening the gate, what he saw made him stop in his track and his heartbeat started to race.
Liam's father was laying on the bed; different kinds of devices and equipment were attached to his body.
Oxygen tube constantly delivering oxygen, Heart pulse monitor monitoring patients' heartbeats and other different types of equipment were attached to his body.
Liam stood at the gate looking at his father's condition.
When the doctor told him that his father was out of danger and they will give him a discharge, he thought that his father's condition wasn't that bad;
but now looking through his eyes he realised that it was still like this after the emergency treatment and he didn't want to think about what would have happened if they didn't treat him in time. It would have definitely been awful if not life-threatening.
Noticing Liam wasn't moving through the gate Anna tried to peek from the sideways and caught Mr Lewis laying on a hospital bed with equipment and a syringe attached to his body.
She understood what Liam was going through at this moment if it was her she would also be the same.
She has been with Liam for quite some time now; she also knows Mr and Mrs Lewis very well as she has been to their house a lot in the past in the family gatherings or parties or to meet Liam or just casually.
That's why she knew how Mr and Mrs were and how their family relationships were. Mr and Mrs Lewis, we're kind and caring parents even though their family is one of the leading families in Europe.
And we know how top families work. People think it is easy for them to live an extravagant and cosy life without any care in the world; however, it is not quite like that.
From externally it looks all prosperous and promising but internally there is a lot of friction between them. As people try to covet their wealth and business, there is no relationship when it comes to business.
Even blood-related brothers and sisters turn against each other to gobble up everything like hungry wolf's.
Contracts and marriages between families to achieve their goals were a common stuff that people didn't know about. Stuff like happens a lot in the background but they cover it so as to not let the public know about it and keep their image clean. Not every day is sunny.
They will do anything to achieve their purpose and fulfil their goals. When it comes to equity and fortune there is no blood relationship, only you are you and I am me; that's it.
However, it was different with the Lewis family. Me and Mrs Lewis were like always a kind and caring parents a child could ask for.
They raised Liam with lots of love and care and is not like another Top family to use their son to expand their scope.
When they found out from Liam that he and Anna are a lover and they both love each other; they didn't raise any objection against their relationship and supported them with all their hearts.
Mr and Mrs Lewis treated Anna like their daughter rather than daughter in law. Always taking care of her as her second mom and dad.
It is not like Anastasia white is not a good choice for their son. Instead, Anastasia White is known as the princess of White Group, one of the leading groups, the same as the Lewis family Group. Plenties of
Young master and owner of big companies and households yearned for her and asked for her hand in marriage but she rejected them all outright without giving them any face.
Anastasia didn't crave power or money; her family had both... Plenty. If she just voices out there will be lines of young masters and businessmen in front of her. But her reason is simple: if you don't love another person, what is there to be with him?
That is also the reason why Mr and Mrs Lewis like her a lot and didn't disagree with Liam and her relationship. Even if it was any other girl and Liam loved her they still won't object to Liam's relationship.
For them, Liam's happiness and comfort is the most important thing. For this reason, Anna respects Mr and Mrs Lewis. As they guide and support Liam and let him decide his future and watch his back rather than leading his life and take his decision.
Looking at Mr Lewis's condition Anna understood that Liam was worried looking at his father in this condition. So, she gently placed her hands on his shoulders without saying anything else.
Feeling someone's touch Liam broke from his stupor and turned to look behind only to watch Anna lean against him.
"Just go. Uncle needs you." Anna whispered and continued,
"look he is fine. So, don't think anything bad about it. Just pray to the gods for letting him out of danger."
"He needs your support in these dire times, just stand beside him." Anna rubs her head on her back.
"You are right. I should be standing beside him at these times." Liam answered her and stuttered, "B-but..."
"Shush... Everything will be okay." Anna tightened her grip. "Let's go."
Liam walked towards the bed, reaching out for a stool he sat on it and held his father's hand.
"F-father..." Liam muttered.
Albert Lewis, Liam's father opened his eyes after listening to his son's calling for him. Turning his head he looks at Liam through his blurry eyes.
"Xiao Liam.." Albert Lewis called out feebly.
"F-father it's me, Liam; Your son." Liam spoke listening to his father.
"How... How are you? Do you want me to call the top doctor? Just tell me if you feel any discomfort." Liam asked his father if he was feeling okay or not.
"Don't worry I am not that old." Albert Lewis laughed weakly and tried to lighten the mood.
"What are you mumbling about? You just got into an accident... An accident, you understand that." Liam replied looking at his father weighing on the word 'accident'.
"Haha.."
"Please refrain yourself from talking loudly and you too patiently try to rest. It's not good for your health to take the stress." a nurse interrupted them from the side.
"I-i am sorry." Liam was embarrassed. He didn't even notice the nurse when coming inside the room.
