I was currently working on my smithing along with Hephie in the forge we set up inside the house. I didn't know what I was lacking, but my level never seemed to want to reach the next threshold. It was frustrating...
[MasterSmithing-Lvl20]
I knew there had to be another tier beyond it. There had to. My smithing technique is still inferior to Hephie, although I was more or less equal to her in her weak mortal body. I knew I still had a bit to reach her actual— god— form.
"Concentrate, Ken. There is already nothing I can inform you of. It's all on you now."
Right. It was. Hephie stopped giving me lessons. There would be no meaning in doing that, she said. It would only hamper you from now on.
'You need to forge your own path.' she said. Going by the smirk on her face, I think she realised the pun. It was not that bad of a pun, to be honest, or I might be just biased.

My hammer hit the anvil yet again. This time I felt a spark, sadly it went away just as quickly. That didn't dismay me, I tried again. But it never reoccurred, no matter how many times I struck the anvil.
I felt a hand on my shoulders, it was Hephie. "Take it easy. I know you got this, Ken."
Feeling more motivated, I started hammering again. This was the end part of the project. A fully functioning magic sword is what should come out of this. There were a bunch of unfinished products lying around. Of course, unfinished by my standards. They were still magic swords, in fact, better than any magic swords that could be created in this world. But they still could not take in all the Mana and spells as I envisioned. Not good enough.
I looked at the rubble.
[Unnamed Magic Sword- Mythical]
Mithril/Adamantine Sword magic sword. One step away from the creator's, Akagi Ken, expectations. Will only break under extreme stress.
I shook my head, no need to think about the failures.
My instincts rumbled and I listened to them. Metaphorical sparks kept going off in my brain as I worked on the anvil's sword-shaped metal piece.
'Right. That's it.'
Time seemed to slow down, and that peculiar feeling of everything going right coursed through me. I was definitely going to make this thing.
"You definitely have this, Ken." I heard Hephie say. And that gave me all the confidence I needed to go on.
I nodded.

That was the final strike. I closed my eyes, afraid to open them to see the results. Just as I opened them, I could feel something siphoning my MP at a frightening rate. I took a look at the finished product.
[Divine sword( Incubating)]
The shell that would hold the first-ever divine sword made by a mortal in the world of Danmachi. A certain amount of Mana is needed to incubate it.
It had to be the sword that was eating up my MP.
[Rejuvenation- Rank A+]
The user regenerates 2% of his MP every second. The user regenerates 1% of his HP every second.
I looked at my Rejuvenation skill… This thing was still going through my MP like a hungry infant going through breast milk.
[Akagi Ken-Lvl6]
HP: 23920
MP: 6590/11450
…I don't think it would have been manageable without the skill.
Hephie noticed my state, she even ignored the sword which I'm sure she's rather curious about. "Is something wrong, Ken?"
I shook my head," Not really…" I gestured to the sword in front of me. It was a strange 'sword'. It looked more like a sword-shaped bone, to be honest. Furthermore, it was even pulsing.
"It's taking my reserves at a rapid rate…" I informed her.
She widened her eyes," It is?"
"I'm as clueless as you here, Hephie… Other the fact that this is supposed to be a divine sword at the end of the day."
I chugged an MP potion while conversing with her. This thing would have sucked me dry otherwise.
"A divine sword!!" she grabbed my shoulders, shook me, and looked right in the eyes. "It's taking your reserves, right? Are you sure?" she rapidly questioned.
I was slightly surprised by her enthusiasm. "Yes…"
Her expression warped from a shocked one into a frankly creepy smiley one. She alternated her look between the sword and I.
"Give me your hand." she 'asked'. My Hephie noted my apprehension, "Just trust me on this one, Ken."
It's not like I don't trust you, sweetie. But that smile… I know you are up to something strange.
I sighed and relented at the end giving her my hand. She guided it all the way to the 'Sword'. Hephie muttered some gibberish and suddenly a small stream of yellow-orange energy shot out of her and the MP syphoning intensified on my part. The blue and yellow streams mixed out in the air in a show of harmony, only to be forcefully inserted into the sword again.
I was about to ask her what was going on. "Shush. It's happening." She grabbed my hand and gestured to the scene.
And something did indeed happen. Those blue and yellow streams somehow transformed into a Kaleidoscopic range of colours.
"Wow," I muttered faintly. The scene was breathtaking.
"I know right," Hephie responded, squeezing my hand.
The MP sucking effect stopped briskly.
[Hephaestus/Ken Sword- Divine.]
As if a mortal crafting a divine sword was not enough, the current weapon is a sword holding a fragment of the divinity of the forging god Hephaestus. The first of its kind. Represents the love and affection Hephaestus has for the sword holder, Akagi Ken.
That was… beyond what I was expecting.
I looked at Hephie.
She lightly slapped my shoulder."Stop it, silly. I just wanted something special." She lightly kissed my cheek.
"You're just too special…"
[MasterSmithing Lvl20]—>[DivineSmith: Lv1]
No longer is the user confined by mortal thinking, divine constructs and weapons can be made with enough effort. Proficiency raises as the level goes up.
I looked at Hephie who just stood there. She seemed to have anticipated my change.
[Hephaestus (Divine)- Lvl1]
HP: 180000
MP: 95000
"You can actually see..."
I couldn't hear anything past that, because I naturally found myself looking at Hephie's right eye. Beyond the surface, I could see that same massive titan that almost killed me that time when I sealed Hephi's curse.
Looking back, that was a dumb move on so many levels...
[Kronos (Divine)- Lvl5]
HP: 460000
MP: 210000
The thing looked surprised at how I gazed at him. A wide grin crept up on its ashy face. It put its hand forward and bellowed me to come.
"Ken, stop it."
I only came out of my state after hearing that.
Drawing close to Hephie, I said. "Kronos. I will kill you one day…" I will surely free her from this curse. One way or the other.
"You can even see HIM, huh?"
I nodded. I assumed she was talking about that mad titan.
"You know. It wouldn't be wrong to call you my son now, Ken," she said, grinning and cocking her eyebrows up.
'Kinky…'
"Mommy?" I tilted my head.
I hummed as I drew close to her and held her delicate waist. "Maybe you and I can do some mommy-son things?"
"Wouldn't you like that? Mommy~" I whispered, nibbling at her earlobes and brushing the crimson hair that reached her waist.
"Eh." Hephie short-circuited, and an atomic blush decorated her face.
Hehe. You're still millions of years away from teasing me.
I obviously knew she meant more by that, but priorities... Can't leave sweetie hanging like that, can I?
Deciding to sacrifice myself for my beloved, I teleported us to the bedroom. A noble act indeed.
Sooner than later, moans and grunts dominated escaped the room as we made love the proper 'Mom and Son' way.
