Chapter 2: Ridho's Best Friend

Part 2

"Mom, persuade Daddy please, so that he agrees Dora study outside the city. In Jogja it is possible, Bandung is also allowed."

"You know Ra, once your daddy has made a decision it won't be easy to change."

"But Mom, Dora doesn't want to study there."

"Why, because there is Ridho there?" I was silent, mom's guess is always right.

Even though I said I don't want to be his girlfriend anymore, but honestly I still love him. How would I behave if later every day we always meet because of the same campus, after all there is also Sis Gita.

"Here Ra, sit near me!" I shifted closer to my mom, I learned on mom's shoulder. Mom smiled seeing my confusion, slowly stroked my hair.

"Just accept daddy's decision, you have to be strong and tough. Besides, you don't necessarily pass the test. There are many competitors." mom said.

"Ihhh mommy, are you don't believe in the ability your own child. Dora is sure that i will pass the entrance test later. But Dora doesn't want to go to college there, Mommy."

"You said that you had grown up, had grown up, wanted to be a student. But you still whined like this with your mother."

"Leave it alone, Dora doesn't want to grow up. Dora wants to be your little girl forever." I hug my mom tightly.

"You will always be my little girl, Ra. But life must go on, life must go on, son!" I lifted my head to look at my mom.

Seeing my mother's beautiful but sharp eyes made me realize that I had to be ready to face whatever happened.

--------------

"Mommy, where are you? I passed, Mom!" I shouted still at the door. Mama who was cooking in the kitchen rushed forward.

"Greetings first, Ra, don't be like Tarzan screaming at the door. You're a girl, you know."

"Ehh, i'm sorry mom, assalamualaikum my beautiful mother." I greeted my mom with a grin.

"Waalaikumsalam, let's help mommy cook. Today daddy is going home quickly. He wants to have lunch with us."

"Yes, mam, ready!" I answered.

--------

A few weeks later I was standing in front of the campus gates. Dressed in black and white, her hair was tied in two ponytails and decorated with colorful plastic strings.

I dare not look at my appearance in the mirror since this morning. I stepped steadily into the campus. But after only a few steps my feet froze. I saw that Ridho was managing his senior brother in the corner of the field.

I forgot that Bang Ridho was the student leader on this campus. Gita was also there, she had seen me because her eyes were always monitoring the campus gate.

I was forced to enter the ranks of new students. I will try not to make the slightest mistake so as not to be punished by senior brother. But damn, looks like Sis Gita is deliberately targeting me.

Whatever I did was wrong, fortunately now is no longer the age of physical law. Only light punishments such as being told to mention Pancasila, being told to sing while dancing. That's too small for me. But the last task on the last day made me sadly.

The task of requesting the signatures of all senior committee members, including Ridho as chairman. When I was still asking for another senior's signature, I saw Ridho sitting in front of the prayer room.

But when I got there he was gone. I looked around the campus. Apparently he was in the front garden of the Hall. I went to him who was signing another friend's paper.

When it was my turn, he didn't immediately accept the paper I gave him. He looked at me sharply, I looked down quickly because I saw that there was longing in Ridho's eyes.

"Bang ehh my senior brother can I ask for his autograph?" I asked breaking the silence.

With a sigh he took my paper and signed it. I cheered in my heart because my job was done.

"Thank you," I said softly. I turned and walked out onto the field.

"Dora, I miss you dear." Ridho's voice was soft but I could still hear it.

I stopped for a moment but I immediately stepped my foot because I saw at the end Gita was heading here. The closing ceremony ended and closed with a handshake between seniors and juniors.

We freshmen walked around the seniors, shaking hands and saying sorry and congratulations to each other. Arriving in front of Bang Ridho, I just shook hands without speaking as well as Gita who was standing beside him.

--------------

I can't believe I've been studying at this campus for a month. I am grateful that different faculties make the intensity of my meeting with Bang Ridho very rare.

In the afternoon, after finishing my last course, I didn't go straight home. I made an appointment with Minar, my classmate, to a bookstore. After buying the book, we stopped at the cafe in front of the bookstore.

While waiting for the order to arrive, I saw Ridho and Gita enter the cafe as well. They chose a seat on the cafe terrace so they didn't see me sitting inside. Minar also saw their arrival earlier.

"It's a pity that Ridho has a friend, how come he is possessive over his girlfriend." I was surprised to hear Minar's explanation.

"It means?" I asked.

"That's right, they said they were friends. Only friends but everywhere they were always alone. If Bang Ridho is near another girl, Gita doesn't seem happy."

"Perhaps they were dating when they just pretended to be friends."

"My sister said no, Ridho always changed girls. Nothing was old, the reason was that the girls didn't like it because Ridho was more attentive to Gita."

"One of them is me, Nar." I said but in my heart.

"But now, Ridho is never seen with a girlfriend anymore. He said that since he was dumped by a girl who is still a high school student. Now maybe he is in college like us." Connect Minar.

"You mean me?" I asked but still in my heart.

"How can it be like that huh?" I finally asked Minar.

"I don't know, I also only heard from my cousin who is in the same class as Bang Ridho." Minar replied.

What's the secret between them? I'm so stupid, it's none of my business anymore.

"Nar, I'm going to the toilet in a minute!" I rushed to the toilet.

When I came out of the toilet I almost bumped into someone. It turned out that Sis Gita, after apologizing I immediately left him. I invited Minar to go home because it was getting late.

We walked out of the cafe and when we passed Ridho's seat, Minar greeted him while I just glanced at him without greeting him. It turns out that I still have that feeling, but what does that longing look in your eyes mean? Also the words I miss it?

Do you still have the same feelings as me? I looked back, she smiled at me, I wanted to reply but couldn't when I saw the figure of Gita's who had just come out of the cafe door.

What's really going on between Ridho and Sis Gita?
