Chapter 10: a new start
"so what do we do about this" fort whispered to glace "lets just watch a little longer before doing something" glace said looking at the rageful one she stared for a while " hey look" glace said pointing at his flames " his flames are red now instead of black" glace said to fort while looking for something " yeah what about it" fort asked "maybe his flames turn darker the angrier he gets" "all right but what are we going to" fort asked not understanding her explanation "I'll make a device that repeats "hey you lets make a deal" and try to talk him over" glace said making the device and linking it to her throat and threw it near him " hey you" the device called the rageful one looked down at it "lets make a deal" his flames turned blue the device repeated itself and his flames turned purple.
"glace call back your device before you get hurt" mellow cried out but it was too late the device repeated and his flames turned black and he let out a deafening roar and sprinted at it and stomped on it. Glace coughed blood and fell over "shit what happened" fort yelled mellow and seduce ran over " any device glace makes has to be linked somewhere to her body to convey what she wants" mellow yelled trying to figuring out what to do. Glace's throat was almost crushed flat with the skin near chest and chin peeled away revealing muscle " fort get behind her and prop her put, mellow hold her neck back into a cylinder" seduce yelled healing her " damnit only is I had some light to see what I was doing" seduce yelled. Light came from behind her but was to focused to see where it came from " thanks fort" seduce said " I-I-It wasn't me" fort said trembling seduce paused and realized the only thing bright enough to light up the abyss she looked up to see the man of fire looming over her looking at her, she instinctually ran and hid behind fort. His flames were red again he knelt down and made claws of light on his hand and reached for Glace's throat mellow tried to stop him, but seduce caught him and drew him near her breast and whispered " relax mellow that healing magic" mellow tried to resist but was to tired, he moved his hand away from her throat it was fully healed and she started breathing again.
They rest sighed with relief and fell quickly asleep after their long exhausting day the rageful one picked them up and set them next to each other and grabbed some fire and weaved a blanket out of it and put healing magic on it to not burn them and put it on them, they instinctually grabbed at the warmth and smiled snugly. Then he sat down in front of them "from god slayer to human to god why can't my life be simple … perhaps I'll sleep to" he thought his red eyes within the fire closed and fell asleep
The next day glace was the first to wake she stretched and felt the warmth " who knew the abyss was so warm" she turned and opened her eyes to see fort in front of her face, her face redden and she backed up to see the blanket of fire she looked down see find any burns but there were none, she looked at the soft light around her friends "so pretty like snow at night" she thought. She looked to her left and saw the rageful one asleep sitting in front of them watch them "so he's able to show compassion not just rage" she thought she crawled over to him and looked into the swirling flames in the hood curiosity filled her and she reached for the flames inside the hood. His eyes lit up stopping her advance "uh-uh ah I wanted to ask you something" her face redden and she started to fidget, he looked her in the eyes and nodded. "do you know a guy named morphis-" she was interrupted was his flames turning blue she backed away. He looked down and saw he flames he sighed it sounded like crackling of wood in a fire his flames went red again and he beckoned her over "he was our leader and I wanted to see if the new guy knew anything" she relaxed and continued. The rageful one started fidget and sweat (if he could) and became restless "so you do know mind telling me" she said growing impatient.
He knew that she couldn't hurt him but knew that mad women terrifying and slowly pointed to the bloody mess her heart sank "do you have any evidence" she said hoping he was lying he stared at her lost in thought then tried to speak but what came out was just crackles and pops "what" she asked confused he grunted in disappointment he grabbed fire and wrote text saying "do you have a mind sharing device" "no but I can make a memory projector" she said making the device and linking it to her hand he used the remaining fire to make a wall of fire for the memories
The others started to shift and move seduce was the first to wake she sat up and saw them talking "lovebirds already don't count me out" she said jumping on them and groping their chests "we're nor l-l-l-love birds" glace stuttered her face redden the rageful one didn't flinch "oh yeah?" seduce said jumping on her groping her more "get of her she's still healing" fort said walking over "really, looks fine to me" seduce said kissing her neck "I'm fine, I'm fine" glace said trying to push her off "so what's the wall of fire for" mellow asked "it's for his memories to see what happened to morphis" glace said pointing at the rageful one.
Everyone stopped and looked at the fire to see their new members past and to see where their leader went they watched the memories with crying, puking ang fear seeing what happened to their leader and to see what happens if you make the rageful one mad. "so morphis bit off more he could chew" fort said they wanted to yell at him for saying it to soon but could not disagree " but he brought us a new companion how sweet" glace said teary eyed " mmmm how sweet indeed" seduce said looking at him liking her lips. he tried to speak but it was just more crackles his flames turned blue "Ooooo don't worry I like feisty" she whispered in his ear stroking his arm. He grabbed fire and wrote "no I'm trying to speak but I can't" "well technically you are speaking but it's in fire spirt so we can't understand you" he grunted in satisfaction for a good answer. "But what do we do now" mellow asked "well morphis wanted to go down to the world and use are emotions for something" "well how do we do that" fort asked.
the rageful one grabbed some fire and wrote "well we could make a small village far away civilization but still gets wanders and live peacefully without making it known were gods" they read his plan looked at each other and nodded "so how do we do that" glace asked he wrote more pick a place you like and assign these jobs inn keeper, guild, builder, researcher, and guard. They turned to each other and started talking "alright we've picked verdant plains it's calm with occasional weather no lord owns it and people wander though it. For the inn keeper it'll be seduce because she's good at convincing people, the researcher will be me, guild master will be mellow he good at judging power, the builder will be fort because he's the strongest one with physical power, and the guard will be you because you have the strongest power overall, also your nickname is "rage" because saying the rageful one is to tedious"
He nodded in agreement he wrote "so all we need to do is start it" they all cheered for being able to get out of the abyss fort grabbed the darkness and ripped it, and it showed their desired area they walked out into the fresh falling snow "ugh why did it have to be snowing it makes it harder to work" glace whined they didn't mind the cold sense it was colder in the abyss plus rage's fire melted the snow in a 30 foot radius " alright fort go get some trees and bring them here so we can start making houses, me and mellow will go find a village to get building equipment, you and seduce do something" glace said walking off with mellow.
Rage started to walking in long lines across the field " what are you doing" seduce asked rage wrote " making a path to walk on" melting the snow around him and charring the grass " well I'm cold so stop" seduce trying to keep up with him "put on a shirt" he wrote " I can't if there's nothing around just make me something" she whined. He groaned having to deal with this whiny woman he grabbed fire and made a coat he side stepped and put it around her. she stood there amazed staring at him she didn't see him deviate from his walking path.
He continued walking looking down at the ground lost in thought, he didn't hear the wagon and group of people yelling at him he continued walking then he saw a arrow in his chest he sighed " why do people mess with me when I'm thinking its annoying" he thought he grabbed it and pulled it out and burned it to ash looking up he saw five men yelling "protect the goods" " ugh slave traders why can't the job just die out it pisses me off" he thought with his flames turning purple the men sent their to swordsmen while archers flanked and the leader mage stayed on the wagon casting ice magic
"at least they know tactics for lowly slave traders" he thought his flames turned black " the thought that there's a slave trader that use tactics for a terrible cause pisses me off more" he roared causing the traders armor shake and shatter from the vibrations making metal shards get stuck in their skin he lunged at the two swordsmen, they swung down and within a inch from rage's face the sword melted he stabbed them though the heart killing them instantly he sighed and lit the corpses on fire and threw them at the archers making them burn alive, the leader tried to run away but rage caught him by the legs and hurling him though the air with enough force to rip his legs off. The leader now lay in front of his companions legless, rage walked slowly over to him holding his severed legs the look in rage's eyes where saying you get a fitting end for you profession beating him with his legs.
his flames turned back to red after dealing with the ones who made him mad he walked away from the burning corpses and looked inside the wagon there were three girls " they look like evles" he thought he lifted up their shirts to see their stomachs "they look like they've been starved" whack " what are you doing you can't do that to children it's illegal" seduce smacked him on the back of the head his flames turned purple and roared in her face making her pass out with fear " don't do that when I'm thinking … I should tell her when she wakes up" he thought he looked over and saw to bears fighting over territory "look, dinner for three hungry children" he thought he ran over and killed them both with a blow to the head he made his fire into a rope and wrapped it around their head and walked back to the wagon,
He put seduce in the wagon too and grabbed it and walked back to the main area where he saw fort walking out of the woods carrying 10 trees " ah your back I heard your roar, scarred the birds dead" he said turning around showing five large birds on his waist, rage stopped and wrote "good we have company so keep god talk on the down low also give me a big branch" fort gave him a branch and set it on fire "so who's this company" fort asked putting more wood on the fire, rage manipulated the fire pit writing words "three elven girls who were kidnapped by slave traders, which why I brought food for us even though we don't need it" rage climbed in the wagon holding the three girls and throwing seduce in the snow " what happened to her" fort asked rage wrote " I was making sure they were being feed by lifting up their shirts and she smacked me while I was thinking and I roared in her face making her pass out in fear, please note don't do that" "noted" fort said picking her up and leaning her against a tree.
The three girls smiled in the warmth of rage " they like you" fort said skinning the bears " no they like the warmth in the cold you guys did the same back in the abyss" he wrote while putting a blanket of fire on them with healing magic " so what are you going to do with them" fort asked handing rage a piece of bear meat " just nurse them till there parents came looking for them" he wrote picking up a flat stone putting the bear meat on it and put it next to the fire.
The next day come and rage and fort were still talking, seduce yelled herself awake " rage you bastard" he looked at her and put his finger in front of his face motioning "shhhh" and pointed at the girls sleeping. seduce looked over at them and looked back at rage and pouted. The girls shifted and yawned waking put to the smell of fresh meat " they looked at the meat licking their lips but to nervous to ask. rage shifted a stone plate of meat towards them writing "carful it's hot" their eyes lit up with joy and ate like hamsters" they ate their fill and leaned back and relaxed "w-w-what happened to the bad men" one spoke up "gone" rage wrote " will they be back" another asked "no" "what happened to them" the last asked nervously "turned to ash" fort quickly knocked away the words " rage you can't tell that to children" fort yelled "why it's the truth there is a reason why I'm named rage who know" rage wrote "so that doesn't mean being blunt to children" fort tried to reason "why they'll learn it one way or another" thwack glace slapped him on the head "so they need to be innocent for as long as possible" glace said righteously
Fort's and seduce's hearts sank and rushed to cover the girls ears. Rage's flames turned purple he got up and roared in her face making her pass out with fear he turned around and saw them looking at him "what she asked for it" he wrote "you have a pretty voice mister" one of the girls said "see! finally a woman of reason " he wrote " little girl can you understand me" rage asked "yes we elves are supposed to learn the sprit language" she said proudly "at least one of us can understand him" fort said pick up glace putting her on a tree to sleep it off.
