Chapter 83: Chapter 83: Contact
After spending two hours stuffing our bellies and sightseeing at Messeldam Port, the seven of us flashed our tickets and boarded a rather fancy commuter cruise ship. It wasn't classified as a yacht due to its medium sized liner, but it was still a fancy orbal ship. We could hardly feel the swaying of the water beneath us.
And as I stated, money is pretty much no issue for me at this point. Having a certified background really does wonders. I was able to rent out the whole cruise ship to just us seven. Not even a helmsman l remained behind to steer the boat.
Out of us, only Rufus had proper knowledge of driving a vehicle, so I left it to him to be the boat's captain. Rufus didn't refuse either so that was good. I did end up tossing a few ten thousand mira for this trip, but the less my friends know about the actual expenses, the better.
Especially Van, coming from the background of an orphan. Money may be a more sensitive topic, but then again he did befriend an heiress of Calvard's capital city. And the Quincy Company no less. So who knows how he feels about money?
He wasn't against the idea of me spending it so I'll take that for now.
A couple of hours have passed marking it early afternoon now. It was wintertime now so being out on deck was pretty cold, but everyone didn't seem to mind it. Once we were on a proper course, Rufus turned on the cruise dial and joined the rest of us.
Lechter immediately began doing Lechter things. Being a lazy ass. He brought over a foldable chair to the main deck's south side from who knows where, only to lay it out near the ship's stern. He then jumped on it and stretched out his legs. Getting relaxed, Lechter brought out a fishing pole, and tossed it over the deck into the water below. To top it off Lechter closed his eyes, and started to snooze shortly after.
All of us had another deadpan look seeing Lechter now out of commission. I couldn't help but shrug my shoulders seeing this.
"Well that's one way to enjoy a boat ride.", I retorted, seeing Lechter casually fishing.
"I bet this bimbo was looking forward to this ride the most out of all of us.", Van also retorted.
"There's nothing in our way from pushing him over, right?", Sherryl said with a giggle.
"Sleazebag.", Tio said with not much emotion in her tone.
"Ouch.", I replied the moment Tio said that. Despite being just five years old, she can be pretty harsh huh?
"Hey! The Young Master said we're taking a vacation, so I'm just doing my job here. And just cause you said that I won't be sharing what I catch later tonight.", Lechter retorted back. He may have been snoozing but it looks like he was still listening to us.
This caused us to chuckle for a moment.
"But in all seriousness, you guys are good to relax and do whatever. We do have a full three days here so it's best to enjoy this cruise ship to the fullest. However I personally need to reach out to someone so I'll be making contact with them in a few.", I said to everyone.
"Who might that be?", Rufus asked with an interested look in his eyes.
"A friend of sorts. If anything, she might be a big sister to me? We studied for a while in the same town a few years back.", I explained vaguely.
"A big sister? This is the first time I'm hearing about it.", Sherryl said happily.
"I didn't think to take you for one to have relatives, Naoto.", Van also replied.
"Well we aren't related by blood, if that's what you are wondering. Would anyone be interested in another magic trick?", I replied, grinning.
"Another magic trick?", Tio asked with interest. "Like that red sphere you created a while ago?", Tio continued to ask.
"Similar, but same concept.", I answered Tio. She quickly nodded her head while the rest remained confused but had interest. Sherryl was more interested since she had seen more of my magic, but Ennea and Van just stayed silent. Rufus was confused though but wasn't against it.
"ANDDD as for a certain someone, you best watch now or forever hold your peace.", I quickly retorted, shifting my eyes toward Lechter. By the time I looked at my friends and back to him, he could now be seen wearing sunglasses.
"Seriously?", I retorted again, seeing Lechter's sunglasses out.
"What do you mean by that, Young Master? I'm just having my fun.", Lechter said, revealing a grin. "But what is it that you are about to do?"
"Whatever. I don't care if you watch any longer.", I responded, shaking my head a bit. Turning toward the west side of the ship, I reached out my hand.
Everyone expected nothing happened, but the moment they saw my hand vanish into a small black hole, their eyes turned wide. Ignoring their surprise, I pulled out a staff of sorts. It was a staff similar to Vita's imitation staff. Roselia had also crafted one for me when I was training with her back at Eryn.
And now I use this training staff for my own use when I need to cast more complex spells. The Gamer system had yet to trigger chants without casting but I hope that will happen soon. Until then, I need to use this staff.
"The hell? Is that a staff?", Van replied while still in shock.
"Yes it is.", I smiled, hearing that. Closing my Inventory, I took the staff in hand and raised it horizontally. Letting my Mana run free, a bluish purple aura soon wrapped around my body which startled everyone beside me again. Even Lechter lifted his sunglasses up in shock.
"Resound, resound, O voice everlasting...Rend Night's silent veil and reveal unto all the beautiful world. Open up, phantasmal window. Phantasmagoria!", I shouted, letting my Mana burst forth. After Phantasmagoria finished casting, Beyond us further in the sky a mirror of sorts began to crack open out of nowhere. It was as if a window had appeared, quickly connecting to the other side of it. Upon the completion of the spell, a rather beautiful fifteen year old sandstone color haired girl appeared in the once empty window which could now be seen over us.
Seeing the figure in front of us, or rather partially since the window cut off most of her body, she blinked in shock seeing me and several others.
"N-N-Naoto?", the figure exclaimed in shock.
"Oh good, the connection was successfully established. How you've been, Vita?", I replied, seeing the shocked girl over us.
