Chapter 2: I'm Martins
"Wake up!!!" I woke up to my sister's shouting as always.
Damn, I can't sleep all I want in this house.
"Ohh, can't I sleep for thirty more minutes? I'm so sleepy..." Closing my eyes, I mumbled loud enough for her to here.
"Girl, something is wrong with you...I told you that we're shifting today. Get your lazy ass up and pack up your bags." my sister, Rose said before strolling out of the room.
I lazily yawned as I stretched my arms before silently sitting on my bed.
I checked the bed side clock and it was already 11:43 in the morning. 'oh my gosh...am such a sleep head.' I thought to myself as I passed my hands through my hair before walking to the bathroom to get freshened.
As always, am not too much into breakfast so I ate my lunch and went for my bags.
"Well, are you done packing?" Rose asked as she pulled out a chair for herself to sit.
"hmm" came my simple reply as I continued chewing my food.
"Then some people will take everything to the new house and for us, we are leaving right after this..." I looked at her with misbelief.
Like who the hell is going to another house this noon....hahaha she must be jocking.
"I will move evening time...I have things to attend to." she looked at me with slight anger but who cares..
I got up from my seat and went for my bag before leaving the house. "I can't move to a new house in day time.. People like new faces. I will go at night hehe." I mumbled to my self while walking down the stairs to the ground floor.
Where am I even going?
I decided to walk on the streets and visit some stores as I didn't have where to go and hey, I have no friends.
Soon it was 7: 30 in the evening. I took a cab to our new house which was a few miles away from our former house.
"Finally you though of going home." I looked at Rose who was setting the kitchen and rolled my eyes at her behavior. Always Nagging.
"Aunt Linda...." my nephew and niece said in unison as soon as they saw me.
"Long time my babies. How have you been?" I hugged both of them.
"Well, we are here to stay with you and Mom so you won't miss us anymore." said Melissa as she looked at me with her cute puppy eyes.
"Yes Aunt Linda. we will stay here and sleep with you all night. we missed you more." Mike hugged me as we all laughed together..
"Now we should celebrate that we are going to stay together from today.. let me help you guys shower first and Mom will prepare dinner, how?
"Let's do this" said Melissa and we ran to the bathroom laughing endlessly.
We both are our dinner grinning from ear to ear as the kids kept on telling us funny stories .
10pm
"I will take a walk in the garden and familiarize myself with the place." I told Rose who was on her way to the bedroom.
"Be careful out there. we have just come and we ain't familiar with this place slot." Her tone was full of concern.
I nodded and hugged her before walking out silently.
I walked to the garden which had a relaxing fragrance of lavender, my favorite. I inhaled deeply and closed my eyes to feel more of the nourishing atmosphere.
I admired the beautiful garden as I walked towards the water fountain and then found a swing on the other side.
I sat comfortably on the swing and slowly started moving, closing my eyes and enjoying the feeling.
Suddenly, I felt another figure seated on the swing and I slowly opened my eyes. I was welcomed by a pair of blue eyes staring deep into mine.
I looked down to the sharp nose and the jaws oh my God.... handsome.
"Hey..." a warm voice brought me back from wherever I was.
"H...hey." I replied shyly.
"I'm Martins. Nice to meet you...."
"Linda Williams...nice to meet you too." we shook hands.
"Are you the new neighbor who moved in a few hours back?"
"Y..yes" I replied without staring at him because his sharp gaze was already on me.
"Oh, I'm your neighbor as well. Just the second door after yours. If you need anything then you can find me."
Okay
We sat silently as the swing kept on moving. somehow I felt strange being around this Martins so I decided to stand up and go back to my house.
"Well, I will be going back inside since it's getting cold outta here." He smiled broadly at my words showing me his beautiful dental arrangement.
"Let's go up. I also have to rest early." He is weird.
"I will say good night my beautiful neighbor." he smiled and I smiled weirdly to him.
"Good night too."
I woke up to the rays of sunshine that kissed my face. Today I woke up a little bit early because the kids were already singing the song and I couldn't sleep any longer.
I kissed them good morning and led them to the shower. Once I was done with helping them, I helped myself too.
Downstairs
Rose was moving up and down preparing breakfast.
"Good morning."
"Good morning Linda. Can you go out and get me some eggs please? I kinda forgot bringing them yesterday." she continued her work.
I went to the near by grocery and was about to pick some yoghurt for myself when a strong hand took it before me.
"No manners...." I was about to start giving a lesson when I saw who it was.
"Martins?" my voice was almost a whisper as I melted under his gaze.
," uhm... morning. I also need this yoghurt as well. You can take it some other day." he said and immediately made his way to the counter.
"hopeless...."
