< 30/7/33 | The day of the meeting between the Hokage and the Raikage >
[Tobiramas P.O.V.]
I had sent a reconaissance troupe to our meeting spot. They were sent ahead to look out for possible ambushes and traps along the way.
We had set camp 3 hours away from said meeting spot. We had to be prepared for the worst.
The Hyuga clan head as well as several other council members were heavily against the meeting but once I accepted to take a Hyuga with me, the protests calmed down.
The group had several sensor type shinobi paired with the byakugan user, I was sure that nothing could escape their sight.
After waiting for a while a masked shinobi arrived in front of me. The mask had the shape of a dog. Every Anbu had to wear masks in order to hide their identity. They were a special undercover organization I created back when Hashirama was still alive. They had only one goal: to serve the Hokage in protecting the village. They would take the burden that simple shinobi couldn't handle. They would become the shadows that mercilessly kill any obstacle to Konohas peace and well being.
"Lord Hokage, we received a report that the Raikage was on his way. We estimate his arrival in about 2 and a half hours. He seems to to have a small entourage of strong jounins with him. There were no signs of a possible ambush."
I nodded dismissing the kneeling shinobi.
It looks like he really wanted an alliance. Leaving my tent I went to gather my escort team and together we went on our way to meet the Raikage A.
...
*Boom*
Damn it.
The conversation was going so well. We were so close to an alliance.
Looking around me I saw various dead bodies of both my Anbus as well as Kumos. The Raikage was still engaged with the Silver and Gold Brothers.
We were naive, letting our guards down just because the conversation was going well. In that short period of neglect the brothers were able to slip in and take us by surprise. Once the first attack by them was successful, a dozen elite Kumo jounins entered the sensor nins area. We were getting overwhelmed.
Damn it to think that Kumo would fall into a civil war at a time like this. What were our spies doing? How could they have missed this?!
I looked down at my right arm. It was broken. The brothers initial attack prooved fatal. The Raikage didn't look much better than me, he was their initial target it seems.
To make the matter worse the two idiot brothers had access to the Nine-Tails chakra.
I barely dodged an incoming kunai, sending one of my own with my left hand slightly grazing the attacker.
Looking around we were outnumbered. Our forces were stronger but the opponents weren't weaklings and their numbers more than made up for their lack of strength.
Making up my mind I went and decided to help Kagami first. I was sure his sharingan would be the deciding factor to survive this mess.
Kagami was being surrounded by 6 elite jounins, he was barely able to not get overwhelmed. It seemed like he was lost. He was desperately trying to get to the Hokages side.
Seeing me approach him, Kagami made a serious rookie mistake, he let his concentration slip for a brief moment. It was but a fraction of a second but that was enough for an experienced jounin. A kunai was fast approaching his face, it was too fast he couldn't react in time, he messed up.
Buf before the kunai was able to pierce Kagamis head, several sharp earth spikes emerged from the ground piercing the enemies entire body.
...
< Flashback time! >
It was one of our weekly sparring sessions. I quite enjoyed crossing blades with Eichi, his talent for kinjutsu was truly out of this world.
Today we decided to spar using not only the sword but also ninjutsus. The enemies in the future wouldn't be limited to only the sword afterall.
Eichi clad in his lightning chakra that flowed through his whole body and sword made the first move.
He was fast.
Our swords clashing numerous times in barely a few seconds. For once I had to stay focused or this little kid would actually be able to pass right through my guard and make a fool out of me. How could the Second Hokage get injured by a child that hadn't even hit puberty yet!
The boy was a smart one, the one time I let my guard down against him proved fatal. They managed to pass my ridiciulous test thanks to his plan and I sure as hell wouldn't make the same mistake twice.
Eichi continued to attack ferociously, not stopping in between attacks. The pattern was fairly simple so I didn't have much trouble parrying and dodging, but then I saw a little smirk on his face.
Did he get me again? Impossible, I've been observing him the whole time he had done nothing but swing his sword.
Suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my leg, looking down I saw... an earth pillar? It was blunt but the force was enough to throw me offbalance. Eichi of course wasn't one to let go of his chance and was about to strike but before he was able to reach me I had teleported away using the Flying Thunder God Technique.
"Tsk that damn jutsu is so broken" was all Eichi was able to say before I started laughing.
"How did you do that? I didn't see you do any seal, I know Mikoto can do it but I wasn't aware that you could do it too." pointing at the little earth pillar that nearly embarassed me.
...
< Back to the present >
I'm glad I asked Eichi to teach me that technique or Kagami would have been done for. I'll have to properly thank him when we get back.
"Kagami! Get your shit together, I'll go assist the Raikage we can't let him die. You focus on killing the small fry and help as many people out as possible, we can't lose more allies they already have us outnumbered." I said furious at his lack of concentration a minute ago.
The both of us had no trouble dealing with the remaining 5 Kumo-nins. Kagami seemed to have regained his focus and did his best to accomplish his task.
Looking at the Raikage the situation was pretty bad. The two were holding 4 of the six sacred treasure left behind by the Sage of the Six Paths. They were incredibly powerful artifacts, I had to watch out for them.
I didn't directly enter the fight but waited for a good oportunity, my arm was still broken and the Raikage was already severly injured. I had to make this one count.
The Raikage collapsed due to chakradepletion, and I knew it was my chance. The brothers were sure of their victory now. I threw a kunai with my seal on it at Ginkaku, the silver haired brother but he easily dodged it.
It's fine, it was never meant to hit in the first place.
Using the Flying Thunder God Technique I teleported behind Ginkaku and used the ninjutsu I prepared beforehand.
{Water Release: Water Severing Wave}
A thin high pressured water stream left my mouth, cutting Ginkakus head clean of.
With a loud thump the body of the dead brother fell on the ground painting the surrounding floor red.
