Chapter 27: Reason

"Special grade curse, Rika Orimoto. I should definitely have you. You are the final piece that is missing to realise my dream" Geto said as his family was surrounding him.

"How are you going to get her Master Geto?" Nanako asked.

"Yuta Okkotsu is the master of the special grade curse Rika Orimoto. If I can personally kill Yuta, I can easily absorb Rika Orimoto" Gojo said as the others finally understood what Geto meant.

...

On one side, Geto was planning to exorcize Rika Orimoto and use her power to achieve his goal of killing all the monkeys.

On the other side, the owner of Rika, Yuta Okkotsu was training hardly to control cursed energy and resolve Rika's curse.

He got along pretty well with everyone, especially with Maki as she helped him a lot with his sword.

Amon had become a little lost and disturbed for a while now. It seemed he was searching very hard for his purpose.

"Did you guys notice something weird with Amon?" Maki asked.

"Yes, he has become very quiet and is always seem to be thinking" Panda answered. He hoped that Amon was alright.

"Salmon" Inumaki said.

"Should we do something to help him?" Yuta asked in hesitation.

"Don't worry, he can handle his problems by himself" Maki answered. She knew that Amon was very capable and powerful and he could solve whatever problems he has easily.

"Yuta, you should focus on yourself. You still haven't defeated me once" Maki said.

"Yes mam" Yuta answered as he lowered his head in shame. He is still a novice and can't defeat Maki in close range combat. But he has learned a lot about curses, cursed energy and cursed techniques in Jujutsu high.

...

"Gojo Sensei some time ago, you asked me if I have a reason. What is your reason?" Amon asked Gojo. Currently, the two of them were sitting in the cafeteria eating.

"What is gotten into you all of a sudden?" Gojo asked Amon. This student of his has been acting pretty weird for a few days.

"I just want to know your reason. I asked others about their reason too. Maki wants to become a grade 1 sorcerer so that she can prove herself to her family.

Panda wants to keep living as a Panda. Even Yuta has a reason. He wants someone to rely on him. He wants to feel that it is okay for him to live. I bet Toge also has one but I didn't ask him.

Anyway even though it's childish or simply, everyone has a reason to keep going. That led me to think. Is my reason only to have fun?" Amon said. He felt a bit comfortable about dumping all his worries on Gojo.

"Wow, you really thought about it a lot" Gojo commented. He had been somewhat worried about Amon. Geto was right, every sorcerer needed a reason or a goal to stay sane. No matter how twisted that reason may be.

"I want to cleanse this sorcerer society. And I want to do that through education. I want to foster strong and intelligent allies" Gojo said with a serious and determined tone.

Amon was a bit shocked. He never expected that Gojo wanted to reform the jujutsu world. That kind of serious goal didn't suit someone as goofy as Gojo.

But who knew that Gojo had such a responsible dream.

"What do you think my goal should be?" Amon asked in a daze.

"Are you an idiot? How would I know? You should find that yourself" Gojo said.

"But I don't know how to find it" Amon said. He sounded like a child now. Asking his parents all sorts of silly questions.

"Sigh, don't stress about it. You will find it naturally. If you haven't found it, search till you find it" Gojo advised Amon.

"Okay" Amon said in a low voice.

"Remember, no jujutsu sorcerer dies without regrets" Gojo said as he finished his lunch.

'Dying without regret ah? I wonder how that will feel? Dying on your own terms without even the slightest bit of fear' Amon thought.

"You have a new mission" Gojo said to Amon.

"Oh, ok give me the details" Amon said hoping to take his mind off this thing and do something else. Exorcising a curse just might do the job.

"Your mission this time is to help a cursed human. A woman is cursed and you need to exorcise the curse. Ask Ijichi for further details" Gojo said as he left the cafeteria.

'I hope a strong curse is cursing her' Amon thought. Man, how twisted was his mind.

...

"Amon, here are the details of the cursed woman. Based on her preliminary investigations she is cursed for about a week.

We suspect she was cursed by grade two. But there is also a low chance for it to be a grade one" Ijichi warned Amon as he handed him a file.

"Okay, thank you" Amon said as he left after taking the smile.

As he was about to near the door, he met a familiar figure. It was the black-haired, thin moustached second-year student, Kinji Hakari.

They just nodded at each other as they went their own ways. It seems Hakari was also here for a mission.

After going to his room, Amon opened the file and read about the mission. There was a photo of the victim there with other details.

The victim's name was Aiko Aoki. She is twenty-five. She has black hair, black eyes and a pretty face. She previously worked as a prostitute.

But now she turned over a new leaf and is working in a convenience store as a clerk. The cause of her curse is unknown. She started showing symptoms of being cursed for a week.

Amon quickly read all the information about this case. He looked at the picture of the woman again.

'Why do I find her oddly familiar' Amon had the weird thought. For some reason he thought, he saw this woman in a distant memory. After pondering for a while he didn't get any answer.

After some preparations, Amon started the mission.
