Chapter 2: An Ambiguous Kiss

A gust of wind blew by, and Susie looked up, only to find the man in the corner was gone.

She collapsed to the ground and exhaled a long breath.

The burning pain in her neck brought her back to her senses. Her mission wasn't yet complete. Susie pulled herself together and walked to the stairs leading to the second floor.

Five minutes later, she came to the door of a room.

Susie knocked on the door three times before asking, "Mr. Jackson, are you in there?"

There was no sound behind the door. She warily leaned forward, trying to hear something in the room, but suddenly fell into the room.

A man grabbed her by the neck and pressed her against the wall. In a low voice he asked, "You still here?"

Susie glanced up and noticed that the blood on his lips had disappeared and his eyes had turned white.

His thumbs were rubbing where her neck had just been bitten.

Susie lowered her head to avoid the his gaze. "Mr. Jackson, I'm here to take care of you."

He sneered, lowered his head, stuck out his tongue, and gently licked the wound on her neck.

Susie stiffened.

"Mr. Jackson . . . " she tried to push him away, but instead, was almost pushed to the floor by him.

Suddenly, a dark shadow flashed in front of her. The next second he was already standing a few meters away from her, hunched over in a defensive posture.

"Mr. Jackson, where should I sleep tonight?" Susie asked, miffed.

"Get out!" his breath became wild and his eyes turned scarlet again.

Susie sighed. She realized that she had underestimated his power and needed to think long-term if she wanted to get her mission completed.

"Mr. Jackson, don't you want to leave the castle?" she asked before he smashed something at her again.

The rumor, Susie thought to herself. If it was true that Kain was imprisoned in the castle since childhood, he must be curious about the outside world.

Kain teleported to her and strangled her neck, harder and harder.

Hung in the air, Susie felt her lungs were closing up.

"Mr. Jackson, I can help you," she said miserably.

Kain squinted and let go of his hand. Susie immediately fell to the floor.

She has grown used to Kain's capricious mind, rubbed her butt, and continued, "I will help you as long as you promise to set me free after leaving the castle."

"Aren't you afraid to die?" Kain asked drily. "Mr. Jackson, I was sold to the Jackson family, but I might as well die if I were to be jailed in this castle with you."

"What?" Kain was confused and stared at her seriously. "What did you mean that you might as well die?"
