Chapter 2: A transmigrator

Surrounded by the blights, Prince Clyne Austyn, inheritor of the Austyn Sun kingdom, draws his sword as he breathes heavily, and slowly stands after getting stabbed close to his heart. He felt hopeless not because he was surrounded by monsters nor about his kingdom getting conquered, but because of his own friend, his most trusted person who betrayed him and left him to die.

Because of the lack of faith and strength.

Clyne sat and leaned on the wrecked wall while looking at the battlefield.

He saw a lot of knights; some were screaming— begging not to die, and some were getting killed without even fighting.

He looks at the starry sky where the moon shines brighter than any normal night.

Clyne felt like the moon was sympathizing with him, which made him shed tears.

"Where did I go wrong?"

Clyne asked the moon as if it were going to reply to him.

Clyne could only laugh realizing how stupid he is for asking.

While he is entertaining himself. A frail knight running from far away came towards him.

Clyne can see how sincerely worried the knight is.

"My king! I know it! You are not dead! Head knight Marcus said that you died and that the war is already pointless! —I knew it! they are traitors!" The knight hurriedly helped his king stand but Clyne refused.

Instead, the prince gave his sword to the frail knight.

"Head to the forest and find the hidden temple of Austyn" he ordered. But the knight hesitates to accept the sword.

"But my king it's not yet late to come back and reclaim the th-"

"No. It's already too late. Marcus used the sacred sword to stab me, I'd been sitting here for minutes and the poison would kill me anytime. Child, you're the only person I'm trusting right now. Bring the sword of the sun to the temple. Don't fret about getting lost on the way, the sword would guide you. Hurry and don't look back! don't let them know that the real sword is hidden. You're the only one who can do it, I believe in you, Briar"

After what the prince said the frail knight hurriedly stood and ran towards the deep forest carrying the sword.

Clyne could only gaze at the loyal knight who until the end didn't betray him.

He looks back at the moon and chuckles.

"At least, in the end, I did something right," Clyne said and then laughed.

"Damn! It's sad to say that I won't be able to see how fucked up Marcus' face would be for realizing later on that the sword he's holding is fake HAHAHA" Clyne smirked as he felt the pain rushing to his whole body.

Clyne looked at the moon as he spat blood and smiled.

"Beautiful. A Moon that shines brighter than the Sun"

'Hmm?'

"YOUNG MASTER LEWIS!"

I woke up with my chest in pain after getting hit by something.

I looked at the person who did that. It was a person I didn't know, she was holding a stick and looking at me with her left eyebrow raised.

'How dare she hit me! —I'm a prince of this country and she dares disturb my sleep and hit me with a stick!'

I was already ready to scold her but she interrupted me.

"I already told you yesterday that we would be leaving in the morning yet you still aren't ready!" she said as she opened the curtains of the room.

The sunlight comes flashing inside, to a room with good architectural design, and darker color than my own.

This is when I realize-

'Where am I?!'

"Master Lewis, what would the duke say if he saw you like this?"

'Master Lewis? Duke?'

"....What????"

I looked at her confused. Her expression changed from angry to worried, she hurriedly came to me and put her palm on my head.

"Are you still sick? Oh lord, I told you yesterday that we should go to the doctor to see if your head is alright after hitting the lamp, but you insist on declining! I should have dragged you to the doctor even without your permission! sigh.." she said and walked by the door.

"I'll report this to the duke, master you should rest for more" She closed the door and left me dumbfounded.

"What is going on???"
