Chapter 72: Chapter 72: A Visit

Sora sat in front of the computer in his lab, typing away at the keyboard with a somewhat serious look on his face.

He was a bit mentally drained from the events of the previous days. He had fought and exterminated Brainiac, had a 'squabble' with the league and basically performed magical surgery on someone.

While it tired him out mentally, the last part had a purpose other than for his own personal study. He had designed the [Gamer Core] in such a way that he could view whatever it's wielder was viewing without their knowledge.

Their minds and memories would be an open book for him to peruse at his leisure. Of course there wasn't anything new that could interest him there but he had a goal for them.

Activities of his ANBU members and those connected to him had a chance of being traced, no matter how small the chance was. With the multitude of powers in this world, he wouldn't discount that fact so he came up with another solution.

One that allowed him to further his experiments while still achieving his goals. Depending on which path of life Kuro chose to live, he would no doubt enter the eyes of the Justice league(should he decide to use his powers for 'good') or the Light(should he decide to use it for his own gain).

The [Gamer Core] was just that powerful an item that he couldn't possibly remain weak.

Whichever path he followed, Sora would have a direct view and inside source of information from his mind.

He had done an extensive research on the factors and important milestones and figures of the world a long time ago and had concluded that the formation of the younger team of sidekicks would occur soon.

That was the reason he specifically selected a young teenage candidate, giving him a higher chance of gaining attention of higher figures joining them.

Kuro, from what Sora had perused from his mind, had next to no possibility of suddenly becoming a hero which was perfect for him. It meant he had ways to send him on dirty missions under the guise of quests with rewards.

The best part was that none of that would be traced back to him since he doesn't need direct contact with the boy to do anything. And since even Kuro doesn't know I'm pulling the strings, interrogating him would yield no result.

Though, it also meant that he had to raise someone as Kuro's direct enemy/rival on the opposite so that he could have a source of information from both sides.

An orphaned, abandoned street rat who suddenly gained power and a happy go lucky kid who wants to be a hero. These were the two criteria for the candidates he wanted to use for his 'goals'.

A thorough study of the human nature in different yet similar scenarios.

Kuro fulfilled the first role perfectly so all that remained was to find the other candidate.

'I can't wait to see the results but that will have to wait.' Sora thought as he leaned back into the chair to focus on the task at hand.

He wanted to expand Blume Corporation's reach beyond Tokyo. While he was rich in his own right, he wasn't Bruce Wayne rich, not yet at least but he was slowly getting there.

Wayne Enterprises couldn't make tress grow within the hour but he could. He consoled himself with that fact as he continued thinking.

'I could sabotage a few more LexCorp operations to reduce his financial range even if just a bit.' He pondered, though he knew those thoughts stemmed from his dislike for Lex.

An idea popped into his head at that moment as he quickly took out his phone and sent a text. He got off the seat, heading to his room to get a decent change of clothes rather than the shorts and tank top he sported.

Reaching the room, he found Zatanna lying on the bed with her hair packed to the side, a laptop and a notepad lay in front of her as she bit her lip in frustration.

"What's got you so agitated?" He asked as he entered.

"Ugh! I'm trying to think of a new recipe but to add to the menu but I've gotten nowhere!" She replied in frustration as she buried her head into the foam.

Unlike what most would think, Zatanna wasn't the type to mooch off Sora's money all the time while remaining unproductive. She currently owned a massive restaurant in the middle of Tokyo which brought in a massive amount of customers and income.

Though she had wanted to refuse, Sora insisted on fully building the restaurant for her to work in. She was easily a pro chef and had taken the non combat residents of the sanctuary to work as her employees.

The result…nothing less than spectacular. She wasn't number one in Tokyo but she was easily in the top three. There was so much controversy about her being too young to run a restaurant but between having magic and a successful and famous boyfriend, it all worked itself out.

"Just relax, you'll get it eventually." Sora comforted as he pulled on a simple black shirt.

"You make it sound so easy. Not everyone has an idea bank in their head, you know." She said dryly as he stole her lips.

Separating a moment later, he smiled at the cute look of frustration on her face.

"Tell you what? When I get back I'll help you brainstorm some ideas." He offered, causing her to perk up.

"Really?"

"Of course. See you!" He said with a grin as he disappeared in a black flash.

He appeared in a large cave very far away from Tokyo. Looking around, he saw many unusual things such as a giant coin and a large replica of a dinosaur but he wasn't fazed.

Choosing a direction, he began walking until he passed a few glass cases that held different costumes in them.

He ignored them, making his way towards the large computer at the other side of the cave. Getting close, he found someone sitting in the seat.

"Having fun?" Sora spoke, his voice breaking the silence that he used to make his way there as the boy in the chair leaped out, landing some distance away.

"You! How did you get in here!?" The boy asked with some hostility as he held two red disks in his hand.

"I walked in here. I should be the one asking questions. I'm curious about why you were trying to hack the batcave's system." Sora said lightly, leaning on the chair the boy jumped out of.

The boy let out a low growl, unsure what to do until a gloved hand touched his shoulder. He turned back in surprise to see Batman standing behind him…with his mask off!

"It's alright, Dick. He's a friend." Bruce said much to Sora's amusement.

"Yeah right. The same person who knocked me out while barely lifting a finger." The boy wonder said sarcastically as he released his hostile stance but his eyes never left Sora, not that Sora cared either way.

"When you said you were coming, I didn't think you'd be here this fast." Bruce commented in a questioning manner as Robin's eyes widened under the domino mask.

"I apologize for that but there is a matter in which I require your assistance." Sora spoke smoothly.

He'd admit that Bruce was trying his best to be a father whenever he could. That was why he was here to use that to his advantage.

"Go on…" The man prompted as Sora took a seat in the chair he had been leaning on.

"I need you to help me come in contact with Aquaman or as you may call him, Arthur Curry." Sora spoke as he relaxed into the chair.
