Chapter 17: Wrong person for the job.....

[3rd P.O.V.]

~Orange Town~

*Clatter!*

Sitting around a table, Sun ate everything in sight. They were all meat products, but he didn't care too much for the time being.

His belly grumbled like a volcano, as his thought process goes hand in hand with his bodily functions.

If he wanted to eat, his body would make itself think it was hungry. If he wanted to train he would feel an urge to become stronger.

If he wanted to be lazy, he would straight up do nothing at all. That's how he works and he wasn't going to change any time soon. (His pain lag works like that.)

*Gulp, Slam!*

Drinking down his mead in one swig, he slammed the mug down on the table. Looking across from him a woman stood somewhat shakily.

Raising the wooden mug, she took it cautiously and ran behind the counter refilling it and returning. Placing it next to him as quickly as possible.

Looking at his eyes she blushed, but every time she lowered her two round eyes, her face got progressively redder.

When she finally reached his junk, she came into contact with the eyes she had just seen? "Where are you looking, young lady?"

With a small smirk, Sun teased her. Her once tense demeanour became that of a timid girl who was being asked out by her very first crush.

The other personnel in the bar however were shaking involuntarily every time they looked into his cross-shaped pupils.

*Creak!*

Near the counter, a somewhat burly man stood up. Drifting from left to right. He was heavily intoxicated.

Getting paid a few hours ago he came to spend it all on alcohol, even though he had a wife and child at home.

Disregarding their welfare and livelihood he came and spent it all just to have a good time.

Went so far as to ogle the bartender, approaching her like a drunkard. She knew him very well so she was ready to crack his 'eggs'.

Stumbling a bit, he walked up behind her, reaching out to grab her waist and pull her into a bear hug.

Only for Sun to get up, take his stool, throw it and narrowly miss the head of the purple-haired woman, and break the nose of the man.

*Smack, Splatter!*

"Ah, ahhhhhh!" Screaming with a broken nose, Sun stood up, with his junk swinging. The bartender finally got a good picture of what it looked like.

"Oya, what were you about to do with those dirty hands of yours, look how ashy your elbows are as well bro!"

He rolled on the ground, holding his nose that looked like it was squished into his cranium. He struggled to breathe, but it was just enough to sustain his consciousness.

Struggling to stand up, he wiped the snot off his face, sobering up a bit. It seemed futile, as he only focused on Sun, and not the surrounding shouts and pleas to surrender.

Looking at the short man who threw the stool, he got angry. Not believing he was almost knocked out cold by a small guy.

Sun was naked, and everyone in the bar could see some scars on his body, and his toned muscles showed he was a battle-hardened warrior.

*Swish, Splatter!*

Sun's hand, dripped with blood. He swung his hand similar to when a samurai swung his katana to get rid of excess blood.

'Blood?' Blinking a couple of times, the bulky man looked down at his chest. His eyes widened and before he could even scream out in pain.

His world darkened, fainting on the spot. Across his chest was a wound, just deep enough to cause extreme pain.

The bar went dead silent as if it was a ghost town. Only the chirping of birds was heard, the already scared were beyond terrified.

Ignoring the man who fell by her feet, the bartender made a Library in her mind. Keeping the images of Sun in there for later use.

"Oy, didn't I tell you to stop staring. It's unnerving yah know." Returning to the world, her eyes widened realizing her blunder.

Bowing quickly her eyebrows wrinkled, forming a show that didn't decrease her beauty in any way or form.

Taking deep breaths she looked at him with serious conviction, opening her mouth, she was interrupted before she could speak.

*Smash, Clatter!*

A random citizen smashed the door open, drenched in sweat and what seemed to be mud or dirt covering his worn-out clothes.

"P....pir.....pir..*deep breath!*...PIRATES!" Hearing his words, no one moved. They were simply too stunned.

What were the chances of them being already attacked, not only by the most infamous of all pirates in all of the blues?

But wow a crew of sorts, as he said 'Pirates' meaning more than one. They were already on their last leg now they were about to be swept off it.

Some almost fainted, but they lived through battles like this before. The village was made with former citizens who lost their villages to pillaging pirates.

They weren't all cry babies who would go and call their entire sect just to get petty revenge. They were, however, still scared.

The purple-haired bartender was shocked but pissed off at the man who destroyed her moment. Opening her mouth to spew some profanities.

She was once again interrupted, but she didn't mind this time. "Yah got any clothes you can share, kind of in a pickle here."

Quickly she went behind the counter, taking out what seemed to be some leather clothes. Most likely extra she had if the situation called for it.

Ignoring the rambling occupants in her bar, she hastily gave him the clothing. Putting it on he took Yeoui from behind his ear.

"Thanks, for your hospitality...?" Gesturing with his hand for her name, she still warily squinted her eyes.

"Belo, Belo Betty." Sun nodded, he already knew who she was or had an idea when he entered. Her outfit was completely different from her Revolution Army uniform, in the manga and anime so he had a little trouble.

Out of her top shirt pocket, she took out a cigarette and a pack of matches. Smoking a cigarette, not caring about the scrambling citizens, some even threw tables down leaving the bar in a hurry

"Well, it was nice meeting you, Belo Betty." Giving her a curt bow in response to her previous one, he walked out of her bar, waving as he left through the broken door.

The small cylinder-like hairpin in his hand extended instantly to the size of a two-metre stick. He looked back and mumbled to himself, "Drinkers Pub huh."

spinning Yeoui, he looked at the shoreline where a man stood, holding a spear and leather armour, waiting for the pirates who were further out to reach the port.

*Tap, Tap!*

Still, barefoot he briskly walked, unlike his usual lazy and lifeless movement. Coming closer, he knew the identity of the armed man.

An elderly, bespectacled man, with curling grey hair distinctly bunched atop his head and down both sides of his neck.

His leather armour looked clumsy and worthless, it was better than nothing at the very least, it consisted of a chestplate, gauntlets, and greaves.

Boodle is the mayor of this bustling town and the only person who would truly risk their lives to protect it, as shown in the Orange Town Saga.

Boodle was one of many refugees from a town destroyed by pirates, who proposed a new one to be built on an uninhabited part of the Organ Islands.

His leadership and efforts united countless people through forty years of labour, developing the wilderness into the bustling port of Orange Town.

He firmly stood by the port, his grey hair blowing in the wind. Emphasizing his determination to protect his town.

Without his knowledge Sun was standing directly behind him, chuckling to himself. He could feel the number of ships coming from afar.

There were more than ten of them, each carrying more than one hundred pirates. Their strength however was abysmal.

*Catter!*

Sitting next to Boodle, he looked out into the ocean. Biding his time until they came. He knew for a fact Belo Betty would have taken care of it.

He just wanted to release some of his pent up anger and stress. The best way to do it is to murder some low lives who plunder and rape the innocents.

"Today seems like a great day to commit a crime." The old mayor almost got a heart attack, looking down to his left he truly got one.

*Chokes!*

Choking on his spit, he fell to his knees. Unluckily had a heart attack and choked on his spit simultaneously frothing from his mouth.

"What the fuck just happened bro." Getting up quickly he scanned his body, seeing a bunch of problems due to old age.

Boodle grasped the area his heart was, scratching it as if he was trying to gouge it out of his body.

'Heart attack, you have to be kidding me. I don't have any acupuncture techniques either!' Looking around him, he looked at Belo Betty who stood in the inner part of the town, at the front of the bar.

"Oy I need your help Bell, the mayor is having a heart attack. Old age did a number on him!"

Calling her by a nickname made her sigh, she wasn't accustomed to being called out without honorifics, she was the leader of an army so it became a tradition.

Jogging over to the overly eccentric pirate she crouched next to him, whispering some words into the mayor's ear. His muscles bulged and the flow of blood going to his heart was relaunched.

Picking up Yeoui, he looked at the cannonball flying towards them. Betty did the same, but her hand turned pitch black.

"Haki, nice!" He kept teasing her, revealing slowly but surely he knew her involvement in his bounty and allegiance to the Revolutionary Army.

Hearing his words she didn't answer him but focused on how to deal with the situation. When she met him in the bar she could feel his Haki signature.

They wanted him in their ranks, as he showed unprecedented potential among this generation of rookie pirates. Adding the fact he was a friend of Dragon's son. Nobody knew but that was one of the deciding factors.

They planned to persuade him to become a Revolutionary, raising his bounty. Eventually having to find a haven as his strength didn't correspond with it.

Forcing him to join the Revolutionary Army, he was a pirate, being a Bounty Hunter or a Marine was out of the question.

Now she knew he had Haki, and her cover seems to be blown. His blatant cocky and irritating smile pissed her off, but she digressed.

"So, we're fighting together. A Revolutionary and a Pirate what a twist of fate huh." That was the final nail in the coffin.

Her once calm facade broke completely, and a scowl made it on her face. "You knew. When did you find out?!"

Aggressive as ever she asked with authority hand-stitched into her voice. Practically shouting in his face. A trait she picked up due to her fruit's power.

She keeps it under wraps most of the time, especially when they have meetings. This mission was a failure so she just went back to her usual personality...

Smirking he raised a hand, pointing to the sky.....gritting her teeth she didn't even look at the cannonball plunging in their direction. Swinging her hand shaping it right back at the ship......
