Chapter 1: THE AWAKENING
Nuzar woke up with an excruciating pain in his right eye. The blinding rays of the morning sun that peaked through the thin window clothes made the pain worse . He tried raising his arm covered in bandages to prevent the sun rays from touching his face, but couldn't. Not only his arm was covered in bandages, his whole body was. The pain coursing through the muscles, blood vessels and bones of his limbs was unbearable. As he tried getting up from his bed popping sounds were heard from his joints.
He slowly got up from the bamboo bed, trying to figure his way out of the sunlit bedroom. He staggered after taking few steps towards the wall mirror and fell on the floor.
Sound of footsteps were fast approaching the sunlit bedroom. A fair haired girl dressed in an ancient Egypt-like tunic entered the room. When her eyes met the body of the semi conscious Nuzar, shock was apparent in her eyes.
" Mom ! I think there's something you need to see" she screamed.Throwing away the clothes she brought with her, she ran towards the semi conscious young man. Nuzar saw a beautiful face inches away from his. "Liz" he muttered as he went totally unconscious.
Suddenly, he found himself plunged into dark space, with a dim flickering light metres away from him. The dim flickering light appeared to be coming towards him. When it got near enough, he finally had a clear glimpse of the dim light which had an humanoid figure.
The humanoid figure had a phenomenal resemblance to his younger self. It didn't seem to be surprised to see an older version of himself, it was as if it was expecting the strange phenomenon.
"Who are you? He asked his younger self. "Where's this place?.
"I'm Nuzar" the younger one replied ." We're in a void, a place where souls and consciousness are meant to be". " I've told you my name, I don't think it's a bad idea to know yours" .The younger one said again.
"My name? The older one looked confused. "I don't seem to remember my name but it should be the same as yours. I can't remember anything about myself, It seems I've lost my memories" He said almost to himself. The younger Nuzar chuckled, " We might look alike but, that doesn't mean we share the same name. Actually you don't belong to this world or should I say universe.
Anyways, I can help you regain your memories but it should be for an equivalent exchange .My body can't house two souls. Its either we fuse together or one of us dies". The younger one said with a serious tone.
