Chapter 14: City of Barbarians
(Inside the Palace in Kunlon)
The Barbarian King sitted on his throne. He has red hair, golden brown eyes, angular jaw and muscular body.
He wore a simple but elegant clothing of a King. However he is making an irritated face.
He looked at his attendant and said.
"Has my son came back?"
The attendant replied on a sincere voice.
"Please forgive us your highness for our incompetence but we haven't found the prince yet."
"We have expanded our search for him but we have lost track of him".
The king sighed and look at the window.
"It's okay. As you have known it's not like he can't survive in the wild. We have taught him already so we don't need to worry about his safety. But!"
"I'm sure that kid will forget his way home as he had not even left this city ever since. If only he had said to me that he want to go I could had given him a map."
While the king grumbling him. Another attendant came in and reported something to the king.
"Your highness there's something flying above the city right now. What will be your orders?"
"Have you confirmed what is it?"
"Yes your highness. We didn't know if we are right but it looks like a dragon."
Hearing the word about a dragon, the Barbarian King's face darken. He immediately ordered his men.
"Stand by and don't attack. We can't afford to make an enemy of an absolute existence. But tell them to prepare for a battle."
"I understand your Highness."
The attendant left and followed his orders. The Barbarian King is in deep thought as he prepared himself with weapons and left the palace.
(Main POV)
Cedrick arrived above the city. Looking down, he was in awe of the more than 30-meter high walls. It look like it was impenetrable and would be able to repel any attacks.
A long row of magic cannons, ballista, and heavy crossbows were placed on top of the walls.
As Cedrick was descending to the palace, he looked at the armed barbarians but didn't care. He wasn't afraid as he had gained the Absolute Defence.
"I did not come here for hostility anyway and I have their prince with so I don't have to worry."
Buildings and shops were everywhere as narrow streets built with white stones connected the buildings and shops all across city.
As Cedrick landed, nervous faces of the barbarians could be seen. Sweat started dropping. Suddenly two people jumped from the back of the dragon which made their eyes widen.
Dragon's were known for their arrogant attitude and intensive pride. They won't let lesser being than them use them as rides.
They were also surprise as they could see a beautiful Elf with pink hair. They could feel their senses calm down because of her aura. But they were more schocked after seing the other one is their prince who runaway.
After descending, Cedrick transformed back to his human form. Seing the dragon transformed all barbarians were shocked. Sensing their nervousness Cedrick broke the silence.
"So this is the Barbarians. Just like the rumors they were really a warrior race. Interesting."
Hearing that, the barbarians were even nervous than before. All of them thought 'a dragon has taken interest to us if we show a little disrespect, it's over.' Cold sweat and chill ran through their back.
Finally someone from the Barbarian initiated a conversation. He bit his lips and calmed his self. He was incredibly nervous talking to a dragon.
"What does a noble dragon want from us?"
He asked politely but he is very nervous inwardly. Cedrick noticed but did not care. If he cared about other people he should not be a loner in his past life.
"Nothing. I was just delivering him."
Cedrick said as he looked at Josh. Even seeing that their prince is treated as an object they only frown but they did not show any objection. All of them had thought of the same thing.
"Royalty or not. Whatever race you have, it doesn't matter to a dragon."
Claire on the hand looked lovestruck seing how they are polite to Cedrick. She thought Cedrick is so cool as he coldly responded. Her face is starting to get red. Her obsession is starting kicking again.
"Now that your prince is back you can rest assured. I'm sure that he learned a thing or two from his journey."
Hearing it, all barbarians breathed out of relief. They have genuine smile on their faces. They had been searching non stop for him but now he had returned. While they were inwardly happy, Cedrick thought.
"They are barbarians but they're not muscle head as I thought. In the anime barbarians are known for brawns but no brain but here is different."
"If they are this intelligent, they are dangerous in the battlefield. They were already strong but if they can judge the flow of battle, I pity their enemies."
Filled with curiosity Cedrick inspected some barbarians. He was curious about the stats of the so called warrior race.

"As expected they're strong. Even their skills were not accounted their stats were high. As far as they look, They don't look like a buffed up men who has big muscles. Their body is just like normal but their aura is different."
As Cedrick was in deep thought Claire woke him from his daze. She sheepishly spoke her thoughts and hold his sleeve of his shirt.
"Um, Cedrick-kun. What are we gonna do now that we had finished escorting Josh?"
When the barbarians heard that the attendants immediately offered them their hospitality. They didn't want to make a dragon feel discomfort as it would leave a scar to their warrior pride even if the dragon didn't ask anything.
"Noble Dragon. May we invite you to our palace to rest for the night. It's almost night and maybe you are tired from your journey."
Hearing their suggestion. Cedrick thought it makes sense. He looked at Claire for a while and replied nonchalantly.
"Now that I think about it. We've been traveling since morning. Okay I'll take up to your offer."
Hearing that all the barbarians cheered. Serving a dragon is their greatest honor and this moment will be passed on to the future generation.
They led Cedrick into the palace with the outmost sincerety. After a while Cedrick arrived at the center of the city. Just a few meter away where a tall white building were seen.
Cedrick entered the while building as he passed by a room after room. Cedrick looked at Josh, he noticed he became strange. Not even the slightest voice came from him.
"Are you that nervous? I thought they won't scold you anymore."
Hearing Cedrick said that Josh flinched. Tears could be seen in his eyes. It also made him look cute.
"Um, Father is staring at me right now so I'm quite nervous."
So that's how it is. As Cedrick continued a system notification appeared in front Cedrick and Claire.

Just like last time, Cedrick suddenly felt his consciousness is leaving him. Cedrick didn't like the feeling of being unconscious when you can't anything about it. He inwardly grumled.
"This is just so sudden. If I had known this I should have been prepared."
On the verge of passing out, Cedrick saw the immense AP he possess. He immediately allocated the Free AP and called out to Claire.
"Claire!"
Delighted at Cedrick's calling her name she immediately replied. But after she turned around she saw Cedrick became strange.
"Cedrick-kun are you okay? Is there something wrong. Are you hurt or something?"
She asked worriedly as the memories of him dying was still fresh in her mind. She doesn't want that to happen again as he anxious voice was heard by the barbarians. They immediately became worried. They were afraid the dragon felt uncomfortable in the palace.
"No. I think I will pass out for a while."
Cedrick said in a sleepy voice. Intense urge to sleep was overcoming him at the moment.
"Why? Is there I can help?"
"No. there's nothing to worry about. It's just evolution."
"Evolution? Your evolving again?"
