Chapter 13: Note

Chapter Thirteen (13). Note.

...

They stared at that open air for about a few seconds, then they retrieved their gazes, emotionally looked at each other, and feigned ignorance.

It was also on that very second that the zombies Emelia controlled finally arrived, each handed the popcorns they were entrusted to back to them, turned around, and left.

Emelia inspected the popcorns carefully before giving a share to Reo. As he was already sitting on the floor, Reo took the share handed to him and munched on them delightfully.

Emelia secretively smiled and sat down next to him. She popped a few pieces into her mouth, glanced at Reo and repeated her former question but modified, "Reo, does it feel good?"

Reo shook his head. "No," He simply stated before fixing his eyes back into his food. He must indeed agree that the feeling was extremely bitter and sour, akin to vinegar poured all over him.

He knew that Emelia wouldn't put a green hat on him, and Emelia trusted him too. However, that doesn't mean he wasn't afraid nor was Emelia fearless of the possibility of someone to come and begin home wrecking.

Fortunately, Emelia did not surrender and carefully resisted her urges. Thinking of the probability of Emelia bursting, Reo shuddered. He doesn't want to be locked up again, nor does he want to do the same.

"Reo-kun~" Emelia gazed lovingly at her husband as she fluttered her eyelashes flirtatiously. She wanted and yearned for the punishment he would give her.

"Emelia..." Reo shook his head resignedly as he began making his decision. He made a choice regarding that certain youth however punishing his wife was a bit troubling.

After an hour of waiting, Emelia who was yearning happily for whatever punishment he was to give her, abruptly frowned.

Reo stated, "You far outreached your influence to another human. This is what I'm unable to accept. To punish you, please take a distance of two feet from me, you cannot come near until you retrieve back the power you've given to that man."

Emelia was silent for a few seconds and the next moment, she fumed, "That is unreasonable, Reo-kun! I was separated by a whole universe from you yet you still want to distance yourself from me?! I'm your wife, your spouse!"

"Emelia, it was clearly beyond my ability to force myself oh of the teleportation." Reo fathomed but he was not satisfied, "Moreover, you have far outreached your influences to not only by the world but to an earth inhabitant as well? Punishing you is a must instead of being cursed by the earth's guardians. And there's no modification of the one feet distance."

"So, if I go get back my power from him, you'll end the punishment?" Emelia found hope and she beamed. "Hurry then! Let's go and catch him, promise me that you'll allow us to do that after."

"Of course, I won't go back on my promise." Reo nodded before adding another request, "But, you must also end the apocalypse."

"That? Geez, that's quite easy. As long as you agree then I'm willing!" Emelia hopped and her black dress followed along her jump. She then pulled Reo up and patted his shorts.

"However," As she dusted off her husband's shorts and her skirt, she muttered with dislike, "You must remember that though I'm made to distance myself two feet away from you, I will always put an eye on you in case another akin to that nun pops up."

"You must know; I love you ultra to the max."

"Where did you learn that?" Reo questioned his wife.

"From a booklet I've discovered on the cinema, and it's well known that a knowledgeable and wise wife is an absolutely need." Emelia whispered to Reo as she took a side step to take distance. "And I will make sure I will become better than that, so despite unwilling to leave a great distance between us, I'll take this as a trial."

"Your tone changed again." Reo helplessly stared at his wife.

"I have, Reo-kun~? Hehe." Emelia swung her fists up high and said, "You must be mistaken. This is how I always act, it couldn't be..."

"You didn't know much about me?"

"Hold on, Emelia. Don't go straight into your conclusions. Far as I'm concerned, we're together for three years already. You have even told me countless secret of yours and especially your past, and we've exchanged tons of words. You don't act like this once a bit, it's another influence from your newborn knowledge, am I correct?"

"Fufu," Emelia giggled and attempted to come nearer to him, "Well done, Reo-kun~."

Reo dodged and coughed lightly. He jumped off the roof and stood firmly onto the ground. Dissatisfied, Emelia hmp-ed as she jumped off as well, the umbrella behind her as she shielded herself from the bright red rays of the sun.

Reo looked at his surroundings before narrowing his eyes and then told to himself, 'System, the spacial bag please.'

The system that was stealthily following them, heard it's host's call and hurriedly sent the spacial bag the other requested.

A screen appeared and a few boxes were at sight. Reo didn't mind more of it's details, he began flipping a few pages and arrived at where his needed items were placed.

"Where did you last see him, Emelia?" Reo asked as he took of few of his equipments from the system space. He turned to Emelia while he adjusted his gloves and hat.

"Oh, hmm..." Emelia twirled the umbrella and said, "Ah, just right there."

...

Reo and Emelia arrived at the specific location she had met John.

Reo inspected the surroundings and found out that the surrounding was filled with overgrown weeds — it didn't look like something that would occur after a few hours since the apocalypse started.

Upon seeing that sight, Reo turned around, looked at Emelia and didn't know what to say.

"♪~" Emelia just hummed a tone as she tried to hide her guilt.

"Emelia, not again. Not only did you force humanity to face the apocalypse, give powers to this human boy, but you even sped up time? Based on how things look, it's been three months."

"Reo-kun, I apologize. I thought speeding up timr was a necessity."

"It is unnecessary, Emelia." Reo rubbed his brows, "Two feet and a half."

Emelia froze and was speechless. "n..No!"

Reo turned around and gathered tools from his inventory and began picking up the garbage thrown listlessly on the floor and plucking the weeds out.

He was not relieved.

He was busy cleaning up the road. He placed them one by one inside his infinite space while piling the remains of corpses into the trashcan he found.

By the way how time seemed to pass by in this place, Reo estimated it had been four months already; since he begun his clean up an hour ago.

An equivalent of the time ratio was 1 hour : 1 month.

Blood which he had wiped clean were old blood, brownish in color and mosquitoes flew around the area.

Emelia who was upset, mourned in her corner as she waited patiently for Reo to finish his clean up. She then began fixing up the modification she had applied to time.

After cleaning till it was bearable, Reo lowered his hat and walked down the lane.

Emelia saw that he was done, followed him hurriedly like a little tail. Next time she won't sped up time nor mess around humanity...Maybe, something more modern and ordinary.

CREATORS' THOUGHTS
Myururest Myururest

I think I'm cursed; most of my pets kept dying and the only ones left are either heavily protected and tied to ensure their safety. I don't know when this begun but ever since my old and childhood doggie, Twilight, died of food poisoning the frequency of my new pets dying increased. Plus, if it wasn't the pets, my uncle died one after another.
