Chapter 5: LONG TIME NO SEE

June left speechless and annoyed. "You didn't find anyone besides us?" June mumbled. "Why us of all people!!"
"It should be our question..," a jovial voice came from the back. "Don't you think?"
Both of them became chilled.

Sara nervously smiled at him, "Hehe, hi..." she said.
He lifts his one eyebrow as he was skeptical about them, "Do I know you?" he asked.
Sara repeated, "Do you know us?"
He glared. So she mumbled, "Um...m-maybe you know us or will know us, hehe."
"What do you want?" Noah asked. "Who are you? Why are you following us?"
"We??" said Sara. "Oh..we were just walking."
June said in her mind angrily, "(She would definitely make us killed today. What do I do!!)"
Liam, the person who help them to be caught, said, "Hey, but why would they even follow you. You are not even her type."
"Did I say they only followed me?" said Noah.
"I-I think you have a misunderstanding we weren't following you," said June. "It can be a coincidence."
"Then why were you hiding behind the wall like a thief?" said Noah.
"We...I lost something so we were searching for that..," said June. "We found it. So let's go, Sara."
Before Noah and Owen could say anything they escaped from there.
[Other side]
Basketball players are chants for the lady gang. Rather than being taken seriously, it became a joke for the public. So, to save their career and make them back to their track, a certain someone is running from the department office to the sports major building entrance. At a moment like this, someone catches her wrist from behind.
"Eva," a young lady wearing a tracksuit called by her name. "Someone is asking for you in our practice side hall."
"Who?" asked Eva.
"A boy," she replied.
"Owen?" Eva asked.
"No," she said.
"Noah?" Eva asked again.
"No," she denied again.
"Then who?" Eva bemused.
"I don't know," she said. "I never saw him before. But he is damn hot. All the girls in the team are going crazy about him. I couldn't able to control them. So please you go first and take him outside."
"You didn't ask him to wait outside?" Eva asked.
"I asked him," she said. "But the girls were so crazy. They surrounded him as soon as they glimpsed and wouldn't listen to me. Our couch is sick today. That's why these b*ches are relaxing today. I will talk to the coach first. Meanwhile, you go to that boy but before starting your talk please lead those girls to their practice. They don't afraid of me but you."
"Ok," said Eva.
Eva stepped to the girl's basketball team practice side. She could listen to the chatters of the girls from outside. When she entered the hall and saw that person in the centre who was surrounded by a lot of girls she felt a chill running down her spine. He is not an unfamiliar face but a familiar. Rather, it can be said he is a person she can never forget even if she forgets her name. That person noticed her and walks toward her. The moment when the crowd around him was making a way for him, seems like a moon king making his way. Eva felt like she was skipping a beat of her heart with every step he was making toward her. Eva didn't realize it when he started waving his hand to her.
"Hi," he said.
Eva gets consciousness but she couldn't decide how she should reply to him. She thought if she was dreaming. She looked at him with disbelievable.
"R-Ryan..?" she mumbled.
"Oh, wow. You remember my name?" Said Ryan tauntingly. "The way you left 3 years ago I thought you will pretend to forget me when we meet next time. But I'm glad you didn't."
She looked away as she was trying to hide her blushed face all over her neck.
"Won't you greet me?" Asked Ryan.
"Y-Yeah..," Eva stammered. "How are you..? Long time no see."
" What's up?" Said Ryan. "You didn't like meeting me again?"
"It's not like that," said Eva shyly.
"Then why are you not facing me?" Said Ryan. "Is this face got ugly? Not your type anymore?"
"......" Eva was so shy and lost in her words that she couldn't choose how exactly she should reply to him. She wanted to escape and run away but at the same time wanted to slow down this time-lapse.
"Why didn't you ever mention your plan for studying abroad?" Said Ryan.
"Uh...Ahem..," a coughing sound came from behind. Eva notices the person. She was from before, who told her about Ryan was waiting, standing next to the door.
"Ah Mia," said Eva. "I'm sorry, we are leaving now."
"Can we move to another place?" Eva asked Ryan. "We are disturbing them."
"Ok," said Ryan. "I have a lot of sums to solve anyway."
They make deep eye contact for a while and came out from there.
"There are things I have to manage," said Eva. "So if you have anything to say you can say it to me here."
"How long it will take?" Said Ryan.
Eva is startled by that statement and stammers, "I-I don't know."
"Are you trying to run away again?" Ryan narrowed his eyes at her.
"N-No no. It's not like that," she said. "Actually, Lisa's scandal made a huge mess in the basketball group I am managing now."
"Oh, I think I can help you with that," said Ryan.
"What?" Eva was puzzled.
He avoided her reaction and started walking.
After some time they reached the sports department's discotheques. They saw from inside the building that, just between this time two boys' teams started group fighting. Nobody can say they are majoring in sports as they are fighting like a street mafia gang. Maybe they are just lacking some guns. Many of the team members were seriously injured. They needed to go to the hospital immediately. Eva was so shocked that she couldn't decide what should she do and was lost in her thoughts because she speculated something big but didn't think it would be this much. Suddenly Ryan held her hand and took her aside.
"Call the police," said Ryan.
After some moment police came and handled the situation. Some of the members who were injured were sent to the hospital and the rest took to the police station. Ryan and Eva both went with the team to the police station first. It was almost afternoon when they came out after handling the situation and releasing the boys with some judicial restrictions. Now, they are walking on the road.
"Why did you say to the boys that the department head has made a student team to investigate this matter?" Said Eva. "It was a lie, wasn't it?"
"Not the whole thing though," said Ryan. "They indeed made a student team. That's another thing that it's not for this matter."
"If they get to know this they won't spare you," said Eva. "You know that."
"Are you worried about me? Said Ryan smirking at her. "If you are worried about me now, you shouldn't have left me in the first place without saying a word."
"Th-That..." Eva stammered. "Are you going to the hospital with me as well?"
"Of course," said Ryan. "I can't leave alone a girl middle of the street at this time, can I? I have developed some basic etiquette growing up, you know."
They went to the hospital. Ryan was somewhat surprised to see how much those boys respect and take care of Eva. Eva was bursting her resentment toward them and they were just listening to her silently. Anybody who didn't see them fighting won't even believe they were the same boys who broke all the windows of their department violently and were fighting like dogs with other guy groups. Ryan stood leaning on the wall crossing his arms and listening to her. He realised it has been a long time since he saw her bursting her resentment. So, a slight grin was visible on his lips. After 30 minutes of non-stop lecture when Eva and Ryan were leaving, the boys told Eva to go safely. They bowed and apologized to her. She also barely had a soft spot for them. So she told them to take a rest and not to get involved in any act until she settles this. They both came out in the street. The whole day was so hassling that they didn't get the chance to talk about other things. But now the atmosphere was filled with the awkwardness between them. "So...I..," he was going to say something but his phone rang. He responds, "Hey, June."
"Ryan," June said from the other side of the phone. "Come to your department's store-room
side. We caught the thief."
"Ok," said Ryan.
He declined the call and was going to say something but this time Eva's phone rang. So she receives it.
"Yes, Owen," she said.
Ryan makes a shocking face hearing the name but didn't say anything. Owen continues on the phone, "Eva...something happened. Can you please come to our department's store-room side?"
"What happened?" Said Eva. "Where is Noah?"
"He is here with me," said Owen.
"Ok," said Eva. "I'm coming."
She declines the phone and Ryan said, "Heading to the storeroom side?"
She gets shocked and says, "H-How did you...?"
"Let's find it out together," said Ryan.
He smiled at her which
made her feel shivered. While Ryan was wondering how interesting it is, Eva was having goosebumps.
