Chapter 6: Fighting the beast
The beast rushed at Itachi like he were the most delicious delicacy he'd ever seen, as the beast ran at top speed it opened its largemouth, the saliva in his mouth spread everywhere as he gnashed his teeth. The beast pounced at Itachi with its mouth wide open.
BOOM!
Itachi's battle instincts kicked in, then he dived to the right resulting in the beast biting the tree Itachi was standing behind in half. This made the Beast grow even more ferocious.
At the same time, the kids had all woken up and were terrified out of their wits, some could not even stand up, their knees had given in.
The beast that had the looks of a massive wolf, spat out bits of tree bark that were stuck in his teeth then stared at the dozen or so kids, he immediately gave up on Itachi then ran towards the kids that were sprawled on the ground.
The kids couldn't even fight back, they got ravaged and killed one by one, some of them tried to fight back but were instantly bitten in half.
Itachi watched this scene with an indifferent expression, he was used to seeing scenes like this, even if he wanted to help he did not have the strength.
" AHHH, someone help! I still haven't lived my life yet, I don't want to die!!!"
Bai Xiao Chun screamed at the top of his lungs, he tried to get up and run but his fat body didn't allow him to, his speed was incredibly slow.
Itachi saw the numerous scenes playing out in front of him then a sudden thought crossed his mind.
" System, retrieve the divine dagger "
Although Itachi's strength was still low he wanted to try out his new weapon, maybe it could change the tide of the battle.
The divine dagger appeared in Itachi's hands, it had an extremely cold touch to it, it felt like he was touching ice.
" Good dagger "
Itachi admired the dagger in front of him, it was truly a work of art, luckily Itachi had experience with using weapons, using this dagger should be no problem, he had used a sword to wipe out the whole Uchiha clan before his rebirth.
Itachi tightened his grip on the dagger and silently got closer to the wolf, he was like a shadow as he slowly approached the wolf.
Before the wolf could turn around Itachi had already appeared behind him, his Sharingan was active and 1 tomoe was spinning, he looked like a demon as he struck the dagger right on the wolf's vital parts.
BOOM!
The wolf turned around and Roared, the pain seemed to of awakened its primal instincts, it looked even more ferocious than before. Blood was gushing out of his wounds.
" Shit, this body is still that of a child, I couldn't cut deep into the beast's skin! My strength is insufficient"
BANG! BANG! BANG!
The wolf-like beast swiped its massive paws toward Itachi, each strike had the weight of a mountain! Itachi was barely able to block the paw strikes, he felt like his arms would break any minute now.
"Think Itachi, think, everything has a weakness!"
Although Itachi looked worried on the outside, his heart was as still and calm as a lake, even faced with grave danger, nothing could phase him. He was like this from a young age, his confidence was backed by his supreme intelligence. Only by staying calm can you figure out your opponent! This was one of Itachi's greatest ideologies.
" Byakugan, activate! "
Itachi had no clue if this would work but it was worth a shot, this was the perfect time to test his new eyes.
But contrary to Itachi's thoughts, something magical happened. He was able to activate the byakugan whilst having his Sharingan active! As his 1 tomoe Sharingan span at lightning speed, his eye color did not change at all even after activating the byakugan, however, he was still able to retain all of the byakugans perks! His eyes were blood red, the Bakugan's power had assimilated with his Sharingan.
Itachi's vision expanded by hundreds of meters, he could see everything. As he dodged and blocked the strikes, he continued to analyze the wolf-like beast, he noticed there was little protection behind the wolf's legs, right behind the knee caps.
" This is it! There's very little muscle in that area, I have to strike now! "
Itachi swiftly ducked under the incoming strike and gripped his dagger tightly.
RIPPPPPP
Itachi sliced the dagger at one of the wolf's legs, blood gushed out like a fountain, the wolf fell on the floor limply as he looked at the small human in front of him, the wolf was staring at the human in fear, he wondered how such a small insignificant insect hurt him…
Itachi looked at the wolf sprawled on the ground coldly, it was time to put it out of its misery.
The wolf noticed the incoming danger and started to crawl backward, it was letting out small groans as if to beg for mercy.
" If I let you go now, how will the people you killed rest in peace? "
Itachi spoke calmly as he stared at the wolf. With every step he took the wolf groaned in fear, after what seemed like hours Itachi arrived in front of the fierce beast.
He looked at the wolf-like beast one last time before swiftly swiping his dagger across the wolf's neck. The wolf died on the spot instantly, a pool of blood could be seen flowing from its neck and onto the ground.
At this moment a familiar robotic sound resounded in Itachis head,
[ Ding! Host has killed the fierce beast 'Nether wolf'
Rewards are as follows : 200 points, x1 beast essence]
Itachi acknowledged the notification then put it to the back of his mind, he was in no mood to check the system right now.
Silence descended once again, it was so quiet that all you could hear was one's breathing.
Itachi let out a sigh of relief as beads of sweat poured down his forehead, this battle had truly taken a lot out of him. Not to mention activating the two eyes simultaneously had expended his energy greatly, he breathed in a breath of fresh air and calmed his breathing.
Itachi looked around and saw dead bodies sprawled all around him…
" A pity indeed, even though I'm in a different world, the cycle of death remains…"
Itachi sighed again as he took a seat limply on the ground, as he continued to observe his surroundings something suddenly caught his eye.
He narrowed his eyes and expanded his vision, with both the Sharingan and byakugan active he could see extremely clearly, even if the target were 100 meters away.
Itachi silently observed the target, the target was standing still hiding behind a bush, Itachi strained his eyes more and finally saw the man's face, but what greeted him was someone he knew.
It was Elder Lee! He had a vicious smile on his face as he coldly observed the outcome of the battle!
