Chapter 18: Mysterious scroll
The cultivation package was currently Itachis top priority, who knows, maybe it will contain a cultivation manual.
He wanted to hurry back to his dorms as soon as possible.
" Instructor Lu, may i leave? I have some business to attend to"
The instructor snapped out of his daze and looked at Itachi in confusion, its only been a few minutes and Itachi wanted to leave.
" Okay, before that let me brief you in regards to your placement in the pavilion. You must come here every day at 7am. The leading assistant of the pavilion will fill you in with more details tomorrow"
Itachi nodded his head and proceeded to walk back to his dorms to open the special cultivation package that he was gifted by the system.

The nether sect is located in a remote location on the eastern continent, the world has 5 continents that were connected. Eastern continent, northern ocean, western dunes, southern continent and the central plains.
Great tang was located in the central continent, this is where the most lustrous place on the planet was, it was the breeding ground for mighty cultivators, the epitome of power.
And within a certain place in the capital of great tang, a mighty palace stood. The palace stretched towards the sky, it was so big you could see it hundreds of miles away, this palace was the pride of great tang. Where only the mightiest of cultivators were allowed to enter.
In a massive hall in the palace, there was a ginormous scale, currently the scale was tipping slightly, facing the scale there was a man embroidered in white robes, with dragon inscriptions. His face was not visible, hidden within a mysterious vale.
With every breath he took, the surroundings seemed to freeze, even though the man was restraining his aura to the maximum, the surroundings couldn't help but shudder before this very man!
The mighty figure studied the scales then slowly breathed in and went into contemplation.
" The scales that govern the world has tipped slightly, this could only mean one thing. Something that has upset the very core of the planet has appeared, could it be some sort of external force? Not to mention, there have been rumours of some sort of heaven-defying spiritual root appearing within the mortal world. Could the prophecy of the shamans really be coming true? Will that person truly appear…"
The all-powerful figure slowly turned around and walked back to his mighty throne, he sat down and reclined back on his chair. No one knew what he was thinking at this moment.

Nether sect
" Hahaha! Finally, a cultivation manual! Bai Xiou Chun walked out of the ancestral book pavilion in high spirits. His chubby face rippled in the sunlight.
Alongside him, many others also walked out in high spirits. The new recruits seemed to of all gotten their cultivation manuals and were rushing out of the pavilion to reach there dorms and practice.
" Although my manual is only tier 1, its enough for me, that sucker Ma Bo managed to get a tier 2 manual, can't believe he was able to enter the second floor- ehhh? Wasnt brother Feng waiting here beside the instructor, where did he go? "
Bai Xiou Chun was looking around for Itachi but to no avail. Itachi was nowhere to be seen.
"I wonder if he went back to his dorm, let me pay him a visit"
Bai Xiou Chun inwardly thought. Thinking of this, he decided to go back to his dorms and practise his cultivation manual. With also the thought of checking up on Itachi.
" Kids! Listen to my commands, all of you will show up at the academy training grounds tomorrow! 9 pm sharp! Anyone who is late will face severe punishment! "
Instructor lu bellowed to the new recruits.
" Yes, Instructor! "
All of the students briefly bowed and walked off.

Itachi's dorms
Itachi sat there on his bed in a lotus position, staring at the seemingly blue system menu.
" ugh! I have been sitting here for 30 minutes, where is this special cultivation package?! "
Itachi was now losing his composure as he browsed through the system menu, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't find the package.
As he was almost about to give up, he saw an inconspicuous blue scroll in his inventory. Before this, Itachi had ignored this particular item and brushed it off as some sort of useless scrap of paper. However, looking back at it, the item piqued his interest.
Why would a scroll suddenly appear there? Although it didn't seem to be the cultivation "package" that Itachi was seeking, nevertheless something was telling Itachi to open this scroll.
Following this trail of thought, Itachi clicked on the scroll and lightly said " Open "
Whoosh
All of sudden waves and waves of blue light seeped out of the scroll, and Itachi's hair and robes started to violently flutter. The blue light seeped out so much to the point where Itachi's room was now cloaked in blue light, he couldn't tell where he was nor could he tell what direction he was facing.
Within this vortex of blue light, Itachi could feel boundless power from it! He couldn't explain what it was but the mere presence shook him to his core! He could feel his soul wavering, on the brink of extinguishing! If this kept up, he was bound to be eradicated.
It reminded him of the power when he activated his spiritual root, except this time it was a million times more concentrated!
Itachi closed his eyes and calmed his beating heart.
After the time it took to brew a cup of tea, Itachi finally opened his eyes. What greeted him was something utterly shocking!
In front of Itachi's eyes laid a vast expense of blue light! It was so vast it seemed to stretch out infinitely! Small Waves of blue light would brush past Itachi's face occasionally, fluttering his hair.
Itachi looked around and realised that he was no longer in his room, the bed he was sitting on was nowhere to be seen. Instead, he was sitting in a lotus position on what seemed to be the floor.
You guessed correctly, even the floor was shrouded in blue. Like the surface of a calm lake, crystallised and see-through.
" Is this another dimension altogether? It seems as though I have been transported into a different plain "
Although Itachi was initially shocked, he quickly composed himself and calmed his mind. Now that he was here, he wanted to know how to get out.
Although he sensed no malicious intent here, his soul felt like it was under a heavy burden. Staying here for too long could potentially kill him.
Itachi looked around and quickly got up from his seated position, he walked forward, stepping on the crystallised floor. It almost seemed like he was floating in space.
Ignoring this strange feeling, Itachi kept walking forward.
Hours passed and after what seemed like an eternity , Itachi finally gave up! There was absolutely no sign of life here! Not to mention the burden on his soul was growing larger.
" This can't go on, at this rate I wont live to see another day "
Itachi exhaled and spoke these words to himself.
" What should I do… What should I do… "
" Hold on a minute! "
Itachi came up with a sudden thought, he wasn't sure if this would work but he wanted to give it a try!
" Sharingan, activate! "
Whooosh
Itachi's black pupils started to spin and change colour, from black to crimson red. A 1 tomoe Sharingan appeared.
Itachi once again looked around but he was swiftly left disappointed!
" So this doesn't work either, I still can't see anything but blue waves of light… Let's try activating the byakugan alongside it! "
Although activating the byakugan at the same time as the Sharingan took too much of Itachis's stamina, at this point he had no choice!
Swoosh
Several veins appeared around Itachi's eyes, the byakugan was now active.
"Hmm, now let's see… huh? The blue light in that direction seems to be extremely concentrated, far more than the rest of the place. The byakugan is truly miraculous. I can even detect such minute details I would never be able to with the Sharingan! "
Itachi praised the byakugan, without it he wouldn't of found any clues. With this being said, Itachi swiftly started walking towards the direction where there was a high concentration of blue light.
After about an hour of walking, Itachi finally saw something unexpected.
"It's the scroll from the system! "
Situated on a stand that was one meter high, a blue scroll with writings that were indistinguishable from normal writing of this time and age was present. Shrouded in a veil of blue light, the scroll looked vastly different from how it looked in the system interface.
The difference between heaven and earth! In this vast expanse, the scroll seemed all-powerful, as though in order to take this scroll only an almighty being would be worthy!
Itachi stared at this mysterious scroll and he couldn't help but gulp his saliva, the power coming from that scroll left Itachi's back dripping with sweat.
In normal cases, Itachi would have left the scene but something was tugging at his heart, something was telling him that if he was able to acquire this scroll, something magical would happen.
The stand and the scroll on top of it seemed to be the only thing here on this vast plain. It was like an oasis in the middle of a desert.
Itachi straightened his back and decided to walk towards the scroll, deep down he knew that his only way to get out of this dangerous plain was to acquire this scroll. The scroll was only 20 metres ahead but it seemed like it was thousands of miles away.
With this, Itachi decided to take his first step. One, two, three, Itachi walked closer and closer towards the scroll, he was now 10 metres away.
9 metres…
8 metres…
3 metres…
1 metre…
Just as Itachi was about to take the final step, something impossible happened! Something that shocked Itachi to his core, almost making him stumble and fall over!
" YOUNG MAN! Take another step and not even the gods will be able to save you! Dost thou DARE! "
A voice that could encompass the universe reverberated throughout the vast blue plain!
