Chapter 12: Chapter 12: A Date Broken

Katie’s POV

“I don’t know.” Insecurity leaked through my voice as I looked at my reflection in the mirror.

“Trust me, the blue is perfect. It brings out the green in your eyes. It’s stunning,” Olivia said from my bed.

We had been in the same position for the last hour. Me trying on clothing that we had just purchased from the mall, Olivia freely giving her opinions on which ones she thought worked and which ones she thought we needed to return.

Olivia had this theory that the mall mirrors were tricked and would never let me try on clothes in the store, resulting in me purchasing everything to just have to make another trip to the mall to return over half of it.

“Try the yellow one on again,” Olivia said with her mouth full of some sort of candy she bought from the bulk candy store.

“I have to start getting ready at some point,” I reminded Olivia.

“Where is he taking you tonight?” Olivia asked me.
