Chapter 123: Preparing A Weapon

In the middle of a random forest with an extremely huge lake nearby it, as the sun started to slowly go down, Ronald was currently leaning his back on a tree trunk while quietly playing a mobile game in order to kill some time.

The reason why Ronald was practically out in the middle of nowhere right now was because he was waiting for Iris to finish cultivating near the lake.

That's right, despite the fact that Iris both in the novel and the one in his previous life didn't know how to cultivate at all, the Iris in this life somehow knew how to cultivate.

Not only that, but the cultivation method that Iris was using to cultivate wasn't just one of those typical method that most cultivators in this world would use.

The method that she was using to cultivate right now was called the Fragmented Soul Refinement Art.

Fragmented Soul Refinement Art pretty much worked similarly to a basic cultivation method, the difference however was that by using this method, one would have to divide their soul into fragments, which by doing so, allows a cultivator to absorb and even refine more qi into their dantian, and the more fragments one can divide up in their soul, the faster one can cultivate.

Now it sounded extremely useful and all, but there were two major drawbacks to it.

The first drawback it had was that when someone would divide their soul into fragments in order to cultivate, a pain that is more painful then being stabbed 1000 time comes along with it.

The second drawback it had was if one ends up absorbing more qi than their body can actually handle, it typically almost always results in instant death, and since absorbing qi with a bunch of soul fragments were much harder to do than absorbing qi with just a soul itself, mistakes were almost always bound to happen.

To be honest, when Ronald had first saw that Iris was using the Fragmented Soul Refinement Art to cultivate, he was very taken aback.

In order for a cultivator to even start using this cultivation method beforehand, the cultivator has to at least be a Nascent Soul.

But after considering that Iris had somehow managed to escape from Kedron's grasp despite their level differences, Ronald wasn't even surprised anymore.

What Ronald really wanted to know now was how Iris knew how to cultivate, and how she knew about this cultivation spot, which had a extremely high abundance of qi and even some true qi floating around it.

But Ronald knew that he couldn't just walk up to Iris and ask her how she knew about all of this.

He wasn't even suppose to know about cultivation to begin with.

Nevertheless, he'll eventually figure it out as time passes.

Just as Ronald continued playing on his phone however, Iris stopped cultivating all of a sudden and then looked at Ronald's direction, causing his heartbeat to slightly beat faster.

However, it seemed like he had worried over nothing, since Iris then turned around and faced the lake.

And after watching Iris seemingly stare at the lake for a few more minutes...

WHOOSH!

A huge blue creature that was about 15 meters long, had gold eyes, and was shaped like a crab suddenly jumped out of the lake and hopped onto the land.

Iris, who had managed to back off in time before it could crush her, immediately jumped and accelerated upward in order to be above the crab's head.

The crab upon seeing Iris fly right above him, tried to use his claws in order to swat her away.

But instead of managing to swat her away, Iris had instead landed on the crab's claws, and using the claws as a pad, dashed down in full speed and landed on his eyes, causing its gold eye to shatter and making the crab stunned for a second.

Taking advantage of its stunned state, Iris quickly grabbed onto its shell, then threw herself onto the remaining gold eye it had.

Instead of shattering the remaining gold eye however, this time she ripped off the eyeball from the crab's eyestalk, leaped down from its eyestalk and landed back on the ground while holding the eyeball, which was double the size of her palm, and then quickly ran far away from the crab.

The crab who was now missing both of his eyeballs started frantically swinging its claws all over the place, while slowly bleeding out to death.

Then after the crab had bled out to death, Iris walked up to the corpse of the crab, flipped it over on its back, hopped onto its abdomen, teared through its abdomen and then went inside of the crab's body.

A few minutes later, Iris walked out of its body with a large slightly blueish spine on her back and held a small jar with some kind of blue liquid inside of it.

Iris then sat back down and started constructing a weapon shaped like a dagger using the eye and spine she had gotten.

Seeing this as another golden opportunity to try and kill Iris again, Ronald sent a text to Kedron telling him where Iris's location was.
