Chapter 61: Before the Rumble: Chapter 60

It was a day before the school rumble and it was going to happen in a certain private building owned by one of the nobles of a high ranking family. That family was none other than the Dottingham Family.

It wasn't weird that a rich family like them would organize an event like this. After all, the Great grand patriarch of the family was one of the people that started this whole tradition. Along with them, other families too took participation in supporting the event for it to be successful throughout the years.

And now it was time to start the tradition all over again.

It's Purpose?

To be recognized as a force of power in their year of level. Where five student representatives from sections A to F where acted and must show their current strength and promise.

This whole event was all for both Entertainment and Recognition for their power.

Inside that private building, one certain girl was training her very capacity in magic. Her ability to wield fire was truly at a genius's level. Her talent was something that the Dottingham family was proud to say was worth their name.

As she threw the flames down at the metal target, its shape was contorted and turned into a spear that pierced through the target like it was piece of paper.

She smiled as her training was paying off from all her efforts.

"Tomorrow's the day where we can once again show the people our Family's potential for the future." said a man who suddenly walks out of the dark corners of the room.

"...Don't worry dad, I'll make sure to remind the people that the Dottingham family isn't getting any weaker than it was since the day we started." she said this with a smile on her face.

"Good…have you read through papers I sent you?"

"You mean the profiles of some students that caught your attention?…I guess I sort of read through some them. I think I have them in my bag."

"What do you mean you guessed? These children are talents who are strong enough to bring you to your edge…read through them with the intent to learn against them. Especially the student from the D-class, he seems like a frantic fellow."

"Oh him, I've heard that he beat up a few of his classmates in one of the classes he took…he nearly puts one of the guys in a coma..." as she said this herself, she felt a bit worried over handling a guy who was that crazy…but she lift her shoulders back up and looks back to the target with a fierce look on her face.

"But don't worry, I'll make sure to put him in his place." she said.

She proceeded to attack the target with a barrage of fire spears.

*Boom!* each spears exploded and tore through the target until none was left.

"Hmm Good. As for the student leader of class B, even though she has the element that completely contradicts with yours, don't be taken aback by this simple fact…you are a Dottingham, Countering Elements mean nothing to us. Overpower them and gain your worth." he said this with a heavy tone that made the girl a bit nervous.

"...I will." she said.

As he heard her determination, he simply went quiet and started walking away from the room her daughter was training at. He didn't want to disturb her training any longer.

But before he could leave, his daughter suddenly calls out to him.

"...Father, is it possible for me to invite a few of my friends into the building tomorrow? I really wanna show them how strong I've gotten since the last time I fought with them." she said this with a bit of cutesy tone to appeal to her father.

"...Okay." and her father agreed.

He continued walking away but his face showed a contorted expression that expressed a eager proudness.

'Ah!!! my Daughter is soo Cuuute!'

He walked away and soon the Girl was left all alone.

She practiced a bit more on her magic and soon after she finished, she walked down to one of the resting areas and pulled out the papers of some of the student profiles from her bag.

"...okay, lets see here." she started reviewing the students.

Some caught her eye, others were pretty basic and most were not really all to special.

"...Okay, So we have Tyler from Class D, Richard from my class and Eleanor Denzell from the B class…it seems like these are the only three that are going to be a bit hard to fight against…from Class F, E and C…all of the guys here aren't really all to hard to deal with." she looks to the rest of the representatives with nothing more than a blank and bored expression. Expecting that not one of them was a real threat to her.

But as she continued to look through each and every profile that was on her, she saw someone that was a familiar face…as if she had seen this person before.

"...Hmm? Have I seen this guy before?"

She read this particular person's profile and found something that was pretty intriguing to say the least.

"Hmm, he's a D-rank hunter just like me…he uses a shield and a spear… and this is his second time he took the entrance exam, His fifteenth place in the scholastic rank over all and he took on a D-rank combat doll…and he's seventeen years old."

She read through this profile with expecting eyes and not long after, she decided that this particular student was someone to look out for.

As she finished reviewing every possible contender, she now made her way out of the training room and off to clean herself up.

Tomorrow was the day she could finally show her worth to a lot of people, so she had to be ready. As such, all she had to do now was take a shower to rinse off the sweat and call her friends to invite into watching her performance tomorrow.

As she dialed a certain number, she happily called out a certain protagonist's name.

"Hey Arthur, I ask my father and he said it was okay for you guys to come…so you better come." she smiled as she talked with one of her friends.

She could not hide her smile from the exciting event tomorrow.

***

The day finally came.

Four students from the academy were waiting intensively at the front of a certain student's apartment building.

They waited at the front gate of a certain classmate they had expected to be ready since twenty minutes ago. But since they called, he has yet come out from his apartment.

"...*Sigh* Should we go get him?" asked Remmy as he was getting really bored of waiting for his friend.

"Yeah, lets go." said Sarah as she got off from the limo they were riding in who was owned by Rebertha's family.

"I'm coming too." said Sofia as she too followed the two classmates.

Rebertha also followed because she wanted to see what sort of environment her classmate was living in.

As they walked up the stairs, a certain thought all run up their heads in sync.

""…this place is old.""

They could see cracks from both the stairs and walls of this building…it made them worry if Hamil was living okay in such a rundown place.

While they were walking up the stairs, they were met with an old lady that seems to be sweeping the floors of the second floor.

"Hmm?" the old lady looks up from her sweeping and saw that four kids were trespassing here building.

"...Hello, I'm Rebertha Don Dumis, a student of the academy and I'm with my friends here to visit a classmate of ours. He's name is Hamil Crux." said Rebertha as she introduce everyone to the old lady.

"...Hmm, If you want to see the boy, follow me." the old lady lead the four students. And to their intrigued, they followed.

As they walked up the floors, one could not ignore the fact that this old lady was walking at a speed faster than their own.

A few steps later, the old lady showed them the room Hamil was staying at. The old lady proceeded to knock on the door with such a heavy force, that even the people living at the lower floors couldn't ignore it.

*Knock!* *Knock!* *Knock!*

"...Oy! You brat, wake up! Its morning already!"

The lady called out to him with such a nagging tone, that the students around her felt a bit bewildered by her actions.

Not long after, they could hear something going on inside the room. As if someone was falling down off a bed and slipping off his floor.

And then the door opened and showed a boy who was very tired and had a messy bed hair. He still hasn't showered yet or even ate breakfast. All they could see in him was that he was very exhausted, almost as if he looked like he hadn't slept in days.

"...Hmm? Oh hey guys" he was still drowsy while he was standing in front of the door but he saw the four and smiled as he recognized the them standing at his door.

His classmates were a bit shock to see the him in such a state, but Remmy looked at him and tried to ask what happened.

"Dude,what happened to you?"

"Hmm…I don't know what you mean?" Hamil didn't understand what he meant by his worries.

"Dude, you look like shit." said Remmy with a straight face.

"hehe..Bruh that's a bit hurtful…this is my morning face." he chuckled a bit as his friend commented on how shit he looked.

"We've been waiting for you for twenty minutes…I thought I told you we were picking you up at early in the morning." said Rebertha with an annoyed tone.

"Sorry, just give five minutes and I'll meet you down at the gate." He said this while he gestured himself to an apology.

"...Okay fine." Rebertha looked at him and simply accepted his answer.

"I'll ready some tea while you people wait for him." said the Old lady.

"Ah, you don't have to." said Rebertha as she tried to deny the offer from the old lady.

"Oh, its no problem at all dear. After all, it's the least I could do to the boy's friends. Here, you guys make yourselves comfortable while I ready some tea in the kitchen." the Old lady started pushing all of them inside Hamil's room. Hamil tried to stop her, but her menacing gaze stops him right before he could do any resistance.

One by one, his classmates entered the small room and made themselves at home. They awkwardly sat at one of the empty spaces and luckily for them, they just fit in great.

"Ohh, so this is the common room of a commoner." said Rebertha as she was intrigued by the simplicity of the room.

'...hmm, it smells just like him." thought Sofia as she looked around the room with a happy expression.

"...Hmm, its bland." said Sarah as she wasn't all to intrigued by the blandness of the room.

"...Damn, you got a queen size bed!?" Remmy on the other hand was more amazed by the bed.

"...Hmm, luckily you still had those tea leaves I gave you a year ago. I'll make the tea, you guys just settle yourselves." said the old lady as she walked to the kitchen and started preparing a tea.

"I'll just take a shower and be right back." said Hamil as he started making his way to the bathroom.

A few minutes later…

As Hamil got out of the shower, he then proceeded to dry himself. But after he finished drying himself, he noticed that he forgot to bring in a few clothes into the bathroom. He was completely naked and all of his clothes was still at his wardrobe.

His only chance to do something about this was to call on Remmy and ask him to get him a set of clothes.

"H-hey Remmy." hamil called out to him in a nervous tone.

"Yeah?" And Remmy responded back, while he was sipping on the tea the old lady prepared for him.

"I forgot to bring in my clothes, can you pick some for me in my wardrobe."

"...Ahh sure. He was a bit hesitant but he still did it nonetheless.

He walked up to the wardrobe and saw four hoodies being hanged.

'...Hmm, I think I have these pair of clothes in my closet.' he thought to himself while he kept on digging through his clothes.

"...Hmm?" but after digging for a while, he saw something he couldn't really believe to be something Hamil owned.

'...A gun?' he stared at the pistol and…continued to look for a pair of clothes that suited each other.

He completely ignored the gun that was buried under the clothes and soon made his way to pass on the clothes to Hamil.

A few minutes later, Hamil came out of the bathroom fully clothed with a blue hoodie and black pants.

"I guess we should get going then." said Rebertha as she stood up from table.

They made their way outside and soon walked out of the building all up to the limo that waited for them for almost twenty minutes.

They both thanked the old lady for the hospitality and waved goodbye as the limo drove off with all the representatives of the class C students.

Hamil left staring at the lady with a smile on his face and the old lady looked at him with a gentle expression. almost as if she was relieved to see the boy finally having friends to have fun with.
