Chapter 3: Affectionate
The gentleman was left speechless but had no more to say as it would have just been chaos arguing with the woman. Without a second thought, the man extended his hand , waiting for the maiden to take it.
Sobrina grinned at the man and did just that , " See my lord? We have already grown affectionate towards one another. " It was obvious she had no thought of giving up whatsoever. They later boarded a carriage that was a few miles away from the spot in which they were initially at.
It was at most 3 : 30 to 4 am when they arrived at a large manor which seemed to be the home of the gentleman. Sobrina looked out of the carriage in awe, it was surely beautiful , more beautiful than her home itself. Before she could speak, the gentleman who sat before her gave a brief introduction.
" Daniel Kakeshi, Duke of House Kakeshi, well met. " He again held no emotion as he spoke , in fact , his title is known by all. He was sure just by telling her his name, as well as his title, she would break the carriage itself to escape.
Sobrina looked the Duke straight into his eyes, her face obviously expressing her emotions. She seemed puzzled, surprised and even happy. Daniel surely did not expect this reaction , say , he seemed to hold the exact same emotions himself.
" A powerful man indeed, say my lord, is it true that your eyes deepen in color the more you drink the blood of your victims? " She asked, so nonchalantly that it would make you think of her as a witch , who held no mind nor any sense of communication.
The duke crossed his arms and suddenly smiled , he was getting more interested by the second. How could such a woman act in this way? Is she not fearful? She must have not heard the ' right ' rumors , were the only questions the man had in mind. Honestly he had no answer for her, she'd have to figure it out herself, so the rest of the ride was consumed with a staring competition between the two.
It was now time to enter the manor and they were quietly exiting the carriage , the duke ofcourse exited first and the woman after. All that could be seen was the large front section of the manor, along with servants who were there to escort the Duke. Sure enough, the servants were extremely shocked to see their lord with a woman, not to mention, an unknown one at that.
" Greetings Lord Kakeshi! " exclaimed a female servant.
" Greetings my lord. " Said another, eyeing the woman who stood beside him.
Daniel nodded his head then continued walking, every step he made Sobrina followed. It got to the point where they were both in Daniel's sleeping chambers. The conversation between the two only begun after the two servants were sent away.
" Duke Kakeshi , i'm your guest yet I am being ignored! Where shall I sleep at night?" Sobrina asked, waiting for the dukes reply. She then took off the coat in which she wore and dropped it without care onto a nearby couch.
Daniel looked at the woman without a care in the world but then he got the perfect idea. Honestly, what do you expect from these two? They both have mental illnesses. " This shall be your room as it is mine, can it not? You spoke of marriage beforehand." The grin on his face was so evident, you could easily get a stroke from just a peek.
Sobrina looked at the Duke possessing a face that was filled to the brim with joy. " Well then Duke! Why not propose now? It is obvious we hold feelings for one another! " She exclaimed, this must have not been the reaction he had expected, but there is no changing the fact that she was all about him and he's slowly falling into her little trap.
He decided to give up arguing with the girl , but still stuck to what he said before hand and sure , he'll marry her , just not for her purpose. Though we all know that along the line of their interactions with one another, he'll surely grow to love her.
