Its detection of the Kurogiri's fur in the air gave it the ability to find the distinct individual Kurogiri so that it knows how much prey is left to hunt or has been hunted.

"The hyena men-" Yuri said. "They summoned the flying monster which is a natural predator of those rabbit beasts so that it will help them easily hunt them."
