Chapter 2: A Pink Scenery
It's a wonderful day outside.
Birds are chirping.
Flowers are blooming…
On a morning like these, it's a great day to start.
A sunlight shining through from the window made Kouji wake up.
Rubbing its eyes as he stood up and went to the bathroom.
After washing its face, next, he went to the kitchen.
Grabbing stuff in the refrigerator and starting cooking.
A crackling sound and delicious smell coming from the pan.
Succeeding to cook the food.
Bacon, egg, and miso soup was arranged in the living room.
Watching the news while munching the food he made.
And later, he takes a bath.
Washing and rinsing his body properly.
Then follow to wear some clothes.
A school uniform.
Kono Kouji, he's a 1st year high school student.
The reason why he woke up this early was indeed for school.
Looking in a mirror, already fully clothed, he's combing his hair.
A hair that was neat and look messy at the same time.
"Alright, time to go."
DING-DONG!
A doorbell sound.
When he just finished preparing, the doorbell suddenly rang.
Thus, carrying his bag, he opens the door.
"Good morning, Kou!"
As he opened the door.
A girl wearing a school uniform that is made of the finest materials and is extremely fashionable. A long-sleeved white polo with a ribbon is worn over a navy color blazer with white edging on certain areas, such as the cuffs and as well the skirt.
Greet him from the other side.
"Morning, Michi."
Kobe Michiko, she's Kouji's neighbor and as well his childhood friend.
"Are you ready to go, Kou?"
"Yeah, let's go."
The purpose for Michiko coming to Kouji house was to pick him up.
With each other, they always come to school since kindergarten.
So after locking the door, they left together.
Walking in the neighborhood.
Make one's way to the school.
And as soon as they arrive at a brick road heading to the school, a pinkish scenery is shown.
A blossom tree gets gusting by the wind flowing with the petals going down.
Seeing such a scenery, both of them were astonished by it.
"Wow… pretty…"
Michiko spoke.
Then she took out her phone and started taking a pic.
"Hey, Kou, let's take a selfie."
"Huh? Why include me?"
"Ohhh come on! Just one take."
"Alright, fine."
Standing in the middle of the road, that gives them a background of a pink tree.
In Michiko pose, a peace sign,
"Come on, Kou! Make a pose, too."

"Are you already satisfied?"
"Yeah."
"Then, let's go already."
"Wait, why don't we stay here for a while?"
"What about school? We're still far away, we might get late."
"It's fine, It's still early. And the others are doing the same as well."
The students, in the same school as them, were stopping and sitting on a bench as they gazed upon the pink scenery.
"So why not enjoy the view for a bit?"
"...fine."
She successfully persuaded him.
And so together, they sat on a bench and stared at such a pleasing sight.
They also had a conversation.
Talking about the scenery.
School stuff.
Even their childhood.
It said that they're just going to stay for a bit. But it seems that they got immersed from chatting and didn't realize the time.
Suddenly, a church bell sound was ringing from afar.
"Oh, shoot, the bell!"
"Ah!"
Once the sound was heard, Kouji and Michiko started running.
There are other students running alongside them.
"This is your fault."
Kouji blames Michiko.
"Eh? How is it my fault that we're too immersed in our conversation and not realized the time?"
"Aaa… I wish I hadn't agreed to you a while ago."
"Just forget it, what is done is already done."
Following the path of the brick road, the bell sounds getting louder.
Or we can say it's getting closer.
The sound was coming from the school.
An own tower separate from the main building, that has a large bell at the top, and it's automatically functioning.
Kouji and Michiko were still running, but their speed was getting slower. So we can say that the two of them are tired.
Yet they didn't give up and continued running.
In a second, the time was up, and the gate was closed.
Many students were not able to get in.
And for Kouji and Michiko, fortunately, they made it.
However, the running didn't stop there. They continued on their way inside the school.
In a rush in the hallway, immediately going up the stairs, and getting closer to their room.
"Kono… Kono?"
Hearing his last name called by a voice of a lady.
So after reaching the door, Kouji shouts, "P-Present!"
"Alright, Kono Kouji is here. Come in."
Kouji went inside.
"Um… I'm here too."
Following Kouji, Michiko spoke from his back.
"Oh, Kobe is here as well. Come in already, the class is starting."
So Michiko went inside as well.
And after going to their respective seats, the class starts.
The teacher started teaching the class.
Even though the teacher was giving lessons, like always, there were some students either sleeping or not listening to the class like looking out the window, talking with friends, and some were fiddling with their phone.
But Kouji isn't like that.
He's listening to the lesson attentively.
And It's the same with other subjects as well.
Him listening and writing the important things in the notebook.
A teacher switching to another teacher with a new subject. So a new subject, a new thing to learn for every teacher that comes.
As time passes,
He didn't do anything else than listen and learn.
"Okay class! Tomorrow, March 23, we're going to have a test, so prepare for it.
"Alright, Kiiro-sensei."
"Now, the class is dismissed."
At 4 pm, school ends.
The time for the students to go home.
So after Kouji cleared his table, he went to Michiko's seat.
"Ready to go home, Michi?"
"Sorry, Kou, I have a club today. So you can go without me."
For Michiko, she has a club activity, so she can't go home yet.
But for Kouji, he doesn't have a club, so he can go.
"Alright then, see you tomorrow, I guess."
Then, after a farewell, he left the school alone.

Day is beautiful outside.

At An early time like this, it's a good time for Kouji to wake up.

"Like this scene already happened before."
"This cherry blossom? Don't we always see this scene every spring?"
"No, like, I mean that this situation happened before."
"Huh?! Your words don't make sense. Why not sit on that bench and try to think about it while we enjoy the view?"
"...fine?..."
Sitting on an empty bench at the side of the road felt something… familiar.
