Chapter 4: Victory
300 meters before the impact.
"All troops listen! We may die tonight but we will still be brothers and sisters in the after life. If we have the chance to be reborn I want y'all to live a happy and free life. A life without restrictions, A new life where you can do anything you want."
"Today will be our independence day!"
Nero the leader shouted as the enemy is getting closer.
"All troops hold your position!" said by Nero the leader.
"Spearmen at the wall hold your position! Ready your spears!" said by the commander assigned for Spearmen at the wall.
250 meters away...
100 meters away...
36 meters away...
"Hold!!!!!" shouted by Commander Nero the leader.
Booooooooooooom!!!!
The zombies collided at the walls and the gate of Nero City the last bastion of humanity.
"They have collided!"
"Spearmen! Stab!" shouted by the commander.
Grrr... Groans~
Each of the walls they are small holes enough for spears to fit in. Each strokes of stabs the spearmen make a layer of zombies has fallen.
"Oilmen pour down the oils!" shouted by the commander assign for Oilmen.
Dark sticky oils rain down at the zombies and soaked them wet with flammable oil along with the fortified wall.
"Fire archers! Fire!"

Shoooooosh~
The dark night was once again lit by the raging fire that sweep all those oiled undead infantry.
Like a chain reaction, the fire scattered at the dried walking corpse eating them dead alive.
By just that 1 onslaught, humanity manage to take almost 47% of the enemy.
"Commander Nero! The gate is not gonna hold much longer!" said by the soldier.
"Get ready to face the enemy!" shouted by Nero the leader who is at the lead of ground troops.
Boooooooooom!!!
"The gate has been breached!"
"Fire the Hwacha!"
Then like a gatling gun the hwacha fired an endless amount of arrows at the flaming corpse.
1 second...
2 seconds...
3 seconds...
....
9 seconds...
At the 10th seconds of the hwacha firing, it stopped and needs a reload. But it manage to annihilate hundreds of walking flaming corpses.
The lying bodies of zombies have made a small hill that fortunately block the incoming wave of zombie.
"That corpse hill will not gonna hold, but it will gonna hold long enough for us to reload the hwacha." said by Nero the leader.
1 minute has passed...
The corpse hill collapsed and the undead slip in.
"Spearmen who are in my command! Attack!" commanded by Nero the leader.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
War cries could be heard as they moved forward to face the enemy.
Stab! Stab! Stab! Stab!
They chip out the enemy forces one by one. Although the enemy have no intelligence because they are already dead but they still have their instinct.
The corpses that slip by the onslaught of Spearmen are slowly forming a letter C formation.
Nero noticed it and ordered for his subordinate to send reinforcement for them. "The ones who are holding a sword or machete reinforce them."
A total of 100 melee came forward to reinforce the 300 Spearmen.
Then, the sound of whistles could be heard and they observed the surrounding only to see a valley of arrows came from the dark sky shot by the elite skeletons controlled by a Ruler.
"Everyone take cover! Shield-wall!" shouted by the commanders.
The ground troops took their shield and form a circle like a turtle shell. The 300 spearmen took cover under the gate beside the corpse hill while fighting the waves of undead.
The countless arrows took the lives of some human soldiers and the lives of their fellow comrades the undead zombie.
The surprise attack resulted to 28 spearmen to die who unfortunately did not take cover and 3 melee human combatants. Additionally, it took almost 7% of the undead army at the siege.
The undead army is slowly getting defeated as more than 87% of them were defeated.
...
7 hours has passed after the siege started. It was finally dawn. They finally defeated the undead army along with their elite skeleton soldiers.
But...
A deafening roar rang out throughout the battlefield.
Grrrrrr.....!
Then a tremendous earthquake could be felt. 2 miles from here the Ruler with 4 arms and 1 eye is charging towards Nero City.
The ruler is as big as 2 story building with bulging muscles. Its 2 upper hands' holding a tree and used as a club.
His big buddy made is so heavy that each steps made tremors and his foot sunk on the soil.
It made an intimidating aura that can make one submit to their death, but the humanity has been ready for thier death since the beginning. They will fight and fight until they are all annihilated.
...
"One of them is coming on its way to us!"
"All catapults! Aim at the Giant!"
"Archers! Aim at the Giant!"
The commanders gave out orders to shoot down the Ruler who is rushing its way towards the city wall.
"Steady~"
"Fire!"
"Fire!"
"Fire"
The commanders shouted and a valley of giant debris and archers fired their arrows.
Some of the debris and arrow missed thier target and some didn't.
"Ready the giant crossbow!" shouted by Nero the Leader.
"Aim at the gate!"
Then, a giant cross bow at the top of 1 story building is slowly turning its way towards the gate. It have an ammo of 8 meters long solid iron arrow. "Ready the oil!" said by the soldier in charge of the giant crossbow.
"Coat the arrow with oil and ready the torches!"
...
After some time the Ruler is only 500 meters which is a short distance for it to collide with the gate.
Along its way it was shot with many projectiles and gained injuries, wounds deep enough for it to bleed tons of blood.
It was growing weak.
...
"Its' coming!"
"Get outta the gate!"
The commanders who are at the top of Nero walls near the gate are evacuated to another wall.
Booooooooooom~!
The Ruler destroyed the gate and it created a dusk cloud that covers his entrance.
3 seconds later a debri came from the broken gate was sent flying and hit one of ruin building.
"Attack!" commanded by Nero the leader.
All troops have focus their attack at the Ruler who is now inside their walls.
The Ruler has also started its attack. It swings his club and hit the ground infantry that causes them to die in a smashed state.
Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!
War cries and shouts of pain are mixed inside the walls.
"Lit the arrow!"
"Fire the giant crossbow!" ordered by Nero the Leader.
Swoooooooosh~
The 8 meters arrow that is coated with flame penetrated its chess where the heart is located but unfortunately, it have 2 hearts.
"Kill the other heart!"
"Attack now! It is in a weakened and confuse state!"
All the soldiers stab and slice its flesh. The marksmen shot the head. Nero the leader also stab its other chess with multiple spears.
A moment later, the Ruler gained consciousness but it was severely weakened that even standing is a difficult job to do. But it still manage to swing its arms and have sent flying a few soldiers.
"Don't stop! Attack!" shouted by the commanders.
...
Finally, after a long battle the Ruler have been killed.
The Ruler's body is unrecognizable. All of its limbs has been cut off.

For Nero! For Nero!
War cries that signify victory is heard throughout the city.
