Chapter 17: An Update and paranoia!

It's been a week since Harry had started studying at Hogwarts, aside from his ridiculous peers everything was perfect. The library was massive and contained hundreds of thousands of tomes containing centuries of knowledge. If it weren't compulsory to show up in classes Harry would have likely skipped all of them, there wasn't anything the classes could have taught him when he had already gone through the first-year curriculum during the summer break.
Magic, Harry quickly realized came easily to him, maybe it was because of the experiences that shaped him as such, Intent being the driving force behind magic along with mana manipulation which Harry was quite skilled at, this also quickly became his limiting factor. Maybe the intent was dependent on his WIS stat cause he never had any problem with any spell from the Standard book of spells book series until he started trying the standard spells from the seventh edition of the book. His WIS being 63 apparently only let him cast spells that were up to the sixth-year curriculum.

Harry closed the book and tried one more time, he walked away from his secluded corner and walked towards a dead end, he stood between a wall and a bookshelf with only one way out, taking a deep calming breath Harry focused on the incantation and imagined himself lifting off the ground.
"Ascendio~" he chanted while moving his wand in a smooth 'b' shaped motion, he felt mana rush from his core and through his wand as it started forming an inverted S-shaped pattern before the pattern broke apart and the spell fizzled out.
*Sigh*
Harry let out a breath as he watched a blue screen pop up in front of him.
[Spell Construct failed- WIS isn't enough to cast the spell.]
Another thing that has changed in the past few days, his strange power has become more active. It all started after his first night at Hogwarts.

Harry's eyes opened at the exact same time as they usually do, he blinked a few times to get rid of the cobwebs because he saw something unexpected. Harry has had his weird powers for almost 7 years now. He never questions them because this was all he ever knew, along with his magic, his powers were his only companion.
"What the hell" Harry realized that his gamers mind was completely turned off for the first time in years, shock filled him as he continued reading the prompt.

'What!' Harry's mind became a jumbled mess as he read through everything once more before he felt the calm of Gamer's mind return. He could now see how much he relied on that one skill that was given to him by the system, his whole personality depended on being calm and thing through solutions but relying on an external power now made him feel uncomfortable.
Harry has always been able to rely on this weird power of his because he accepted it as a part of him, now as he read through the log or whatever it was a new sense of crisis overcame him, these schoolyard bullies and bigots that were occupying his mind were forgotten as Harry scrambled to get dressed. There was no way he was going to allow anyone to mess with his mind, not even this team delta which has helped him countless times throughout his life.

Harry settled back down on his seat and collapsed into it, he knew he has been overworking himself but he also knew that it won't matter unless he could avert this sense of crisis, at least he had managed to find out a way out of the situation.

He read this passage in an old tome that was explaining powerful and rare magics and he knew this is what he needed, and after a brief search, he found the skill in his new skill tree. While he was a little unsure of using the system to learn the skill he knew his mana manipulation was good enough that he could somehow copy the skill if he knew how to do it. This was the reason why he was learning all these new spells because every spell learned gave him experience which would give him the necessary Skill point to unlock the mind arts. With a sigh, he pushed 7 of his precious points into WIS and stood up to try again.
