Chapter 21: Upgrading to Town-II

While Aarv was waiting for the 'Explorer' teams to return, he got a notification from the system…

[Congratulations to player Aarv for completing the Quest: 1,000 silver transactions…]

'It is completed faster than I imagined…' thought Aarv as he looked at the notification in front of him. With The notification, one of the requirements to upgrade his town was completed.

'I think I need to speed things up now…'

Aarv immediately called Prahi and asked her to come to his meeting room…

---

After about 15 minutes,

Prahi came to the main meeting room. She looked a little haggard as she was working non-stop for more than two days inside the game. Aarv knew that once she made her decision, she would rather work to death than give up on her opportunities…

"You are working hard…" said Aarv after looking at Prahi.

"It is nothing… I like my work…" Prahi replied compassionately. She was abandoned by her family because of her being a girl. Now that she got a chance to prove her worth, she made up her mind to show her family her worth…

Aarv looked at Prahi with her determined gaze and asked, "How is the progress so far…?"

Earning 1,000 silver coins in a single day was not an easy task. Aarv did not understand what sorcery Prahi used to exhort the money out of people's pockets.

"Well… to tell you the truth we have an advantage of being first in the market… so for the first couple of days, we can price our goods however thing we want them to be… it is just a simple concept in product design and marketing…" Prahi replied patiently…

"Hmm… good… what about the Koli tribe people…? Are they co-operating well…?" Although Aarv trusted Rama Koli for being a loyal follower, He still did not trust the Koli tribe…

The main reason being, their love for gold and alcohol…

"They have cooperated well so far… but in the near future, it might change due to other people finding out about them…" Prahi said with a worry in her eyes.

"You don't have to worry about such a problem… As you can see, I have already prepared a solution…"

As aarv said in his last sentence, he passed a system message to Prahi. After receiving the message, Prahi looked confusedly at the message but, as she read more and more her eyes lit up…

"This is the best solution… and will solve all of our problems… hahaha," Prahi said with an excited face.

Aarv looked at her happy figure and said, "Now go and implement the changes…!!"

In the Peace Online documentation, it was mentioned that Npc personnel belonging to the NPC cities or other villages will be unable to join your village officially…

Aarv thought deeply on this line and found that the wording said 'Unable' instead of 'cannot. If he wasn't mistaken, the main keyword was 'Officially…'.

'What if I gave official documentation with the seal of my territory to the NPC characters…'

With that mindset, Aarv decided to create a citizenship record as well as a certificate of citizenship. The document that Prahi received elaborated on his idea of creating official records and binding the citizens within his territory with a contract…

And, his speculation came out to be true as he saw the number of citizens in his territory growing by the second…

"Yess…!!"

He felt overjoyed as he looked at the number going up…

Now time for the next part of the plan…

Aarv called uncle Dhruv to his meeting room. The old man came hastily and bought a lot of documents with him…

Aarv saw mad enthusiasm on old man Dhruv's face… he knew that the old man was passionate about his construction work. As soon as the old man came to the meeting room, he handed the documents to Aarv…

"Aarv Babu… these are the improved city construction blueprint…"

On the first day, Aarv reminded the old man to rework his city plan and the old man stayed up the whole night just to complete the rework of the city plan.

Aarv liked the hard-working mentality of old man Dhruv as he looked at the city plan.

The new city plan extended to about 700km around the fort of Janjira. The city had high walls of around 50 meters. The whole city had four entrances, three land ones and one through the sea.

Aarv could almost imagine a massive city with ironclad defences mightily blocking the enemies…

"Perfect… " that was the only word that came out of Aarv's mouth when he looked at the city plan…

"But milord… there is a problem of cost…" the old man interrupted Aarv's sweet dream by bringing up the main issue…

"How much will it cost…?" Aarv could not help but ask curiously…

"About a billion gold coins…"

"What…?" This time Aarv was utterly shocked. A billion gold coins..? That was almost 100 billion USD in the real world. Aarv slowly imagined his dream of having his dream city slowly crumbling away…

"Aarv babu we can make it cheaper by substituting the basalt rock with limestone or other softer rocks… this will save us a lot of money…" The old man suggested a cheaper solution.

Basalt rock is a type of volcanic rock generally found within the mountain ranges of Sahyadri and the Deccan plateau. It is one of the hardest rocks in the whole world making it difficult to work with it efficiently.

Listening to the old man's cheaper substitution, Aarv thought for a while…

'If I could just get the rock cutting technology… this problem might be non-existent…'

"We will wait… for now we should just focus on building the necessary things like houses, sewage systems, wells, reads etc."

Aarv decided to gamble and wait for the news from the exploring team to arrive. If they failed to obtain the technology, then Aarv would just change the basalt to softer, more efficient rocks.

"Yes, and one more thing… tell your people to only give houses who have the citizenship certificate…"

Aarv decided to immediately implement the territory's citizenship certificate.

The old man accepted his new orders and left the meeting room.

Later that night, just as Aarv was about to log off from the game, he heard an announcement from the system,

[ Congratulations player Aarv for completing the Quest: 1,000 citizens…]

[ All the quest to upgrade your town has been met…]

[Do you wish to upgrade your town to town-II…?]

Aarv immediately clicked on the yes option…
