Chapter 15: I'm Not A Man Of Words
The time was about to clock 6:30 when Anxi arrived in front of a tall gate, she cross-checked the address Xandria had sent to her one more time on her phone before taking any step further.
Work had been quite hectic today but she managed to pull it off and fortunately no mistakes were made. She barely came across her boss who had been out frequently for some reason, leaving Andrey who introduced himself as her boss's personal assistant incharge of his office.
She stood in front of the big gate with a relieved sigh, it took her almost an hour to locate the area of this place making her pay extra charges to that cab man who brought her here but in a way, she still felt cheated based on the amount he collected from her.
Taking a deep breath, she knocked on the gate, hoping someone would answer from the inside not until she heard a female robotic voice.
"State your request for a visit."
Anxi nearly jumped out of her skin the moment the gate spoke to her, retreating backwards while pointing her small handbag at it like it was some weapon, was it possessed or something??
She curiously scanned the gate with her big round eyes and realized the small little system at the side showing a thin figure of line on the screen.
Her eyes widened as it all suddenly made sense, is this what they called the automatic gate?
She's heard about gate's like this, an automatic gate would grant entry and exit to a person without requiring manual or physical intervention. Gosh how come she didn't realize this sooner.
Lowering her guard and feeling thankful no one saw her clumsy act, she softly spoke.
"I'm here at the request of Miss Xandria."
This is actually her first time coming across such devices it left her awed.
"Access granted!"
The door opened with ease, showing off the beautiful manor which hid within.
Her eyes marveled at the enchanting sight of the house as she slowly made her way in.
The front yard was equally captivating. She was enthralled by the sight and felt like she just stepped into heaven, she made her way to the doorstep, not willing to get drawn by the beauty of the house and be swayed from her reasons for coming here but what she didn't really expect was to come face to face with her boss who casually opened the door just before she got a chance to knock.
Anxi felt her breath seize and her pupils unknowingly dilate at the sight of him.
He was dressed in a black hoodie jacket with a white inner black shirt which slacked in a fashionable way, exposing his beautiful collar bones, matching his outfit with a black crazy jeans trouser.
His dark hair glistened with a touch of silver at the tip, it looked wet but certainly wasn't dripping any water.
He wore a glass colored round spec, the fashionable type that brought out the color of his hypnotizing, fathomless crystal-black eyes.
Anxi nearly went weak on the knees but held herself together while clutching into her bag, seriously this man needs to be arrested!!
"Good...good...evening boss." She greeted politely, his expression remained indifferent and he arched his brow in question, acting puzzled to see her in his home.
"What are you doing here?"
His tone and expression was one that never fails to stir up something at the depth of her, but she proceeded by answering his question.
"Uhhm...Xandria invited me over for...for a movie night." She really felt like biting her tongue, why was she stammering at this point?? It only added to her embarrassment.
"She's not around at the moment, if you aren't in a hurry, you're free to wait for her."
Before Anxi could reply or give a response, he walked out leaving the door open incase she planned on coming in.
Anxi tried to fight off the fast beating of her own heart, patting her chest constantly to ease it down.
She really should have called Xandria before showing up here, but now it's too late to even do that.
Well, it wouldn't hurt to wait a few minutes would it? After giving herself multiple reasons on why she needed to wait, she stepped in, quietly closing the door behind her.
Xander had already made it past the hallway, he realized his little bunny was right behind him, following him like a puppet, except she wasn't a puppet, she was rather an interesting being he couldn't wait to take control of.
Anxi's big eyes feasted on the beautiful decor of the magnificent building, the interior building was all painted in white, sparkling and attractive.
The hallway had a long passage and there was a black carpet with beautiful designs on them adding to the beauty, she felt she just stepped into some grand castle.
Making it to the spacious living room, everything including the tables, couch, were all instruments from the D-tech company, the D-tech company was and still is the most top brand of technology in Yu City and it takes a fortune to buy any source from there.
Even if she had to sell herself, the money still wouldn't be enough to buy a single instrument from that company but her boss's house was filled with almost all technologies from D-tech companies.
Just who is this man and how rich is he??
Xander took a seat on the couch and ushered for the dazed Anxi to equally take a seat, she sat on the couch maintaining her posture.
"I can't guarantee you she'll be back soon, next time you want to plan a date with Xandria, call her first." Xander suggested firmly.
"And also when using the automatic gate, don't be too alarmed, it doesn't bite."
Anxi's gaze widened at his statement, like her pride demeanor had crashed with just that statement of his.
How...how did he….how did he know??
"W...what?"
Xander grabbed his laptop with ease from the glass table, placing it on his lap, only to press a few keypads and the blank television screen on the wall suddenly had Anxi's act earlier being displayed.
Anxi couldn't have felt less embarrassed watching her back off like someone running from a serious predicament with only her bag as a source of weapon.
Her cheeks heated up in embarrassment she couldn't even glance at her boss.
"I….I didn't know it was automatic, it's my first time coming across such gates so I involuntarily panicked." She explained.
Xander couldn't have thought of her expression to be more cute right now!
What's even more cute was walking into his den without even realizing she'd be trapped with him.
He had pressured Xandria to go investigate the lady with Damian and force the truth out of her, just thinking about the issue made him glance at Anxi.
She's perfectly fine; he doubts she even touched the drink. They had gone through the CCTV cameras and it was completely blank.
More reasons why he needs to find out exactly what happened that night.
She was uncomfortable, he made her uncomfortable and the only thing on his mind was kissing her again and telling her not to feel insecure in his presence.
Meanwhile Anxi found herself in a hot spot, alone in such a big house with her hot celestial boss, she couldn't understand why being in his presence made her so anxious, she's forgetting something, something must have happened to cause her to act like this.
After Xandria was willing to bring her back home, she couldn't remember what happened after, was it possible her boss came and saw her in her drunken state?
Is it because she feels embarrassed he saw her drunk? She couldn't remember and it left her utterly frustrated.
"Uhm sir." She turned to look at him while Xander met her gaze, she got to her feet, unable to bear the uneasiness she felt at the depth of her.
He was doing things to her without even touching or even glancing her way, it was just too much!
"I'll…. I'll take my leave now, extend my apologies to Xandria but I can't wait anymore."
Without waiting to hear his response, she turned around to leave but didn't expect a certain someone to grab her hand, equally backing her against the wall and she gasped in shock while meeting his ink-black eyes, staring wide-eyed at him, unable to grasp how he got to her so fast!
"You're leaving?" He questioned which sent her heart on a meter race, she instantly averted her gaze, wanting to free herself but he trapped her against the wall making her gasp at his sudden display, it wasn't harsh but it was enough to send her inside twisting uncomfortably.
"Did you really forget or are you trying to mess with me?" He questioned being unable to deal with her constant cluelessness, it had bothered the hell out of him through the day, he can't be suffering with his feelings while she acts like nothing happened.
"F_forget what?"
"You really don't remember what happened the night you got drunk?"
Anxi met his gaze like she just heard a breaking news, so she was right! He indeed showed up at the bar and to be honest, she still doesn't remember exactly what happened, what did she do?
"What happened, I_I only remember Xandria requesting to take me home, that...that's it."
"You don't remember what happened after that?"
Anxi shook her head as her nervousness was starting to make itself obvious on her face, did...did she do something wrong?
"Did I_ do something wrong?"
Anxi's hands grabbed on to the hem of her dress as she nibbled on her bottom lip, she couldn't ignore the constant ringing in her ears and her brain signaling trouble, big bad trouble as those fathomless dark eyes stared straight at her, hot and intense.
She watched his gaze land on her nibbled lips and he suddenly uttered in a low deep tone.
"Why don't you let me show you instead, I'm not a man of words."
Before Anxi could reply or even protest, he bent down to steal her fuchsia lips while her mind instantly went on a terminal shutdown.
