Bingwen crawled off Mei Deng first, but Da-Xia still clung onto him, keeping him pinned to the floor. "Bàba, did you bring back anything sweet for me?" She asked with glistening eyes.

Before Mei Deng could reply, someone emerged from inside and with folded hands retorted in a flat tone. "Sweets? Ask him if he managed to bring back the Ox first!"

The young doctor flinched and nervously scratched the side of his neck. He stood up swiftly, using one hand to lift Da-Xia, earning a light giggle from her.

"Nuan, how did you find out about the Ox so soon?" He sheepishly asked, walking towards the woman dressed in light green robes, holding a wooden serving spoon in her right hand.

"Bà, you'll never believe it! The Ox came home by itself! I was busy playing outside, when it came through the gates, carrying all the potatoes!" Bingwen excitedly announced, reaching to take Da-Xia off Mei Deng's hands.
