Chapter 48: HATERS AND RIVALS (PART 2)

"Are you sure about that?" Nynna's voice came once again from behind Aia who had gone back to hitting her training dummy.

"You wouldn't want to annoy a goddess on your very first day in the colosseum now, will you?" The female knight asked, failing to keep the anger she felt out of her voice.

"Think through my proposal again. I just want us to have a spar. It should benefit both of us in the end." Nynna proposed again.

"No. I train alone." Aia replied with her back still facing her audience and this annoyed Nynna (who had quite the temper) more than the actual rejection did.

"Look at me when you address me!" Nynna ordered through clenched teeth and whirled Aia around in one fluid motion.

The female Samurai spun on her heels and flung her elbow straight for Nynna's face using the momentum from the spin to add more force to her attack.

Nynna saw the elbow spin aiming straight for the side of her head and quickly lifted her arm to shield the side of her face.

Bam!

The elbow connected with Nynna's block followed by a sound like that which is produced by two crashing stones.

At that same moment, Nynna grabbed the back of Aia's head with her free arm and pulled it towards her own with mad strength as she prepared to ram her head into the Samurai's face.

'let's see just how tough that head really is' Nynna thought as she shot her forehead towards the girl's face, only for her head to be stopped by the girl's palm which grabbed Nynna's face with a strength that surprised the assassin.

With a grunt, Aia pushed the knight Assasin back with her hand that was still covering her opponent's face and her other hand that was still locked by Nynna in a death grip from the very moment it had connected with the knight's elbow.

Nynna, whose arms were also occupied, one still gripping the Samurai's head while the other held on to her elbow found herself being pushed back easily by the cute Samurai assassin.

"No, you don't!" Nynna shouted and then dug her feet into the ground so that they wouldn't slide across the floor like it currently was from the girl's push. Nynna knew though that, that move alone wasn't going to be enough to stop the incredibly strong girl, so she risked a dangerous move that if the girl saw through and evaded would spell her defeat.

In one smooth movement, Nynna let go of Aia's elbow and head at the same time just as she tangled her right leg with Aia's left one in a trip and with a grunt of strength, gave the samurai a heavy shove that threw her off balance completely and into the air.

Aia felt her center of gravity reduced as she got tripped by her tricky opponent, but she did not let this deter her as she felt her herself start to fall. Before she could be thrown completely away from her opponent though, Aia used her reduced gravitational pull to her advantage and delivered a stunning jump kick with both legs to Nynna's stomach which sent the Knight crashing away in the other direction.

Both assassins jumped to their feet again, ignoring the pain they felt as they prepared to jump at each other once more.

Nynna pulled out a small dagger from the side of her boot just as Aia stamped her right foot twice in succession and in the full glare of Nynna, two sharp blades slid out of the back and front of the Samurai's boot.

Grrr...

Both fighters growled lowly in their throats, then as if on a signal, they dashed at each other with ready weapons eager to taste blood.

"Just what is going on here?" A terrifying voice full of authority carried across to the assassins just as they got within range of attack and both of them froze in their steps at once.

Aia's frontal blade was just an inch from the side of Nynna's head whiles the latter's dagger was only a hair from Aia's throat.

"Would you look at that? " The officiator said with a chuckle as he saw the two assassin's positions.

"It's not even the second day and you've already met your rival" The man continued.

"Then again, you two are so alike in deed and occupation so I guess this is a match made in Asgard" the Officiator burst into uncontrolled giggles at this point.

"There, there... I can't afford to lose anyone of you now, can I?" The Officiator asked rhetorically as he made his way to the two women who were still in their previous positions, staring daggers at each other.

"At ease, both of you." The Officiator ordered in a gentle tone and the two assassins obeyed.

"There. Now we're all civilized people. At least until you, two find yourselves in the arena. Even though I am sure there's a story behind what I just chanced upon just now, I do not need to hear it. If I'm being honest, I'm glad the two of you have started your rivalry so soon. It's very good for business and I honestly would love to see which among you is the best." The officiator announced.

"Still, I would prefer you keep out of each other's way until you get to meet in the arena. A clash between two gods will sell very well and I don't want to lose the opportunity. I'll be very angry if any of you make me lose the Chance, so beware!" The officiator warned them seriously before going back to his jovial tone again.

"I can tell none of you have anything to say so I guess you're dismissed." The man said casually and immediately, Nynna sheathed her dagger and turned to leave.

"Oh, Aia," Nynna called when she got to the doorway leading out of the training room and Aia stiffened as she heard her name.

"Nice sparring with you. I hope we get to meet again, Assasin." The female knight revealed with a smirk before slinking out of the training room. Leaving behind a silent Aia and an overly excited Officiator who just couldn't wait to see the two goddesses battle it out on the sandy floor of the arena.
