Chapter 117: 'SOS'

"This is Roma City police station, what's your emergency?"

"My husband has the corpse of a man in our bed."

Helen's eyes that were focused on the ground widened after she heard what the woman on the other end of the line said. 'She can't be talking about...'

"His name is Dave Adams and I'm his wife, Sharon Adams." 

Helen confirmed her suspicion when the woman told the officers her address. 'She's the wife of that fat drunkard.' She tightly gripped the metal railing of her prison cell. 'That idiot, how could he allow his wife to call the police?'

Sharon rubbed her aching chest to calm her anxious breathing as she listened to what the police officer was saying. "Please remain calm, Mrs. Adams, we'll be there soon."

Helen's red eyes watched the swift movements of the officers as they gathered their weapons. 'I need to get out of here.'
