Menka walk inside the kitchen to prepare dinner but was surprised seeing Rivati doing the cooking
It is unusual of Rivati to cook for the family or even do any house chores. She wonders what could have prompt her to cook
"Why are you standing there looking at me like a moron, what are you so surprised of... Can't I cook in my husband house again?" Rivati blurts out sarcastically
"I'm only surprised because this is my first time seeing you cook for the family, you only cook on your birthday and today isn't your birthday.... Tell me are you celebrating any occasion" menka cuts in and Rivati smirk
"You will soon find out the occasion menka... Why don't you do me a favor, go and set the table and stop trying to gossip around" Rivati chip in impolitely
Menka breaths out, a little bit hurt, though she is older than Rivati, she won't stop speaking to her with so much disrespect. She turn to leave but glance at Rivati one more time before walking out from the kitchen. She thought maybe Rivati decided to change and start helping out in the house chores
"Oh! My goodness I can't believe am cutting this onion and cooking for everyone" Rivati mumble irritated as she slice the onion
"Well, I am only cooking to celebrate my victory because today will be a happy day for me. Once Kumar comes back the drama will begin.... I can't wait to watch with excitement" she add with a smile
"What are you doing mother?" Prachi ask in shock standing on the door way but took a step forward inside the kitchen
"Wait a minute mother, are you actually cooking for the family? Is this really you or someone else?" She ask still in shock. Doing any house chores is the least her mother could do, she is just so stupefied seeing her in the kitchen
"Just stop talking rubbish prachi, do you think I will cook for everyone without any reason at all... She pause and stare at space
We are going to celebrate our victory very soon. This food that I am cooking is to celebrate Lakshimi's dream being shattered. They will surely enjoy this food but they will vomit it with tears. I wonder what their situation will be when your father decide to marry Lakshimi off" she add with a grin which prachi return with a smile

In less than thirty minutes Rivati was done cooking and the table was set. Menka called Lakshimi downstairs for dinner, Lakshimi was surprised learning that Rivati prepared the dinner... It just unbelievable to her but at the same time she is happy that Rivati take up the responsibility so her mother could rest a bit
Mr Kumar join them after he has freshen up
"Here... eat a lot my husband, I made the food myself and am sure you are going to enjoy it" Rivati beam as she serve him his meal. He was not left out from being surprised that Rivati prepared food for everyone
"You all should eat up before the food gets cold" she add referring to menka and Lakshimi who glance at themselves
"Do you think I poisoned the food, come on menka... How can I poison the food I made for my family with so much love" Rivati chip in with a fake smile
"What are you still waiting for, you should start eating already, you should be happy she helped you out with the cooking" Mr Kumar husky voice sounds which got menka and Lakshimi flinch
Rivati smile as they cut a piece of pasta and put it inside their mouth. Very soon now the drama will begin and she can't wait for it
Rivati stare at her husband who has finish eating then at the door, she is getting impatient already
"I hope you enjoyed the food my husband... ehmmm, Why don't you rest downstairs for some minutes before going up to your room" she stops Mr Kumar who is about leaving the dinning
"I will either rest in my room, bring me a glass of milk" Mr Kumar cuts in and Rivati feel a bit disappointed
Mr Kumar was about going upstairs but Lakshimi's voice stops him
"Father" Lakshimi call and walk up to him, she stare at her mother who give her a sign to go ahead. She gently move to stand in front of him
"Father... I... I passed my exams, my results were excellent. I want you to give me your blessings so I will be able to make you more proud in the future" she mumble out. Rivati roll her eyes
Lakshimi gently bend down and touch her father's feet as she look up to him
"Be bless" Mr Kumar whimpers after some seconds and touch her head though he wasn't looking at her. Lakshimi smile, she couldn't believe she received her father's blessings today
She stands up straight and glance at her mother teary who also has a teary smile on her face
"This is a blessing of sending you off to your husband's house Lakshimi, don't be overjoyed yet because you will still cry out your eyes with tears" Rivati mind said with a smirk
"Thank you father, I promise that I will make you so much proud in the nearest future.... I will put more effort in my studies and I won't disappoint you" Lakshimi chip in still smiling
Mr Kumar just glance at her about walking upstairs but the ringing of the door bell stops him as everyone direct their eyes at the door
"Go check who is at the door" he referred to menka
"Don't worry menka, I will open the door" Rivati cuts in and glance at prachi with a grin, prachi nods her head with a smirk on the face
She walk to the big door and draw it open
"Namaste" she greets the group of women who put their palms together in respect to her greeting
"I hope you are ready?" She ask and they all nods with smirk on their faces as Rivati smile
"Who is at the door Rivati?" Mr Kumar ask
"Ehmm... Is the village women" she replied
"Come on in" she ushers the women in. Menka wonders what the village women wants in their house this hour of the day
"Namaste Mr Kumar" the women's leader greets with others and Mr Kumar returns the greeting
"What brings you all to my house.... I hope there is no problem?" He ask as he can see the angry and disappointed look on the women face
"There is a problem Mr Kumar and a very big one" the women's leader cuts in and Mr Kumar was confused
The village women has never bring complaint about his family before, and what could the problem be. His family has never done anything that will prompt the interference of the village women. His family is one of the responsible and decent family in the village and everyone knows that
"What sort of problem if I may ask, you all know my family too well and there is no way any of them can cause trouble in the village"
"Is that so Mr Kumar, you trust your family so much.... We respect you a lot that's why we decided to speak with you first before letting the village council know about it
This is a matter that concerns women that's why we haven't speak about it to the council. Our young girls character and manners are at risk because of your family"
"Please, I don't mean to disrespect you women but I can't stand it whenever anyone tries to speak ill of my family" Mr Kumar cuts in menka glance at Lakshimi who also seems confused of what the women's leader is trying to say
"If your daughters wants to live a dirty life, they should live it among themselves and don't try to get our daughters involve" the women leader grime
"Go straight to the point Savita... What are you trying to insinuate by vomiting such words from your mouth" Mr Kumar tries not to lose his tamper
"Your elder daughter has brought shame to the young girls in this entire village because of her actions, I wonder what the neighbouring village will be thinking of us, they will think we are not raising our daughter's well" the women leader grime and Lakshimi wide her eyes in shock as she glance at her mother who is also confused, she is wondering what she done to bring shame to the village. Mr Kumar glance at her as her heart was beating fast
"What do you mean?" His voice seems a bit cold
"Just watch this video, then you will understand what we mean" the women leader replied as she hand her phone to Mr Kumar
"She should have kept the video to her self than showing it in the female group chat knowing fully well that our daughter's are also participants of the group
That video is sure to corrupt the manners of our daughters and not only that, our neighbouring village women also saw the video and now they will start questioning the way we raise our daughters and I am afraid that our daughters might not be able to marry into a responsible home because of what your daughter did" she add fuming up
Kumar's mind was not on what she is saying but at the video he is watching, his both eyes were wide in shock as he watch the video of Lakshimi and Abhijit in disbelief and disappointment
The video was the moment Abhijit hug and kiss Lakshimi's forehead. Mr Kumar face was already burning in anger as he watch the video
His heart was rising and falling in anger as he glare at Lakshimi with a cold look which got Lakshimi gulp down nothing in fear. She wonder what the content of the video is that could get his father so much angry
"You always boast about your family decency, no one would have thought that your daughter could be this shameless to flirt around with a guy" the women leaders chip in and menka wide her eyes in shock as she glance at Lakshimi whose heart is already beating fast. Rivati stare at prachi as they both held a smirk on their face
"You know what Mr Kumar you should hide your face in shame because it is now obvious that you are incapable of giving your children a good ....."
"Enough!" Mr Kumar bark in so much anger which got everyone startled. Rivati walk up to him after a minute silent of Kumar trying to digest his anger and collect the phone, she gasp in shock pretending as if she knows nothing about the video, she turn to Lakshimi with anger on her face
"You shameless girl, I can't believe you are messing around with a guy pretending that you are studying. This is all menka fault for allowing to go to a mixed school, I am sure you got that attitude from there. You have succeeded in bringing shame upon our family" Rivati snap
Menka who is already getting impatient with the accusations about her daughter walk to Rivati and take the phone from her
"Here watch the shameless act of your daughter, she has no shame at all" Rivati add and hand the phone to her
Menka wasn't left out as she was shocked at what She saw, she doesn't want to believe that this is her daughter in this video. She stare at Lakshimi in so much disappointment. Lakshimi who was scared at what was going on and the content of the video they are talking about move towards her mother to take a look at the video
Her eyes nearly pop out as her breath caught in shock. She stare up at her mother's disappointed face with tears in her eyes. She wonders who took the video and how it got to the village women because it is not impossible for anyone to find out about the secret place they do meet
It is just happening like a video to her, she has never expected her family to find out about Abhijit and her like this, she stare at her father's angry and disappointed face
Her father has started to have a little faith and trust in her but now he will be so disappointed in her and she is afraid of what the outcome will be
"I'm glad you all have seen for yourselves how shameless your daughter is, this type of a girl don't supposed to be seen around our community. She should be thrown out of here before she corrupt all our young daughters" the village women leader speaks up. Lakshimi wide her eyes in shock as she took a quick glance at the women leader
"You should try and teach your children some manners Mr Kumar, it is clear they have no manners at all" she add
"I said enough! This matter concerns my family and should be handled by me" Mr Kumar hollers
"We would have agreed with you on that Mr Kumar if this video didn't come to us. You need to punish your daughter for such a shameless act in the right way
As we all know, any girl who is found in such act will be married off immediately for the safety of our young daughters and that will be to a man who is not from this village" the women leader cuts in. Lakshimi breath cease at once as more tears falls down her cheeks, she don't want to believe that this is how her dreams will be ruined and shattered
"She is right, Lakshimi has brought shame to this family. If we delay any longer and this news spreads... Am afraid to say no one will ever want to marry her and not only her but my precious daughter. I don't want to ruin my daughter's future because of one shameless thing" Rivati chip in
Lakshimi heart was beating so fast as they are all waiting to hear from Kumar who was still boiling in anger. He turn to face Lakshimi as she brings down her face in shame... A while ago she promised her father that she is going to make him proud but instead of making him proud she tarnished his pride and make fun of his upbringing
Who could have wanted to disgrace her so much like this and secretly follow her to the warehouse just to take this video. Who ever it is, he or she has managed to ruin her life. She don't remember having an enemy who will want to do such a thing to her, she would have been more careful the day she went and meet Abhijit in that warehouse
Mr Kumar has never felt such embarrassed in his life before, he has never being questioned about the way he raised his daughters
This is so much insult to his pride and reputation. He tried raising his hand on Lakshimi but he controlled himself, he is boiling in so much anger
"You disgraceful daughter, how dare you give people the chance to make mockery of my family's decency
I was the one that made the mistake of allowing you to go to school because I can see that too much of knowledge has made you forget your manners and brought shame to our family... I will never forgive you for this" his husky voice grime as more tears flows down Lakshimi's cheek. He turn to the village women"
"I am sorry for the embarrassment my daughter caused to this village and I am willing to take responsibility... He pause for a while before speaking up
Lakshimi will no longer go to college and I will make sure she is married off Immediately. Just promise me this video won't spread out" he hollers. Lakshimi gasp in shock, as she wide her eyes and wide her mouth in shock
She can feel what his father said resounding in her head, more tears flows down her cheeks. She can't believe her dreams and life has been ruined not only that but she won't be able to be with the person she loves. How could her fate be so bitter like this. Her life is meaningless without Abhijit
"We are grateful to your decision Mr Kumar and we are sorry for our actions, you should understand that we are only trying to protect the future of our children and we promise not to let this video spread" the women leader said politely as she place her palms together and Mr Kumar did the same as well as Rivati
"We will get going now" she add and stare smirking at Rivati who gives her a thumbs up. They all walk out, Rivati glance at prachi as they both grin together in victory
"I... I'm... sorry father" Lakshimi mumble. Menka was still lost in shock, she couldn't believe Lakshimi would do such a thing. Rivati roll her eyes, she knows that Lakshimi is just wasting her saliva because there is no way Mr Kumar would forgive her after dragging his family name to the mud
Mr Kumar ignores her and walk out, he needs to stop seeing her face or he might regret what he will do to her... His angers are still boiling up. He stops at the staircase but didn't turn
"Once you get married, I don't ever want to see your face ever again and don't ever step foot in this house" he voice out. Menka quickly glance at him, though her daughter did something shameful but she can't bear to be separated from her
The decision of getting Lakshimi married off hurt her heart and now she is prevented from coming to visit them after marriage. Lakshimi couldn't control her tears, she felt her whole world falling apart. Her dreams as well as her life has been ruined. Who ever did this to her is surely heartless, she needs to find out who the person is but where will she even start
"You are always proud of your daughter menka but look at the shame she brought to this family. So disgusting" Rivati spat and walk away with prachi
"You finally got what you want mother, menka and Lakshimi life are both ruined, I can imagine their pain now" prachi mumble in grin and Rivati smile
"Am sure your father is going to marry her off to a family who will make her life more miserable" Rivati cuts in
Lakshimi slowly walk up to her mother, she can feel how heartbroken she is... She ruined the trust her mother had in her
"I'm sorry mother, am so sorry" she whimpers in tears, her mother not left out as she allowed the tears to flow down freely
"How could you Lakshimi, how could yo do this to us... Tell me is not true, I will believe you just tell me is not true... Speak up already" menka cried out shaking Lakshimi's body violently
"Why won't you say something, tell me!!" She yell and squat as more tears race down her cheeks, Lakshimi couldn't control hers either
"I'm sorry mother" she mumble. Menka glare at her as she stands up and wipe her tears and grip lakshmi's arm
"Why did you hide such a thing from me Lakshimi, you have never kept secret from me... Why, why didn't you tell me about this. Am I now a stranger to you" menka snap
"I was planning to tell you mother, believe me... I never knew things will turn out this way"
"This is not a child I raised, the child I raised can never flirt with a man... Am so disappointed in you Lakshimi"
"Believe me mother, I am not doing anything bad with him... He has never touched me mother, please believe me"
"Do you want me to believe you after what I saw on the video.... You have ruined my trust in you Lakshimi, am totally disappointed in you
See what you actions has caused, you have ruined your life .... Your father is never going to change his mind. You have ruined your dreams so as my dreams for you
You should have told me that this is the kind of life you want, then I shouldn't have spend money training you in school all these years" menka snap and try to walk away but Lakshimi's voice stop her
"His name is Abhijit mother, I met him when I was young and we started as friend. He is a very good, kind and generous person and a decent guy... We keep our relationship secret because am afraid no one is going to accept it
I love him so much mother, I don't want to be separated from him mother. I can't spend the rest of my life with any other person accept him... Please mother you need to do something to stop father from marrying me off... I can't live without Abhijit"
"You must be out of your mind Lakshimi, here I am worrying about you dreams which has been ruined and you are busy talking about a boy
What has come over you Lakshimi, I can't believe you are the daughter I raise. Do you think I want your father to marry you off but there is no way he will ever change his decision, you should know better" she cuts in and walk out in anger
Lakshimi squat down as she pour out her heart with tears. She needs to do something, she can't allow her father marry her off... She can't live without Abhijit
What has she done to deserve this, just when she thought everything is working out fine and now everything is ruined. Even her own mother is disappointed in her
She needs to let Abhijit know about what is happening, she won't let anyone separate her from Abhijit. She stands up and rush to her room. Her heart is heavy, she also need a place to cry out

The following day ...
"What brings you to my abode Mr Kumar. Are you here to pay up my money or have you finally agreed to the deal?" Abhishek ask as he puff out a huge smoke
"I've thought about it clearly... It was a hard decision to make but I have no choice anyways
I don't think I will ever save up to 1.5 million to pay my debt so I've decided to agree to the deal" Mr Kumar replied and Abhishek let out a smirk
"You made the right decision because am sure you know who I am, I never go back on my words. Weather you give out your daughter willingly to me or not, I will still marry her if I want to besides you should be happy that we are going to be in laws"
"Please promise me that you will take care of my daughter" Mr Kumar mutter out and Abhishek smirk
"She is going to be my wife, every husband takes care of their wife... Don't they?"
"I will like to meet my future bride before the wedding. I want to know if she is worth taking care of" Abhishek add as he puff out more smoke from his cigarette
"I will make the arrangements and I will tell you once the date of the wedding is set"
"No need of setting the wedding date, I will come see her by the end of this week and we will get married next week" Abhishek cuts in
"As you wish" Mr Kumar mumble. He wonders if he is doing the right thing marrying Lakshimi off to Abhishek but this is the punishment she deserves
Abhishek is someone who marries to fulfil his sexual desire and not to care or love
