Chapter 10: Episode 9. Test of Darkside
Morning as usual, I wake up at 4:20 AM, go take the shower and then have a breakfast.
This time it slightly different, my brother was start being busy like before. I didn't see him at home. Not surprisingly, he is a vice mayor of this city.
I opened the fridge to get eggs and vegetables. Breakfast with only sunny side and rice is enough for me.
Even though I don't try to go at morning, but because there's nothing to do here. I chose to leave early in the morning.
At 5:56 AM, I was already in the teacher's room. I saw Mr. Xander and Mr. Samuel were already there. What make them come this early?
Those who saw my arrival waved their hands.
"Good morning Mr. Rasyid" They both greeted me
"Why are you up so early?"
"Did you already forget it?!" Samuel stomped the table and shouted in disbelief. "Soon, there will be test for teacher. All teachers from first years to third years will be tested at arena to fight each other!" He added.
"The test will be calculated on a team system. All the teachers of the physical 1st year are on one team. You understand what I mean, don't you?" Xander explain more detail what Samuel said.
I nodded understand.
I don't know if something like this exists. But he says we will be fight other teacher from another years.
"Do you mean, we fight in the arena, right?" I tried to confirm my thoughts.
"Yes it's true. It will be a tough match. Especially when we have to deal with magic classes. They always have surprises when they fight, I always lose because of that" Xander remembering his experience.
"I can easily fight them because my weapons are ranged type. The problem is only the 3rd years teachers. They are very strong!" Even the fighting maniac like Samuel still praised the 3rd years teacher's prowess.

Someone open the door and get in, Erika and Tasya also arrive so early in the morning. 'Wow is it that serious? Why am I the only one who doesn't know.'
"Hwaaaaaaahh!!!! The teacher test is next week!!!" Tasya cried like a spoiled baby. "Am I going to fail?! I heard that magic class teachers are strong and scary. Even there are 2nd and 3rd years teachers"
She hasn't fight yet, but she's already down.
"Calm down Tasya! This test will be in group. Even though there is only one 1st years physical teacher who enters the semi-finals, we will be safe!"
That means there are only 4 groups that can pass and 2 of them will fail. But there is also the possibility that in the semi-finals, the same team will face one another.
"If we are on the same team and will face off. We have to choose one of our teams to go in next stage without fight." Erika knows what i thought and explain it.
Erika close her face to mine.
"I hope you won't try to let lose yourself. This is very important." She whispers to me.
"I don't know.... I was just following the situation"
"It's up to you, as long as we don't get into 5th or 6th place, I'll forgive you"
An agreement was made.
I do not know what to do. From my judgment, if I predict their abilities is like this.
Tasya<Samuel<Xander<Erika.
If i am not included myself, Erika will be the strongest in them. With the match back then, they would consider me under Samuel for now.
"I can only hope Xander and Erika don't get a strong opponent as soon the test start!" Tasya prayed.
"You better practice too!" Erika hit lightly Tasya's head.
"Ouch ouch ouch! All right!" She was crying like a baby again.

After school, I met Sophia and went to her house to practice as usual. When I got home I got a notification from my brother.

I really don't want to deal with that woman anymore. But because my brother asked me, i must come.
Inside the mayor's office. A 59-year-old granny stands facing the curtain wall and looking at the scenery of Ningru City from behind it.
"Long time no see, Rasyid." the old lady greeted me without turning her body.
I remained standing still as usual. She wants me to do something.
"I heard there's a teacher test at your school next week." She finally returned to her desk and took out a document.
She opened it and there were 4 photos of people. I know their faces but don't know their names. They are 3rd years magic teachers.
"You know what that means, right? They have a horrible plan to overthrow my position. I heard they always win at the teacher test. If they win again this time, then they will gain trust of people. They will gather the peoples and force me to fall from my position." I listened to Nova's wishes.
"Your mission this time.... Put that class in 6th place. Destroy their self-esteem!" This old lady ambition is so great till she forgets her age.
"i am sorry, but I can't" I refused it.
"Forgive me... I forgot, you're also a teacher at there, right? Your career will be in danger if you get caught"

"Then?"
"At least tell me why you still insist on asking me. You could easily bribe the other teachers, right?"
"Other teachers aren't like you, they'll betray me if they get caught. And... you haven't shown your true power to your friends either....right? Monsters..."

"I accept it." I immediately left Nova who was still in the office and met my brother who was waiting at the door.

My day as an executor will return. Luckily this time it wasn't to take someone lives.
I have to solve all my problems at school this week. Moka, Stevent, and Hakam's faces crossed in my mind. The three of them had unfinished business. Especially Moka, I made her angry that time.
About Gita, I can ignore him. But I can't be careless about it. Gita looks like the class clown but he seems to have bigger problems than the three of them.
It's just a matter of whether I hold myself back or not during the test. I'll think about it later, now enjoy it.
