Joyce tapped her toes, huffed before sighing. This cycle was repeated continuously as she waited for him to wake up.

By his profession, she expected him to know what to do, so she did nothing.

Mr Murphy surely knew how to take his time waking up. Either it was the drug that had been given to him, or he was catching up on his sleep.

She was about to recite another prayer in her mind when he finally twitched.

He frowned, winced actually before his hand, went up and held his forehead. "Fuck."

Lord have mercy. If a headache was making him curse, what was going to do when he found out that he had been kidnapped?

He sat up and she kept her eyes trained on him. Adrian rubbed his head before gripping his hair like he was in pain.

Well, now that she remembered, they had thrown him face forward in the basement. So of course, it might be that his skull had suffered a crack or two.
