Chapter 263: A midnight heart to heart - I

There were nights when Joyce would not be able to fall asleep, and this one turned out to be that one.

No matter how much she tried, sleeping was just something that did not come to her. She had tried drinking chamomile tea, meditated for half an hour, even tried counting to eight hundred and sixty sheeps, but nothing had resulted in her falling asleep.

All she wanted was to be in his arms, but he was in the arms of another country.

She sighed before setting up on the sofa. She held her hand in her hands before wondering what she could do to get a wink of sleep.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing came to her mind.

Joyce stood up and walked out of her room. Only dim ceiling lights were on, just kept in case someone had to go anywhere which rarely happened in this house.
