Chapter 2: 1. Divergent Household Detergent: A Different Kind of Parody, Chapter1

I remembered nothing. I felt like the stupidest person on earth. Like I had forgotten a great deal of important things. I woke up in the nurse’s office, lying on an incredibly uncomfortable bed and a piercing headache. There was a girl sitting next to the bed. A girl I didn’t know. Or maybe I just didn’t remember.

“Wha…” I tried to speak. But it was hard to speak. My mouth felt like it was on fire. After several glasses of water I tried it again.

“What happened?” I asked.

“You came crashing through the window of my classroom. Nobody knew what to do so they asked me to bring you to the nurse’s office,” the girl answered.

“Through the window you say?” I repeated and tried to remember. I remembered standing in that strange classroom with that annoyingly bright light. There was Mr. Winterbottom, the obnoxious chemistry teacher and there was Principal Ciccone, giving me that stern look through her square-shaped glasses. But there was also this girl, the girl that was sitting next to me now.

“Who are you?” I dared to ask.

“Sorry, I didn’t introduce myself. My name is Yuki, I think we are in different classes. You must be a student of this school, since you are wearing the same school uniform and I think I remember seeing you here at school last year. What is your name?” she said.

“I…don’t remember,” was all I could say. I honestly couldn’t remember my own name.

“Okay, something terrible must have happened to you. Just now I heard rumors that students saw a giant rainbow-colored robot on the rooftop. Isn’t that crazy?” Yuki pointed out.

“I can’t remember a thing. Well, I remember Mr. Winterbottom and Principal Ciccone and attending this school but I have no idea what happened to me. And I most certainly don’t remember any giant robot, let alone a rainbow colored one” I said, now somewhat angry with myself. Angry for forgetting seemingly important information.

“You should probably better rest, maybe your memories will come back later,” Yuki said and was preparing to leave.

“Really? Just like that? I somehow cannot imagine that happening,” I protested and in that moment the door swung open and another person entered the room. This person however I immediately remembered.

“Cassandra,” I gasped.

“How is this possible,” she said. There were tears in her eyes for some reason.

“I think I better leave now, I am getting hungry” Yuki remarked and was slowly walking towards the door. Cassandra however stopped her.

“No, I have to thank you,” she said.

“Me? Why? I didn’t do anything, really. I was just told to bring him here, so I did that,” Yuki answered, slightly confused.

“Oh, I thought you were the one who brought him back to his former self,” Cassandra then said.

“I have no idea what you are talking about,” was all Yuki could say.

“Never mind then,” Cassandra said and looked at me again. Yuki however seemed somewhat intrigued by the situation and didn’t leave at all.

Well, there you have it. The young master having lost all his memories of his time as the Chrome-shelled Divinity couldn’t quite comprehend the situation he found himself in. But Cassandra couldn’t either. His powers were somehow stripped from him and he had no clue as to why and how it happened. He couldn’t even remember the fact that he once possessed those powers. Thankfully Cassandra was there to aid him.

“Can you imagine how hard it was for us? You were just gone. Becoming this all powerful entity. I mean no one really liked you, but once you were gone, we realized that we actually missed you. You possessed all the knowledge and knew the solutions to all the mysteries of life and all the secrets of the universe but you couldn’t tell us because our brains wouldn’t have been able to process the information anyway. So you just left. None of us knew where you went. And now you decided to finally show up? What the hell? Why now? Seriously, what the hell?” Cassandra blurted out. It was all too familiar. Still I didn’t know how to answer. In that moment yet another person entered the room. His face was hidden behind a Japanese Noh mask, that portrayed the face of a fox.

“Also we’re glad to have you back,” he said.

“Yeah, that too,” Cassandra added.

“Well, I missed you too. But I have really no idea what happened to me. And I am actually not very keen on finding out. I just wanna go home,” I said and got out of the bed. Still not very steady on my feet however, I almost fell over.

“I think I better leave before this turns into a sitcom,” Yuki said and once again prepared to leave the room.

“You are free to leave anytime,” Shadowfox said, turning his head in her direction. I could clearly see the confusion in her face. His cryptic way of speaking was not for everyone.

“I have however one question. You don’t happen to know anything about the Chrome-Shelled Divinity?” he then asked. The confusion visibly grew. Slowly she shook her head.

“No idea,” she replied.

“It must have been someone else then. There is only one way to remove the Divinity’s powers. With a weapon called the Divine Uninstaller,” Shadowfox continued.

“And here we go again,” I sighed.

And right at that moment, the headmistress Mrs. Ciccone, entered the infirmary, a somewhat concerned look covering her face. In her right hand she held a bottle that appeared to be containing a detergent. It was an unlikely sight, as a head teacher wouldn’t normally perform such lowly tasks as cleaning duties.
