Chapter 48: A bloody night

He climbed down the bed and made to go open the door but Ambrosia caught his wrist. She was awake and her eyes were darkened as she fixed her gaze on the door.

"They will kill you if you go out there. They don't mean good." She doesn't seemed drunk as she warned him.

She had an urge to go out and attack the men outside but what good would it do? It was all in her memory and those men were killed by her in the past.

In reality, she had come into that same room with a different man. A human who she just wanted to have fun with and kill afterwards, but the vampire hunters, who were knocking on the door, came in and attacked, killing the human themselves while she in turn, killed the men.

If she let them in or Darren go to open the door, they would kill him as what happened then would have to happen again.

She stretched her hand towards him. "Let's go back."
