Chapter 13: A NEW LIFE
The drive to the Lu mansion was a busy one, Kamlyn just sat quietly clinging on to Mr yang's arm while he worked and made some business calls, Mrs yang sat beside kamlyn helping Mr yang with the tablet work while he continues with his call. The Lu mansion was just a 30 minutes drive away since it was on the outskirts of the city. "kamy dear you have to behave in your stay with the Lu's okay, not because they are you aunt and uncle. You have to be well-behaved and don't act spoiled. One more thing make sure you don't skip school, I know Elina will gladly Fall for your tricks and spoil you, but as the good girl you are don't skip school okay." Mrs yang said to Kamlyn informing her about the do's and don't's. "Mrs Lin will be coming over From time to time to check you up as you will be comfortable with her, I have already sent her contact information to your aunt and your principal's too." Mrs yang continued with her eyes still on the tablet tapping busily. "Mom! not my principal's number." She grumbled with a pout on her lips. Making Mrs yang to turn her attention to her. "I won't hear a word from you, so quit it." Mrs yang replied before returning back to her work. It was busily quite until they arrived at the Lu mansion.
The horn of the car was loud enough to alert Mrs Lu who was anxiously waiting. Immediately she heard the horn, she knew fully well who it was as it was already up to 4 when she last checked the time. She quickly rushed out of the mansion, arriving to see the yang's already driving in. She walked up to receive them with a joyful smile on her face. "Welcome darling, how are you you guys?." Mrs Lu greeted with a hug and a cheek to cheek kiss to Mrs yang and a hand Shake to Mr Lu. "We are doing good sweetheart and how are you?" Mrs yang replied reciprocating the concern. "We are all good dear, Oh Louis is not home yet he had an important meeting with president Tang so he is still busy at the office." Mrs Lu explained seeing Mr yang questioning gaze. "Okay, that's alright, do well to send my regards when he is back." Mr yang said with a smile at Mrs Lu. "I sure will, kamy dear come give aunty a hug" Mrs Lu replied to Mr yang when her gaze caught sight of kamlyn, moving her hands in a hugging gesture, she gently pulled kamlyn into her embrace hugging her tightly. "I miss you too aunt." Kamlyn replied returning the hug with an excited smile. "How are you dear, I heard you were feeling unwell recently are you okay now?" Mrs Lu inquired in a concern tone. "I am okay Aunt you don't have to worry." Kamlyn replied with a wide smile. "I am so excited dear, I can't wait for my sons to meet you." Mrs Lu said with excitement evident in her voice. "Calm down Elina, You better return our daughter back to us when we are back." Mrs yang joked making Mrs Lu to frown sadly. "Come on just go enjoy yourself, you can even spend some time there for a mini vacation or something. Take all the time you want." Mrs Lu replied "Really you will be complaining soon enough." Mrs yang said giving Mrs Lu a warning. "I can't ever complain about my darling princess here, right dear?" Mrs Lu said while directing the other question at kamlyn. "Yes aunt." Kamlyn replied enjoying their joke with each other. "What ever" Mrs yang gave up. " Where is Ethan and Axel we haven't seen them much." Mr yang suddenly asked. "About those two, Ethan is currently at the office with his Dad I have no idea where Axel ran off to. He doesn't even come home some times, sigh that is the reason I am extremely glad for kamlyn's arrival, half a month is enough for me to replenish enough lost strength." Mrs Lu replied to Mr yang with a sigh. "When we are back, I will surely call them over for some lectures." Mr yang said with laugh. "Please do" Mrs Lu replied laughing also. " Okay we will be taking our leave now this already past 5 we are late due to our normal schedule. Princess come give daddy a hug." Mr yang said hugging kamlyn tight before giving her a kiss on her forehead. Mrs yang did the same. "Wait for us okay we will be back soon." Mrs yang said still hugging kamlyn. "Come back soon mom, dad" Kamlyn replied almost teary. pulling away from her Mrs yang saw the tears in her eyes that were threatening to fall. "Come on dear don't cry okay? we will be back before you even know it." Mrs yang comforted "Darling it will be alright okay you won't even miss us much because you will be with your favorite uncle and aunt right. Don't cry princess you will make Dad sad." Mr yang said wiping the tears of her face with his handkerchief.
Staying away from her parents will be hard, They have always been together even the time she had to go abroad to start her high school, they all went together resulting in their relocation. This will be the first time they will be apart this long. She wanted joining them on this trip of theirs but she couldn't since this was a business trip. So she had no choice but to wait for them at Lu mansion which wasn't a bad idea. "Mom, Dad I will miss you." She said with a sob. "We will miss you too sweetheart." Mrs yang replied in a sad tone hugging kamlyn one more time. "We are late princess, take care alright." Mr yang said, patting her on her head.
Walking over to Kamlyn Mrs Lu gently pulled her into her embrace as the girl was already a crying mess. "Don't cry dear, your parents will be back soon okay. Won't you like to have fun with aunt huh. Don't cry okay?" Mrs Lu hurriedly said while continuously rubbing her back in order to calm her down. Not being able to bear seeing the tears of their daughter. Mr and Mrs yang hurriedly got into their car and signaled the driver to go on.
Kamlyn gently waved at the moving car with strands of tears still present in her eyes.
If only she knew that this day will mark the first start of a new life for her. When the car was completely out of sight, she immediately turn towards Mrs Lu and hugged her tightly this time without sobbing but silently. "I know you are going to miss your parents alot, but you have to get used to it because this won't be the first time as they are back now. They have a lot to attend to okay. You should be their strength and not their weekness alright." Kamlyn gently nodded at Mrs Lu words. "Come on be a good girl and come in okay." Mrs Lu said. Kamlyn slowly followed her into the mansion.
Mrs Lu took her straight into the bedroom she arranged for her. Surprised kamlyn let out a gasp. "Aunt it's exactly like my room. How did you do this." kamlyn said making Mrs Lu chuckle. "Dear your nanny came here an hour ago, she did this." Mrs Lu patiently explained. "Wow thanks aunty I love it." Kamlyn said with a smile still looking around unbelievably. "It's okay my love, go take your bath and be ready by 9 for dinner okay." Mrs Lu informed her before taking her leave.
Kamlyn did as instructed. After taking her shower she quickly changed into fresh cloths, she happily lay down on her new bed which was quite similar to her previous one in the yang residence. Knowing by now that her parents will still be on the plane she decided to call them later before dinner. Closing her eyes, she dozed off into the Dreamland.
Ethan and Louis Lu walked into the mansion late at night but just in time for dinner. Ethan just walked upstairs without even acknowledging Mrs Lu. Pulling of his suit and handing it over to Mrs Lu. "Have she arrived yet." Mr Lu asked. " Yes she has, she taking a nap right now I will send the maids to go inform her that dinner is ready and you are back already." Mrs Lu replied. "Okay dear." Mr Lu said.
"And who are you guys talking about.?" Axel who was just coming back from God knows where, asked. "It is not if your business brat. Just go wash up and come down for dinner." Mrs Lu said shunning Axel causing an annoyed frown oh his handsome face. "And one more thing behave." Mrs Lu said calling to his attention again with a stern expression. "Geez!!" Axel just stated before going up to his room.
