Chapter 36: Their First Encounter

"You—" she coughs a bit.

She turns away from his gaze as she steps backward.

  Not because she feels flustered to see him, mind you. Rather, the homemade concoction Caroline made a few minutes earlier loses its effect.

She tests her throat, giving an embarrassing forced cough by pressing her it tight but unfortunately air only comes out instead.

She bites her lower lip as her face turns red from the embarrassment of doing something...unlady-like in front of this man. 

But what worries her the most is the outcome after this. 

Why did it have to be now of all times? She has so many questions, not to mention she needs to save Dimitri before he might not return to her anymore. 

A slight chuckle escapes next to her and the "mysterious" man hides his smile with his hand.
