Chapter 46: The battle of metropolis

A/N: yo I'm sorry for doing an author's note at the beginning I know it ruins immersion but I don't want to confuse anyone. In Dc, the Lords of Order are like Nabu (aka Dr fate) and other entities like that and their agents where basically their hosts. The Agents of order in this are oc and are agents of their lords! Acting on their will but not possessed by them, they are a group that practices order and light magic.

-Narrator pov -

Within the portal which is located in a new crater that used to be a research facility. A massive army of white Martians could be seen at the forefront of them and seemed to be the leader, it was taller, and had more what could only be described as muscles.

He talked to some Martians that just came back through the portal, "humanoid creatures,"

"Low-level technology,"

"Weak,"

The Martian said telepathically as it shifted uncomfortably, the leader of the Martians gained a thoughtful look.

-break-

Metropolis is a city known for its grandeur, its impeccably low crime rate, its clean streets, and its overall good quality living arrangements.

Now, it can only be described as a battlefield, a warzone. Hell on earth. The streets are riddled with bodies of humans and Martians alike. Buildings smashed beyond repair, rubble falling constantly.

Sounds of explosions sound every couple of seconds.

"HELP!"

"SAVE US!"

"PLEASE!"

Desperate cries of citizens begging to be saved, begging to be rescued from this nightmare.

Some prayed to a God that would not save them.

Some begged to be ended quickly. For they thought death was inevitable.

Some cherished the last moments of their lives.

These cries were not silent, they were heard. By Dembe, Superman, Andrew, and his allies. They heard the gut-wrenching pleas for help.

But, they could not do anything as they were embroiled in their own battles.

Dembe flashed through the battle filed using his ability to consume fear to control the Martians, herding them like sheep until Superman swoops down dealing the final blows.

As he approached another martian that he saw shift into a human he struck his hand out like a spear.

*shickkk* impaling the Martian he activated his ability doing something he only just learned about

The fake yellow fear fire suddenly began to burn the Martian, really truly burn it. Soon only ashes blew in the wind around Dembe, his black cloak, and overall assassin look gave off a look of pure terror to those that saw him.

"Purify," a soft voice whispered the woman's voice carrying in the wind

Suddenly Dembe felt unparalleled danger, he jumped out of the way but it was for naught the attack was wide-ranged. *shoom!* a wave of pure light and order magic struck him.

"AHHH!" he screamed in pain, his insides felt like they were liquidating. His bones suddenly felt brittle, and his skin began to be riddled with burn marks

The only reason he was alive was because Lucas was his sire thus he was stronger and more resilient than a normal vampire.

Three people approached the downed form of Dembe, two wore light blue robes that flowed in the wind, and the last one was wearing a black trenchcoat with a red shirt under it.

The man in the trenchcoat brought a handgun up pointing it directly at Dembe, and Superman who was still fighting the Martians couldn't get away from the sheer number of enemies he was facing.

No words were exchanged as the man pulled the trigger indifferently,

*BANG!* it was as if the shot silenced the world, Dembe who was gasping for air as he felt his own lungs burning with every breath watched as the bullet left the barrel

It was as if time slowed down.

-Dembe Pov -

*BANG!* I was going to die. I knew I was going to die, my body knew it, and my mind knew it.

I saw my life flash before my very eyes.

"Daddy, stay with me don't go!" I saw my daughter when she was younger and I had to leave her for the first time

"Daddy please don't go!" she cried into my shoulder as I comforted her

"I will return soon," I said resolutely

I didn't return soon.

"You left me!" she cried hitting me on the chest while tears cascaded down her eyes

"I know, I'm sorry," I said holding her tightly so she was unable to see the tears falling from my eyes

I need to stay strong.

"I'm pregnant!" she told me with a wide smile

I never felt happier in that moment.

"Sir, she is in room 315," the doctor told me as I hurriedly ran into the hospital

"You're leaving again? But she is still so young? What if you don't come back again? What will I do?" she cried once more

"I got a job in Starling city, I will still be close enough to visit," I reassured her with a small smile as I hugged her close

This job seems important for some reason.

"Lucas I would like you to meet Dembe Zuma, he will be your bodyguard we aren't taking any chances since Oliver's kidnapping," Moira said in a slightly commanding tone toward my new assignment

He walked forward and held out his hand, I shook it as he said, "it's a pleasure to meet you Dembe I will be in your care," he said with a small smile

It was so hollow. But, it's not my problem he's just my employer.

"Come on Dembe we are going somewhere," he told me as we drove back to the jet

The next thing I knew it was at the park, seeing my family once more.

"Come on Dembe let's grab a drink,"

Slowly.

"Come on Dembe we are friends! Let's go see a movie,"

He broke away from being my employer.

"Dembe, wanna dress up today?"

He had me act as his alter ego.

"Gah! My family is so annoying,"

He broke away every wall, I soon started to think of him as something more than my employer.

"Let's go see your family again!"

He saved my family's life.

He saved my life.

"Dembe, I don't know what is going to happen out there while you are in Metropolis and I'm going to Gotham, be careful. The White Martians are nothing to gloss over,"

He hugged me before we departed. I could see the emotions in his eyes, his fights with Oliver are impacting him more than he would like.

"Be safe brother," he said before he suddenly vanished his words hung in the air around me

He was not my employer.

Lucas Queen is my brother.

*SHICKKK!*

-Narrator pov -

*SHICKKK!* The sound of flesh being pierced sounded through the chaotic streets

Dembe didn't feel any pain.

His eyes slowly opened to see a figure standing tall in front of him.

"Gah! That actually hurt for a second!" a voice rang through the air, despite the playful words the owner of the voice was filling the air with a sense of danger

"Another one!" one of the robed men shouted

"How did it take my bullet like that?!" the trenchcoated man yelled

"You must be the Agents of Order and a Hellsing," Lucas said as he glanced down at Dembe

Suddenly he was gone.

*shickkkk!* "GAHHHHHGLGLGLG!" one of the Agents of order screamed as fangs punctured his throat and Lucas drained him of his blood in a matter of seconds

The Hellsing whipped around and fired his gun continuously as the second agent of order the woman began to form a protective shield around herself and the Hellsing

Bullets could exit but nothing could enter.

Lucas dodged the bullets and rushed toward the barrier, as he collided with it, the barrier began to burn his skin.

"THIS IS NOTHING!" he shouted more to himself than the others

*BANG!*

*BANG!*

*BANG!*

Suddenly Lucas was gone and mist now surrounded the barrier, every so often the mist would vanish and he would appear again.

Glowing golden chains sprouted from the barrier trying to confine him but Lucas was too fast.

"What the fuck is he!" the Hellsing shouted

"We need to run!" the girl shouted in panic as the barrier began to break

*crackkk*

"Oh no," she gasped in fear

Unknown to Lucas and the others he was releasing an aura of chaos that incited fear and hopelessness, and recklessness.

*CRACKLBRAKKSHHTT!* the barrier shattered like a mirror

Before the two of them could react a blur filled their vision.

*Shickkk*

*shickkk*

They fell to their knees, as Lucas now stood in front of them with two hearts in his hands, his eyes were stone cold.

Lucas looked back at Dembe and saw his state. Lucas needed to send a message, that he was more brutal and more dangerous than them and he wasn't afraid.

Once he was done he took Dembe and left.

-Break-

As the area Lucas fought in was cleared of any battle, some brave people peeked their heads out and gasped in horror.

In the middle of the street were three kneeling bodies, each of their hands were cupped holding their own hearts, and their eyes were crying tears of blood.

-end-
