Chapter 20: Spatial Ring
The first class was 'The Basics Of Mana' and Pel was hoping to gain a bit from the class but humans still found mana as a mysterious energy.
Their knowledge came from various theories formed over the years. Did the mana surge just start or there was always mana?
The sort of questions clouded Pel's mind but he kept it for later and decided to listen to the teacher.
"Mana is an essence nature has given us to evolve. Any human awakened can notice the disparity between themselves now and their former self"
"The amount of mana the body can hold is limited. But as your ability grow stronger the limit is increased...by how much depends on how much progress you're making"
"Mana has a unique effect on every being and that is why even if two people turn out to be fire elemtalist you can't really say they're the same"
"The average mana output of a normal elementalist can be calculated with your watch but...Variants are a bit different"
As the teacher continues to explain...Pel found himself diving into the possibility of implementing mana in Kerki technology.
It was just a theory but it was possible, at the same time it was easier said than done.
After classes, Pel did not need to go to the cafeteria, he decided to eat a Scrimpa before going to the lab. If only he knew that his taste bud changed so much he wouldn't even have tried it.
Forget shit, Pel couldn't begin to describe how something he had eaten his whole life now tasted so horrible.
"To what is wrong with me?"

Pel sighed, he didn't know things would be this bad. It was very annoying to start learning to live like a completely different race.
On the way to the lad, Ito surfed the internet for videos or e-books corresponding to human behavior and the like.

After reaching the lab Pel first checked to see if he had any spatial storage ring in the system space and true he had only five left.
The ring was not that difficult to make so he never had to have it in bulk until there was an order placed.
"Making a sample would be the best the for now but I still have to gage their reaction to a spatial ring"
With that, he decided to put off making a new ring for now and just focused on reducing the space within the ones he had.

Meanwhile...
"What?!! You say he rejected?" a boy with green hair and eyes shouted at two others angrily.
"Yes boss he even beat Tobias up" one of the two boys said.
"Good, very good does he know who he is messing with?" the green-haired boy asked angrily.
"We specifically mentioned your name but he ignored it"
The green-haired boy became livid. This boy was nonother than young master Damien while the two boys were Tobias and Josh.
After the humiliation, they suffered from Pel they patiently waited for Damien to return from his mission before narrating everything to him.
"What did Instructor Gru say..." Damien asked with cold eyes.
"He asked us not to mess with him for the time being" Tobias said.
Damien frowned. Unless the new boy was something the instructor wouldn't say something like that. This made Damien cautious but he had no plan of dropping the issue, he instead wanted to find out what made the instructor say so.
Until then he was going to make Pel's life difficult without making a move on him.

Oblivious to all this, Pel looked at the ring he just finished with.
He didn't think he'll get the right reaction out of Tessa and the others so he decided to test his roommates instead.
It was approaching evening and after reaching the room, only Owen was around. Upon asking Alvin and Gerald had gone completing tasks in the mission hall.
"You're pretty early today what happened?" Owen asked.
"Nothing much" Pel then opened his fist in front of Owen.
"What is this?" Owen stared at Pel confused after seeing the ring. He did not even let his mind wander to any stupid possibility and only waited for Pel to open his mouth.
"It's a ring" Pel replied with a raised eyebrow.
"Of course I can see that, why are you giving me this?" Owen asked suspiciously.
"Isn't it obvious, I want you to help me check it out" Pel replied seriously.
Owen did not know what to say. He resumed before Pel and still had not had a chance to hit on any girl but the latter was already planning a proposal?..this was news.
He collected the ring and eyed Pel from the corner of his eyes. 'So that is why he is always coming late...wow this is so unexpected, I wonder who the girl is...would it be rude if I ask...forget he'll talk when he wants'
The ring looked like it was made of silver but it was so light that Owen doubted if he was holding anything.
'What is this?' then looking back at Pel's space in the room, he turned to Pel again. 'I wonder what his background is'
"It's nice" he finally said.
"What? I know it's nice, I'm asking you to wear it" Pel said with a slight frown.
"Wear it..."Owen was confused again. 'Don't tell me...is he gay?' he suddenly felt chill run down his spine.
"I'm good" he stuttered.
Pel became impatient. "What is wrong with you, it's just a spatial ring, it's harmless"
"I'm sorry... what?"
Pel then explained what a spatial ring was and Owen was left dumbfounded.
"You're joking right?" Owen asked with uncertainty.
"What would I joke, try it and tell me what you think?" Pel scoffed, he wasn't surprised by Owen's attitude in the least.
"How do I use his thing?" Owen asked, excitement building up inside his mind.
"It responds to commands issued telepathically. Point it at something you want to be stored and send your thought"
Owen nodded and then pointed the ring at his bed, the next moment the bed disappeared. "Woah!!"
'What a moron' Pel facepalmed.
