Chapter 15: Chapter 10.1: UWAAACKKK!!!

"Teams that passed the test, please line up in an orderly fashion!" Said a girl with yellow hair and clothes. She is also wearing a headset with a microphone that is attached to it as it raises the volume of her voice for all the regulars to hear it.
She is Yellow. Also one of the test administrators although she is only acting as an assistant.
She then gestured towards the large door beside her as she continued.
"We'll be going in the order of the teams that passed because this test is administered one at a time. The rest of the teams, please follow the instructions given by this guide robot and be on standby." She gestured towards her right side as some kind of small alien wearing the same clothes as her appeared to her side.
She then continued.
"Now then, let's get this test started. First team, please come through this way." She said as the first team of regulars entered the large door.
She then closed the door and stand by the door as she guards it. The regulars then talked to each other to pass the time.
The trio is not an exception as they also waited and talk to each other.
Khun is currently carrying Kai on his back for Khun's payment for punching Kai. When Kai asked him what did he do wrong, Khun just said that it must be nice to be an 'it' to be able to have so much shinsu resistance. Which Kai thought as something very petty reason to punch someone but he just forgets about it and demanded a payment.
Rak also questioned the turtle if he is actually a veteran hunter for him to not be pushed by the shinsu. He said that veteran hunters of his race easily hunts turtles even under heavy shinsu and he also wants to surpass them.
Hearing this, Kai boasted that even those veteran hunters is nothing infront of him.
Rak didn't consider him boasting as his image of Kai becomes better as he declared him as someone he will surpass someday. Kai said good luck to him with a genuine smile and thumb's up while Khun just watched them and thought that it's not that bad to be in this team.
"Khun~ I don't feel too good about those stares~" said Kai as he is being carried by Khun in his back. He can feel that many regulars are staring at him with different emotions.
There's someone who feels like they just want to know him but the thing that he is really getting uncomfortable of is because he felt like there's someone staring at him with the intent to r#pe him out of nowhere.
Well, he won't mind if the one with that intent is a beautiful girl though...
But if it's a guy...
*Shivers*
"What the- stop shaking you idiot. And that's your fault for showing off. Potato brained people might not have noticed it but there's definitely some regulars that noticed your irregularity." Said Khun as he observes people who is staring at Kai with some intent.
He is his team mate so he should also be wary of them. If they noticed that he is an irregular and they have the intention to snitch to dangerous groups of people, they will be in huge trouble. If possible, he wants to find them and kill them to stop them from snitching but he knows that there will definitely be one or two of them who will manage to get away so the only option is either hide or have as many meat shi- allies as possible.
After staring at the blue turtle who is observing the regulars with some anxiousness for a few seconds, the chad finally spoke.
"What are you even afraid of, blue turtle? Did you already forgot that red turtle is a veteran hunter? Stop being a scared turtle since I don't want to have a turtle like that as a team mate." Said the chad, Rak Wraithraiser.
Veteran turtles are people who is so strong that they can easily hunt even the strongest preys. He is even more sure that Kai is actually a veteran turtle because he withstood his strongest attacks easily. He believes that even if all the turtles gangs up on them, him and the red turtle can easily turn the tables on them and make them their prey.
He doesn't know about the blue turtle but he is sure that red turtle won't pick him as his ally if he is a weakling.
'This gator really thinks so highly of Kai...well, Kai is definitely strong. He might even be the strongest here...that is if a princess is not here.' He thought.
His privilege of being someone from the ten great families and being a genius is still nothing infront of a princess. That is because all princesses also have those two privilege as it is part of the requirements for becoming a princess. Add that to them having the king's blood, it makes them a few times stronger than him.
"Idiot gator, I'm not scared because of this regulars. I'm just wary of them snitching to rankers because that will be the real trouble for us." Explained Khun to Rak.
Hearing this, Rak just snorted as he didn't believed that they need to be worried of those ranker turtles. Besides, hunting preys that are stronger than them is a normal thing for his race. They always believe that hunting stronger preys and winning makes them stronger than before so hunting them is an essential part of raising their strength.
Seeing him snort, Khun immediately knew that Rak didn't hid his words a bit as he sighed in annoyance.
They just waited there as Kai annoys Khun by trying to eat his hair before Khun got irritated as he holds Kai's head and slams him to the ground. (A/n: good thing Khun didn't threw him towards Rak again...if you know what I mean 😏🤫)
*Bam*
"Oof!"
"Stop being an idiot." Said Khun in annoyance as he wipes off Kai's saliva that is in his hair with a handkerchief.
"Nah, being an idiot is what makes my life more exciting." Said Kai as he stands up and dusted his clothes.
People who saw him doing dumb things may treat him as an idiot, but they don't and would never know that he sometimes does those on purpose.
There's that one time that he decided to pickpocket because he is running out of money.
He then did it but...with a catch. And an idiotic one at that.
He...literally pickpocketed a woman infront of police officers. He even did it slowly to let his victim know that he is stealing from her.
He eventually got caught but it was obviously on purpose. He literally can outran a car. How can normal police officers even catch him with his speed?
The reason why he let himself get caught?
He just wants to experience being in jail. Yeah, you read that right.
The moment he pickpocketed, a thought suddenly appeared in his head. What does it feel being in jail? Is it good or bad? Would it be better if I just live in jail and be the king of the prisoners or something? That's certainly interesting. He thought before he got caught by the police officers.
After that, well, the woman forgave him and didn't sue him because of some...certain obvious reasons. So in the end, he didn't get to experience being in jail. Poor Kai.
Anyway, back to the story.
They waited for a few more minutes before they heard a scream of horror.
"UWAAAAAAACKK!!!"
Hearing the scream, all the regulars and even the trio got alerted and looked towards the test room's door where the scream was from.
Looking at the reaction of the regulars, Yellow just smiled and gestured towards the door again as she spoke.
"Next team, please come in." She said as the next team entered the test room with obvious nervousness.
Hearing the scream that seems like death throes , the regulars finally felt the seriousness of the situation as they suspected that this test has a high death rate.
"What's that scream??"
"Are they dead?"
"We-we're not act all going to die, are we?"
Hearing him, Kai couldn't help but say.
"Dumbass."
"Huh!? Who are you calling a dumbass!? You picking a fight or something!?" Said the one that Kia called a dumbass.
Kai just ignored him as he spouted some trash as he looks at his two team mate.
Rak is still acting normal as he just wipes his spear with his cape.
Meanwhile, Khun has become tense as he is in deep thoughts.
Seeing Khun acting like this, Kai just smirked as he climbs up and ride on Rak's shoulders. Rak didn't mind it as he just continued wiping his spear.

A few teams have already entered as the team before the ones before them just entered the room.
'A bit long this time' thought Khun as he looked at his pocket that has 9:20 on the screen. He used his pocket's timer function to time the test so that he can gather clues.
'Before them, the door opened pretty early...wait, now that I think about it, there was no scream from the previous team. Does that mean they've passed? Dammit, wish they told us even a little clue for us to work on-' his thoughts then got cut off as another scream sounded from the room.
"UWAAACCKKKKKK!!!"
The regulars already got a little used to the screams as the team before the trio already entered although they're still pretty nervous.
'Scream! Did that team fail? After this team, it's out turn' thought Khun as he looked at the team entering the room.
'Upto now, 3 out of 10 teams did not scream. Assuming that the ones who did not scream are the ones who passed, the chances of passing are pretty low! Tsk! Clue...I need a clu-
*Yawn*
His thoughts was once again interrupted as he heard a yawn from our red head.
Hearing him, Khun thought...
'That's right! If it's him, maybe...'
He then shook off his thoughts.
'No. Kai might be smart sometimes but it's too risky to rely on him for this kind of tests. If it's him, he will definitely en..danger...the...'
He remembers their first encounter. The moment he utterly lost to him wether it be with the physical battle or the battle of wits...sort of...
He then remembers that Kai has another flaw that he saw on him although the idiot forgot about it...all of those made Khun massage his forehead as he looks Kai who is on Rak's shoulders, sleeping.
"Kai-"
"Dunno."
"Huh?"
"You're gonna ask me if I have some sort of clue, right? Sorry but I would rather sleep on Rak's shoulders than actively search for a clue." Said Kai with his eyes still closed as his head is on Rak's head.
Rak then nodded as he agreed to Kai. He would also rather eat chocolate than search for annoying clues. He will just deal with any test that is thrown at him with his spear.
Hearing this, Khun thought...
'This two morons...sigh...shouldn't have asked in the first place...' He thought as he remembers that Kai is someone who hates doing things the way he does. Thinking about things critically.
Khun then felt someone approach them as he looked at the individual. A weird looking guy that has a neon green balloon for his body.
The balloon then spoke to him as he smiles.
"Hello, friend. Looks like you've got a lot in your mind." He said.
'What's the hell is this guy?' thought Khun. Even he never saw something as weird looking as the guy that is currently infront of him.
"Who are you? What business do you have with us?" Asked Khun with a slight glare. This weird looking guy just reeks of creepiness for him to let his guard down.
"No need to stare with such mean eyes! We're all regulars in the same boat!-
*Achoo!!* Kai sneezed before the balloon man continued.
"I just want to tell you guys and important hint about this test."
'!? Important hint!?' thought Khun as he tried to recall everything that could be a hint before failing to found any.
"A hint? How would you know about such things?" Khun asked.
The balloon man then raised his index finger.
"Deduction. I've been chosen as a regular based on my intellect. This much is simple." Boasted the balloon man.
"Even though no clues are given...on what basis are you drawing your deduction from?"
Asked Khun as he looked at his eyes.
The balloon man then waves his index finger as he spoke.
"Tsk tsk. No clues? Even though the most important clue is coming out constantly?"
'The clue is coming out constantly!? What non sense-'
"That is- time."
The balloon man said as he got on Khun's level and stares at his blue eyes.
"Time..."
"Think about it carefully. All the teams who did not screamed finished this test in 4 to 5 minutes. However, all the teams that took longer screamed" answered the balloon man
Hearing this, some dots connected on Khun's mind.
"Hmm...that's true..." Khun said as he remembered that the team before the ones before them took 9 minutes before they screamed.
"Right? And the testing area is completely sealed off from here. There's no way that we would be able to hear the scream but not anything else. That means, the testing staff are purposely making us hear those screams."
Hearing this, Kai also started to pay a little attention to what the balloon man is saying and thought about it...
'Chocolate...' although, all that he can think of is...well, chocolate.
Meanwhile, Rak just thought that the balloon man has some resemblance with a turtle and is wondering if he should hunt him. He already missed the flavor of real turtles that he hunts when he is still in his homeland.
While the two idiot are thinking about eating, the balloon man continues
"They are giving us a hint with those screams and are telling us this:"
He then raises his index finger near Khun's face.
"That for whatever test that might be in there, you must finish it within 5 minutes."
Hearing him, Khun thought about it for a little before shoving away his hand that is near his face before saying
"Well, that theory certainly has some logic to it. Though, wether or not that hint is useful is something we have to find out."
They then turned to Kai who is in Rak's shoulders as they heard him spoke.
"Yo~ I thought you were just some weird alien but looks like you gave our precious Khun right there some beautiful hints. Thanks, Neon dude. Here's my reward to you for helping our little vampire." Said Kai as he gestured Rak to walk near the balloon guy as he patted his head.
Neon dude is just confused about this situation that he is in as he has question marks floating above his head.
'Am I really getting patted in the head by a regular? Huh? Huh? What is actually happening?' thought Neon dude as he doesn't know what to do. This is not a part of his plan at all. What the heck is with this red hair!?
"Shut up with your nicknames, Kai. And no need to thank this neon dude." Said Khun.
'Huh? Is my name neon dude now? What the heck is up with this regulars? One is someone who doesn't trust anyone and the other two looks like they don't care about the test at all? Don't they care about their lives?' thought neon dude in absolute confusion. He cannot fathom this situation even with his brains that he is proud of.
Khun then continued.
"This guy simply wants to use us to test his theories."
He then glares at him
"You are only telling us this to affirm your theories about this test, isn't that right?"
He would never believe someone who came out of nowhere to genuinely help them. He would rather doubt everything and be wrong in the end than trust everything just to get used or betrayed.
"If we pass this test in 5 minutes after hearing your theory, you will apply that to yourself as well. And if we don't passed, you will have the opportunity to create another theory that support the new evidence, correct?" Said Khun as Neon dude just smirked at him without saying anything.
He was about to tell him to go away before they heard another scream again.

Khun and neon dude looked at their pockets to see that the team lasted 9 minutes and 40 seconds before screaming.
The trio left the neon dude to go towards the test room. The neon dude just keeps on cheering them on and telling them good luck much to Khun's annoyance and Kai's amusement.
They are near the door to the test room as Yellow spoke to them.
"Behind this door is another door. Past it and your test will begin."
She then opens the door as the trio entered.
When they entered, the first thing that caught their attention is the room being dark. All that they can see is a huge clock at the center of the ceiling, many doors, and a woman(?) sitting in the middle of the room while in her back is where the doors are located.
The woman(?) then spoke shocking them a little as the voice that they heard is of a man.
"Welcome, regulars. My name is Yu Hansung. I will now begin administering your test...shall we start?"
Kai, who is still on Rak's shoulders stared at him dumbfoundedly before he spoke.
"I...feel betrayed."
