Chapter 31: Sharing a dinner table with him is not a bad idea.

"Huh? Did you say something?" Liu Si Si heard Yun Meiyi murmur something under her breath, but she wasn't able to hear it properly. So, to confirm it, she asked.

Yun Meiyi was snapped out from her trance as she looked up at her friend and shook her head. "I said that's not my concern. I already told him what I wanted. If he can't fulfill it, then it's his loss. Why should we care?"

"Tsk, tsk, you are really heartless, Yi Yi. But tell me why you are only like this with him. When it had been Su Yang in concern, why were you so liberal? If you had been even a fraction of this tough at that time, you might not have suffered this much." Li Si Si said, pouting in disappointment.

She knew her words could hurt the girl's sentiments and the efforts that she had put in all these years but she wanted to tell her. Not because she wanted her to remember her pain but because she wanted to see if she was really facing it or just pushing everything onto her forgetfulness.

How could Yun Meiyi not know the thoughts of her friend? She could read her like no other. So, when she heard her say that, she smiled with an expression of regret on her face as she said, "Not all are born smart, some learn with their experiences. And I have also learned from my experiences as well."

She said, and her words were exactly what Liu Si Si wanted to hear. Seeing her showing regret confirmed that she was not hiding away from her mistakes but was ready to move on from them.

Liu Si Si was happy and was ready to step forward to hug her girl when Yun Meiyi added with more determination to say, "And that's why now, not until someone gets me the real star, I am not going to agree."

She said and Liu Si Si rolled her eyes, keeping her arms back to herself. "My precious, in simple words, are you meaning to say that you are going to stay single for life?"

Yun Meiyi shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know. No one knows what the future beholds." She said and her such big words only dizzied her friend more and more.

"Enough Yi Yi, let's not talk about it anymore. I won't be able to take it on my empty stomach. I am already famished and your determination is just working me out more." Liu Si Si said, dramatically leaning to get support from the bedpost.

Yun Meiyi shrugged her shoulders. "Fine, as you wish. I was telling you because you asked me about my plans. Otherwise, there seems no use. Anyway, did you not have anything in your evening snack? And about the dinner plans, did you make something or should I …"

Before she could say more, Liu Si Si stood up to reject her idea. "Definitely not, dear. Even though you cook really well, I can't allow you into the kitchen every time. But since I can't cook for myself, let's have our dinner out today. You have already unpacked your clothes, so there is really nothing left to do here. We can leave."

She said and Yun Meiyi stared at her with a displeased expression. To which, Liu Si Si pouted and blinked her eyes, putting on a perfect puppy expression to say, "It's just for tonight. Believe me, I never made the plan. It was just that I received an invitation in the evening from one of the Michelin restaurants and I accepted it."

"..." Yun Meiyi didn't say anything. She just stared at her, keeping her previous expression all firm.

Liu Si Si reached her hand and swung her with persistence. "Yi Yi, that restaurant is really popular and they have limited seats which get booked prior six months. It's really a rare chance to dine there. I really don't want to miss it. Please come with me"

She urged and Yun Meiyi enquired as if she was still doubtful of her words. "If it's really hard to get a booking there, how did you get the invitation so easily? Si Si, explain it to me and I will accompany you."

Liu Si Si hesitated. Rubbing one ear in nervousness, she closed her eyes to gain some strength before speaking, "The owner of that restaurant wants to go out with me, so he gave me a table at his restaurant today."

Yun Meiyi's brows raised up at her. "So, you agreed to go out with him?"

"Are you crazy? How could I?"

"Then?" Yun Meiyi would never believe that this could be simple. There was something more and she was waiting for the girl to spill the beans.

Liu Si Si pressed her lips in a thin line and then slowly spoke, "I challenged him. If he could keep his eyes entirely on me all night, I would go on a date with him, otherwise, he would leave me alone. That's a fair deal, I guess. Furthermore, I am not going to accept the free food. I am going to pay the bill, so technically there seems to be no flaw in it."

She said, and Yun Meiyi couldn't help but pinch the space between her brows.

If there was no flaw in this plan, where could the flaw actually be?

"Liu Si Si, have you ever heard your challenge yourself? Only a blind man would not keep his eyes on you because he would be blind. Otherwise, who would be able to resist the beauty of Feathering Heights S class actress? The one with millions of followers?"

But Liu Si Si nodded, "Oh you are more than better in it. You have recently rejected the same man two times; I am sure you would have a way to save me as well. Just tag along with me. Also, you don't have to get so nervous. Xu Wei is not ugly. He has charms that could compete with Su Yang. Sharing a dinner table with him wouldn't be a bad idea."

She said as she already walked forward to open the wardrobe to get a suitable dress for Yun Meiyi.
